These two French filmmakers were filming a documentary on NYC firefighters on the actual day the WTC collapsed!
My husband was a Baltimore City firefighter for 32 years and says no other documentary on the subject will compare!

Ambulance Girl (2005,  PG)
Ambulance Girl
As someone who drove an ambulance for 16 years AND suffered from clinical depression, I identified with this movie in so many ways. A must see for EMTs!
3
Ladder 49 (2004,  PG-13)
Ladder 49
This movie was made in Baltimore and my husband was a Baltimore City firefighter for 32 years. He was still active duty when then movie was made and it still chokes me up at the end. I think Ladder 49 is one of the more realistic firefighting movies out there and worth watching.

The Guys (2002,  PG)
The Guys
There are no active firefighting scenes in this movie but it is about NYFD captain who loses eight men in the WTC collapse. He is dumbfounded at the prospect of writing so many eulogies in one weeks and must enlist the help of a writer for help. I found this movie to be especially poignant because my husband was in the Baltimore City Fire Department for 32 years and know how many close calls he has had.
5
Backdraft (1991,  R)
Backdraft
"You go. We go."
6
Frequency (2000,  PG-13)
Frequency
My husband is a firefighter and a ham radio operator so we went to see this and thought it was pretty good.
7
Roxanne (1987,  PG)
Roxanne
My husband and I both volunteered for a local fire department so we thought this movie was charming!
8
The Towering Inferno (1974,  PG)
The Towering Inferno
Another fire flick but my husband loves it.
9
Mother, Jugs & Speed (1976,  PG)
Mother, Jugs & Speed
I used to drive an ambulance so I laughed my ass off at this one.
10
Turk 182! (1985,  PG-13)

Firehouse (1973,  Unrated)
Firehouse
The firefighting scenes are cheesy in this 1973 movie. The music reminds me of the TV show 'Emergency'. Still, the underlying story about an all white firehouse that gets it's first African American was ok.
