50 First Dates (2004,  PG-13)
5
Nine to Five (9 to 5) (1980,  PG)
Nine to Five (9 to 5)
This film is slightly dated, but still is a brilliant movie. We've all had the fantasies of getting one over on our bosses and this film proves that it can be done - love especially the dream sequences and the twist at the end
6
About a Boy (2002,  PG-13)
7
Adventures in Babysitting (1987,  PG-13)
8
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994,  R)
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
This film is a classic! From the oneliners to the costumes - just wish there were more 'showtunes'
9
Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007,  PG)
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Really enjoyed this film, not at all what I expected, I was expecting a poor comparison to the original cartoon, but this was brilliant.
10
April Fool's Day (1986,  R)
April Fool's Day
Haven't seen this film in years - scared the crap out of me but I was only 9 at the time.

Have recently ordered this film and am so looking forward to watching again

Film arrived and sat down with the other half who had never seen the film before but it brought back so many memories for me.

Some of the make up is a little dated but a thoroughly enjoyable film
11
The Beach (2000,  R)
12
National Lampoon's Blackball (2005,  R)
13
Blades of Glory (2007,  PG-13)
Blades of Glory
Really enjoyed this film even though it was very predictable, two big rivals end up joining together to win through despite the competition.

The moves are amazing and the music is great, not too keen on Will Ferrell though - I love this Jon Heder - not so keen on Will Ferrell (for me he seems too old for the role) but think could it have been made with Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson?
14
Bootmen (2000,  R)
Bootmen
Such an amazing film - will admit to crying my eyes out a several points of the film - really well choreographed and brilliantly directed
15
The Commitments (1991,  R)
The Commitments
I love this film! Andrew Strong has a fantastic voice but a smugness about him as Decco that you just want to punch!!
16
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2005,  PG)
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
This film is wonderful, I'm not too keen on the musical elements of the film but this film is such a great family film.

Younger children may not grasp what is going on but the characters will keep them entertained.

Wonderfully voiced by an all star cast. Tim burton tends to use the same cast in his films but the amazing thing is, is that they all work so well.
17
Dick Tracy (1990,  PG)
Dick Tracy
I love this film. Its so colourful and so musical, filled with an all star cast.

Even though it is a colourful film, it is very dark.
18
Drop Dead Fred (1991,  PG-13)
Drop Dead Fred
I first saw this film when I in my early teens and watching this film again after all these years brought back a lot of silly memories.

Rik Mayall is an absolute comedy genius, with the kind of childish humour that any child can relate to especially in an imaginary friend.
19
Footloose (1984,  PG)
Footloose
This film is great and has been somewhat of an inspiration to me - standing up for what you believe in and not just doing what others tell you. It's ok to be different. The music is great, however some of the dancing could be deemed as a little dated - really looking forward to seeing the remake.
20
Flushed Away (2006,  PG)
21
Ghost (1990,  R)
Ghost
A classic film, well written and acted. When I first saw this film it was when it first came out and there was all the ended hype about it and also the first in a long line of revivals of "Unchained Melody" - I mean everyone and his dog has recorded this song and released it!

However, watching it 18 years later this film is timeless.
22
Hairspray (1988,  PG)
23
Hatchet (2006,  R)
Hatchet
Pretty good film although more of a comedy than a horror.

Great use of a name selling this - Robert Englund is only in the film for a few scenes and is dead before the opening credits!!

Bit of a naff ending though - is this because they can open it up and make a sequel or because they just ran out of money??? Answers on a postcard!!
24
Hoodwinked (2005,  PG)
Hoodwinked
Absolutely fantastic! Am so hoping that they do more like this, perhaps the re telling of Goldilocks, she could get busted for breaking & entering!!

This is a fantastic family film, the kids will love it and the adults will enjoy the one-liners and visual jokes.
25
Hot Fuzz (2007,  R)
Hot Fuzz
I love this film, so much better than Shaun Of The Dead. Brilliantly written. Hoping a sequel will be made soon
26
Magicians (,  Unrated)
Magicians
Really enjoyed this film. A nice twist on the best friends who fall out movie. It is predictable that they get back together for the finale but it is an entertaining film. Especially Robert Webb in the nude.
27
Meet the Spartans (2008,  PG-13)
Meet the Spartans
Really enjoyed this film, love the parodies, the only thing that I din't like was the fact that the film was so short!!!

Travis Van Winkle is gorgeous and Sean Maguire is hot even though the facial hair doesn't suit him - I preferred him looking like he did in Grange Hill and Eastenders.
28
The Mummy (1932,  Unrated)
The Mummy
Really enjoyed this film - make up effects were really good, only thing that I didn't like was the fact that the film ended quite quickly, it was like "we're running out of film - what can we do to wrap this film up quickly?"
29
Nanny McPhee (2006,  PG)
30
National Treasure (2004,  PG)
National Treasure
Really enjoyed this film, a cross between the DaVinci Code and a modern day Indiana Jones
31
National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007,  PG)
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Really enjoyable movie, sometimes a bit predictable and Mitch Wilkinson gets extremely boring, especially with his martyrdom at the end.
32
Police Academy (1984,  R)
Police Academy
Brilliant! Watching this film 24 years after it was made took me back to my childhood.

