Two Weeks Notice
Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock bring great comedy and chemistry to this fun script.

The Lake House
I still don't get the whole time warp but this is one of my all time favorite movies.
4
Runaway Bride (1999,  PG)

The Holiday (2006,  PG-13)
The Holiday
This will probably top my film favorite list for the year... even though I don't think it was made this year.

The story is refreshing and gosh...it switches the lines and leaves you feeling free.

The film does contain a few scenes not for the kids. The acting and script are superb except for a bit of gratuitous language. I loved the old movie aspect.

Between 'Gumption,' 'schmo,' and 'freaking out,' this film warms your heart, gives you hope, and makes you laugh your 'haggardness' away. And the ending...I don't think it could be any better.

Music and Lyrics (2007,  PG-13)
Music and Lyrics
The only reason this film doesn't get five stars is for the crazy pop star scenes that I have to pass by and the budda statue in the end concert. The soundtrack to this film is a must have. Grant can sing pretty well and I love having the songs they sang in the movie on my iPod. Nothing like em on iTunes. Buy the cd if you liked the tunes in the film. Movie not recommended for kids unless you edit it a bit.

What a Girl Wants (2003,  PG)
What a Girl Wants
This is a gem my fam came across at the farmer's market one day. If you saw Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice and wish you had another movie with a similarly played role, here it is. The story line is not similar, but Firth brings home a wonderfully real performance as a man who is in line to be the next Prime Minister of England, only to discover he has a family. Will he choose his successful career and his well-to-do fiancee (also from Pride and Prejudice) or will he choose the heart of two women he never wanted to lose.

While You Were Sleeping (1995,  PG)
While You Were Sleeping
Ok...so technically, this isn't a Christmas film. but they do have Christmas in the flick; so I figured if you don't know about this film, now is as good a time as any to discover it for yourself.

Girl likes good looking guy. Girl saves this guy from muggers. Girl is mistaken for guy's fiancee by guy's family. Girl falls for someone else. What is she to do? Check this film out. It ends great.

It has a bit of dialog that isn't for kids, so you might find the need to locate your fast forward button.

Kate & Leopold (2001,  PG-13)
Kate & Leopold
I have only seen this film a few times. The story is fun and you don't feel like you've wasted any time at all as the film comes to a close. My only complaint (that I can recall) is Ryan's need to use GD in several places. If you watch this movie, buy it and edit the language out. It will be well worth your effort.
