Ed Wood (1994, R)
tim burtn directs johnny depp, in 1 of 6 collaberations, there 6th sweeney todd, is out, this month, here depp plays ed wood the famous director, who is famously considered the worst ever with plan 9 from outer space being considered the worst film ever, here we get a glimpse into the making of this film, from funding coming from odd sources, to his friendship with famous horror star bela lugosi, who was on his last legs during that film, we se in great detail, the making, off, but also ed woods private life, and his fondness of wearing womens clothings, depp is true to form here, capturing ed wood really well, and burton using his usual box of tricks, he knows his ed wood, and depp really well, and definatly the best of there colaberations, watching the making off plan 9 are certainly the highlights here, and when done here seek that out as well, whats seen in ed wood seems pretty authentic, |

The Player (1992, R)
tim robbins is exellent, as a exec at a movie studio, when thretend by a up and coming writer, he takes matters into his own hands, what follows is a biting attack on hollywood its politics, and, the madness of themovie industry, directed by the late robert altman, with a great eye here, razor sharp observations, portraying execs in a not very good light, lots of cameos on show also, adding to realism, with great scenes, showing off these cameos, robbins has never been better, |

Living in Oblivion (1995, R)
steve bushimi is his comic and indie best as a frustrated director, shooting a very low budget film, and the stress ,eagos and disasters that can go wrong when trying to film simple scenes, from actors blowing his lines, director of photoghraphy not pulling focus, or eagos getting to big for the set, all done in a very funny way and style, a very low budget effort, showing a low budget effrot being made. observations about life shooting indie film, seems spot on from what i heard, if you like bushimi being whiny, then youll love the role here, and also katherin keener in a early role, great scenes and comic moments,, and great how its kept interesting cnsidering plot |