The film is wonderfully performed. Think my favourite character would have to be Jones (Michael Winslow) - his vocal talents are amazing!
33
Police Academy 2 - Their First Assignment (1985,  PG-13)
Police Academy 2 - Their First Assignment
This is excellent!!

Michael Winslow steals the show in the restaurant & Bobcat Goldthwait's role of Zed is tailor made for him.
34
Popeye (1980,  PG)
Popeye
Really good film, especially if you are a big fan of the cartoon. Robin Williams is great as Popeye, just odd to see him with blond hair.

All the original characters are here, the songs tend to distract from the film somewhat but an enjoyable film none the less
35
Saw IV (2007,  R)
Saw IV
This film is amazing, just when you thought that Jigsaw was dead and things were finished, think again.

A brilliant blood-fest of a film with the hidden twist in the film as are the case with this series of films.
36
The Secret of My Success (1987,  PG-13)
The Secret of My Success
Wonderful film, still good after all these years, a sort-of male version of "Working Girl"

Country boy makes good and not only does he get what he wants, he also gets the girl too.

I had forgotten how cute Michael J. Fox was in those days, especially as he strips off a lot in this film.

The bedroom chase scene is brilliant and the music for the whole film is wonderful, it may sound a little dated now, but heck I'm an 80's kid at heart!
37
The Sick House (The Sickhouse) (2007,  Unrated)
38
St. Trinian's (2007,  PG-13)
St. Trinian's
Really enjoyed this film - an up to date version of the original classic films. Am really hoping that they make more films like this.
39
Sunset Boulevard (Sunset Blvd.) (1950,  Unrated)
Sunset Boulevard (Sunset Blvd.)
This film is a true classic, it seems a little dated now because of the theme, but a lot of the story is timeless.

I don't think a modern version would work, on saying that, I can't wait to see the new musical version. After seeing the stage show which this version is based, I'm hooked.
40
This Is England (2007,  Unrated)
This Is England
This film is amazing, to be honest, I was expecting a more violent film like Green Street, but this film really got to me.

Sometimes the film seems very amateurish, but at the same time it's showing real life in the 1980's.
41
Thunderbirds (2004,  PG)
Thunderbirds
WOW! I wanna be a Thunderbird!!! Ok so I may not have been around for the the original Thunderbirds series but I do remember then being show again in the 1990's and whereas I found that sometimes the episodes could get a little boring, this film had me gripped!!

The Tracy boys are all gorgeous, Parker & Brains were just as I remember them, however IMO Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward was a little too young.
42
The Wedding Singer (1997,  PG-13)
The Wedding Singer
Loved this film, Adam Sandler is so sensitive as Robbie Hart. Great music and guest appearnce of Billy Idol.
43
What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962,  Unrated)
44
Charlotte's Web (2006,  G)
Charlotte's Web
This film is fantastic, just as moving and wonderful as the original cartoon version.

I still prefer Paul Lynde as Templeton and Debbie Reynolds as Charlotte, however Julia Roberts is great in the role of the spider.

A real weepie, I will admit to shedding a few tears near the end.
45
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001,  PG-13)

Back to the Future Part III (1990,  PG)
71
Bad Santa (2003,  R)
72
Barnyard (2006,  PG)
Barnyard
Such a brilliant film, I loved this film, I guess it's me being violent but I think the coyote's should have been killed. However, this being a children's/family film it cannot be this way.
73
Batman (1989,  PG-13)
74
Batman Returns (1992,  PG-13)
75

85
Beyond the Sea (2004,  PG-13)
86
Big (1988,  PG)
Big
I think this film is great, love the scene in FAO Schwartz with the piano, cant wait to visit the store when I finally get to New York.
87
Big Momma's House (2000,  PG-13)
Big Momma's House
A good film, but extremely predictable - as in the fact that the hero is gonna save the day and everything is gonna turn out fine, he finally gets the girl and all is right with the world.

Apart from that I really enjoyed this film.
88
Big Fat Liar (2002,  PG)
89
Big Momma's House 2 (2006,  PG-13)
Big Momma's House 2
Again, predictable but this time taking the Mrs Doubtfire twist on the scenario.
90
Biggles - Adventures in Time (1988,  PG)
91
Billy Elliot (2000,  R)
92
Black Sheep (2006,  Unrated)
93
Boat Trip (2003,  R)
94
Boo (2005,  Unrated)
Boo
I really enjoyed this film, even though it didn't scare me that much, scared the crap out of the other half though!!!

I love the effects in this film and hope they make a sequel

103
The 'Burbs (1989,  PG)
104
Goodbye Charlie Bright (2001,  Unrated)
Goodbye Charlie Bright
I really enjoyed this film. The naked football scene at the beginning of the film had me hooked (I wonder why?)

Had a lot of similarities with 'Beautiful Thing' However whereas Beautiful Thing was more open about the sexuality, Goodbye Charlie Bright seemed to have the Homosexual undertones.

Acting is a little shaky in places, but all in all a film well worth watching.
