Where is that oscar?? What a super great movie!! Did one of you ever remember having left the theatre with a smile on your face after seeing a movie where a young woman is killed in a car accident? Well, I kept smiling during the entire movie, I was glad because this movie is showing life as it really is. People who meet new people as a result of a common tragedy. Developing friendship, learning to understand. I swear I will never watch the oscars ever again if this movie (or one of the actors) is not receiving an oscar! |

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007, R)
This movie is beyond brilliance! I enjoyed every minute of it. The young Ed Sanders made a great impression on me, what a strong child singing voice he has! What a great sound track from Stephen Sondheim! I must buy that CD! The performances were great (yes I love Alan Rickman even more than Johnny Depp) and the visual effects were unbelievable, thanks to the super Tim Burton! Oh so much blood! Made a great contrast with the dark scenery! |

Rasputin (1996, R)For those who haven't seen the movie that earned Alan Rickman a Golden Globe and Emmy award and Ian McKellen a Golden Globe as well, it is one of those movies where the actor doesn't play the character but where the actor is the character. A very interesting and emotional performance. Add to this a brilliant Ian McKellen as the Tsar and you have the perfect British actor pair in an absolutely fabulous based-on-a-true story flick! |

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006, R)
Best movie of 2006! All thanks to the brilliant story of German writer Patrick Süskind! This movie doesn't need Hoffman or Rickman to be a success, but it certainly is an asset! |

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009, PG)
Absolutely brilliant movie! According to me the best Potter movie made so far but that might have to do with the fact that the Severus Snape scenes were many and spread well from the very beginning to the very end. Actor Jim Broadbent was fantastic as Slughorn and even the three kids didn't irritate me this time. But where did Snape's line It's over! go to? |

Therese Raquin (1981, Unrated)
This one is not a movie but a TV-series. It is a play based on a novel by French writer Émile Zola who is known to be a philosopher. Along the way this story becomes darker and darker and ends in complete disaster. This drama really touched me. I bought it because I wanted to see a quite young Alan Rickman in a role which apparently isn't mentioned in the novel but only appears in the play because the viewer would understand the characters' intentions better. Brian Cox is just amazing and so is the female lead Kate Nelligan. |

Nobel Son (2008, R)
Watched this one after illegally downloading it. Still waiting for it to be released in theatre, outside USA. No trace of any region 2 DVD release either. That's how illegal downloading is stimulated, due to assholes who won't bother to release a movie. |

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007, PG-13)
I saw the movie twice in theatre within 24 hours. The first time I was disappointed because the movie should have been quite a bit longer. There were a few scenes missing in the movie. Having read the book I was expecting to see specific scenes in the movie. I did not like the fact that Cho was the traitor of Dumbledore's Army. I so much wanted to see a student with "SNEAK" written on her face. Would have been much funnier. And I longed to see Severus & Sirius fighting on the table but I didn't see that scene either. The performances of Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson & Imelda Staunton were superior as usual and they are the reason why I still give this movie 4.5 stars. |

Mesmer (1994, Unrated)
One of the worst movies starring Alan Rickman. And that has nothing to do with Alans acting performance. That one is brilliant as always. It could have been a much better movie though if only the sound quality would improve. Lots of scenes just aren't audible. Some scenes are ridiculous. I had that misfortune that I first saw an other Scandinavian movie called "Magnetist's Fifth Winter". That's a similar story based on an other book, but actually the very same subject and story. Given that "Mesmer" is based on an other book than above mentioned movie, I am surprised that both movies are so enormously similar. The Scandinavian one is VERY good, can watch it over and over again. "Mesmer" is... well... not at all a masterpiece. It's a bad movie. :-(( |

I watched this play another time.Since I'm not a native English speaker and never studied English literature this DVD is never easy to follow for me, even when the English subtitles are on. |

Bottle Shock (2008, PG-13)
Okay I admit it. I downloaded this movie illegally having waited for months for the release in theatre. I realized there will never be a European release in theatre since it has been released on DVD in the USA. I've been very angry because of this fact, moreover because people who were lucky to see it in theatre were telling me about how worthless this flick is and how few people were in theatre. |

It was a good try for a thriller, but it just isn't exciting enough! They tried to put some comedy in it but the comedy is not really great either! |
