The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight 5.0 Stars
A total masterpiece. The acting was flawless, while Heath Ledger stole the film with his incredible performance. I did not realise how great an actor he was until i saw this film. I was glued to the screen and totally forgot that it was an actor playing the Joker. Certainly one of the best performances of a villian i've ever seen. The story is tragic and haunting, even more so upon a second viewing of the film. The film is probably the best super hero film ever made. Yet it doesn't feel like you're watching a comic book movie. Its dark and complex, has great action scenes, yet also is intelligent. Its more of a dark crime drama. While the film lasts for almost three hours, not one minute of it was boring and it kept my attention all the way through. It was as amazing as i expected it to be and it surely lived up to all the hype. Heath Ledger certainly deserves to be at least nominated for an Oscar, as his performance is probably one of the best i've seen on film. If i could have my way the film would also win the Oscars or at least be nominated for best director and best picture. Overall a fantastic film and one of the best sequels ever made in my opinion, alongside the likes of The Empire Strikes Back, Terminator 2 and Aliens.

The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004,  R)
The Assassination of Richard Nixon 4.5 Stars
I'd never seen a film with Sean Penn in before, but his performance in this film was one of the best i've seen. The overall message is relevant to today as much as it was to the 1970s America. When there is "plenty for the few and few for the plenty." Go see this film, its great.

This film is superb, although its in German. But it makes it more realistic and you get used to subtitles.

Bruno Ganz is fantastic as Adolf Hitler and the guy who plays Goebbels is such a look alike for the real guy that its scary.

An awesome film!!! Hugo Weaving is really good in this film, while Natalie Portman shows she can act and really gets away from her restricted role in the Star Wars movies. A very clever and impressive film.

Million Dollar Baby (2004,  PG-13)
Million Dollar Baby 5.0 Stars
One of the best films i have ever seen. A true story and great acting. I didn't think this was my kind of film, primarilly for its focus on boxing. But in a way thats just one part of the story. Its just a great film...

Gladiator (2000,  R)
Gladiator 5.0 Stars
Great inspiring film. Probably Ridley Scott's best film. A great story, told well which can be watched again and again. Russell Crowe's acting is excellent along with the rest of the cast. I particulalry liked Oliver Reed, who sadly died during the making of the film. Its a shame this film didn't win best score. I think the music is fantastic and possibly Hans Zimmer's best.
