spacecasefukface posted 419 days ago
i see u watched hellraiser 1 and 2
hell yeah!!!!!
DrPhibes posted 419 days ago
How old were you the first time you saw a "Hellraiser" movie? I was about 8 or 9 years old. I remember really digging it. It was partly responsible for making me the wholesome individual I am today. :)
sleepykiss posted 418 days ago
10/15 Dave-O... HELLRAISER?? I was like 13 the 1st time I saw it. Freaked me out with all those flying fish hooks (I had a fishing hook stuck in my finger as a kid, its terrifyinng.)
spacecasefukface posted 418 days ago
did u watch all the puppet masters all in one sitting
that would be wicked
DrPhibes posted 416 days ago
No, I watched them in three separate sittings. By the way, Mark, you didn't answer my question about "Hellraiser".
spacecasefukface posted 414 days ago
i was about 9 or 10 and i remember being really freaked out ... my mom made me stop watching about half way through it though .. so a few years later i got to watch it all
whats the first horror film u ever seen
DrPhibes posted 413 days ago
My first horror movie? That would be either "Gremlins" or "Frankenstein" (the Boris Karloff classic) - I don't remember which I saw first. My first exposure to horror themes, however, was via "Scooby-Doo" and "Casper the Friendly Ghost" cartoons. :)
sleepykiss posted 413 days ago
hey hey... plagiarizerrrrrrr LOL. 14/21, Dave-O. My 1st horror/monster movie was THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON.
DrPhibes posted 413 days ago
Yes, I remember now. You told me 2 years ago.
spacecasefukface posted 413 days ago
i remember being scared of young frankenstein lol
my first one hmmmm friday the 13th or halloween or amityville horror
one of those ones i cant pin point which one i saw first
hey did u buy all the universal monster legacy dvd sets .. i think i have them all
spacecasefukface posted 413 days ago
man the reptile is a sweet movie ... i watched that back to back with The Dunwich Horror dean stockwell creeps me out in it
sleepykiss posted 412 days ago
The DUNWICH HORROR is a classic. I never bought those Universal Monster sets because somewhere on cable those movies r always playing. I did buy most of the Hammers & the Hammer Series 3 dvd set tho. Have u ever seen "Charlie Boy?", a classic. Guys tend to like the monsters & girls tend to like the vamps... gee, I wonder why?? LOL. U know, the orig AMITYVILLE with JBrolin scared me a bit the 1st time I saw it, I dont now why tho. Such a rip off of THE SHINING, which came 1st?
DrPhibes posted 411 days ago
How is "The Amityville Horror" a rip-off of "The Shining"? Your statement doesn't make any sense. For starters, both are based on books from the same year (1977), one written by Stephen King, the other inspired by a "true" incident (I use the word "true" liberally) that transpired, I believe, in 1975. Then, there's the fact that the "Amityville Horror" movie predates Kubrick's film by a year. Lastly, the only thing they really have in common is that they're both about ghosts. Wow. Talk about copyright infringement. Call the F.B.I.! No, but seriously, "The Amityville Horror" isn't a rip-off of "The Shining" any more than "Beetlejuice" is a rip-off of, say, "The Turn of the Screw".
spacecasefukface posted 411 days ago
the only thing i can think of is that both fathers in this film become mad and have spirits influencing them
both fathers try to kill their wives and children , both with an axe as well lol
different but some similarities , but both stand alone as truth(amityville) and fiction ( shining) plus very very different style of films but neither ripped one another off
spacecasefukface posted 411 days ago
your the coolest david
curse of the werewolf man havent seen that in awhile
sleepykiss posted 410 days ago
ooooooooooooooo... Dr. Phibes is on a rampage, Im so terrOfied LOL. Yes, u r correct. I shouldnt have said "rip off", but they are very similar. Dont u go off on me mister or ull hear MY wrath. I might even curse u... a pox, plague, how about a month of 5000 kisses? lol.
DrPhibes posted 410 days ago
"ooooooooooooooo... Dr. Phibes is on a rampage, Im so terrOfied"
I apologize for my bluntness. It's just that I don't like it when people bash my favorite movies. Did you know that every time someone criticizes a horror classic, a ghoul somewhere falls down dead? How can you live with that on your conscience?
"the only thing i can think of is that both fathers in this film become mad and have spirits influencing them both fathers try to kill their wives and children , both with an axe as well lol"
I think that's all coincidence. None of these plotlines are particularly novel anyway. I guess, at the end of the day, what really matters is the execution, i.e. how the story is presented.

Dave, have u ever considered writing reviews for horror mags or opening an exclusively horror video store? Lessee... Daves Deadly DVD Dungeon or Phibes' Flesh-eating Fiends & Films lol.
My sis & I always dreamed of opening our own video store called DVDs No One Wants To See. We could stock all the dvds we love without any blockbusters & the name would entice everyone to come take a look at what we had.
p/s No, I dont want a ghouls demise on my hands lol. And I just read MR James' THE MEZZOTINT, try to track it down :)
spacecasefukface posted 409 days ago
i have never even heard of paranoiac
damm i gotta see that
spacecasefukface posted 408 days ago
did u ever see the phantom of the opera with robert englund
DrPhibes posted 408 days ago
"Dave, have u ever considered writing reviews for horror mags or opening an exclusively horror video store?"
Yes, I have. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked these questions! A friend of mine once suggested I should submit reviews to Fangoria, but I don't think it works that way...
"No, I dont want a ghouls demise on my hands lol."
There's only way you can repair the damage you've done. Clap your hands and say: "I do believe in ghouls! I do! I do!"
"I just read MR James' THE MEZZOTINT, try to track it down :)"
I love "The Mezzotint" - it's creepy as hell! Speaking of ghost stories involving objets d'art, did I ever tell you about the short film I made in college based on Poe's "The Oval Portrait"?
DrPhibes posted 408 days ago
"did u ever see the phantom of the opera with robert englund"
Of course, many times. I have it on DVD. I think it's much better than it's made out to be.
sleepykiss posted 407 days ago
PARANOIAC is with Oliver Reed. Creepy.
You made a Poe movie? Can u send me a clip somehow?
spacecasefukface posted 407 days ago
okay lets talk about 3 part horror movies ... im looking for some more
as in three part its like trilogy of terror or black sabbath
here are some i know of
beyond the grave
3 extremes
trilogy of terror
tales from the darkside the movie
twilight zone
nightmares(the emilio arcade game episode is the best)
creepshow
two evil eyes
... u guys have any ideas for more ???
DrPhibes posted 407 days ago
How about "Dead of Night"? Okay, so it's a 5-part horror anthology, but that's close enough...
DrPhibes posted 407 days ago
Oh, and I almost forgot: "Cat's Eye" is a 3-part horror movie. The last segment with the troll is the best.
DrPhibes posted 406 days ago
Wait, I just thought of two more: "Tales of Terror", with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Basil Rathbone, and "Spirits of the Dead", directed by Roger Vadim, Louis Malle and Federico Fellini. There, that's FOUR recommendations so far!
DrPhibes posted 406 days ago
What do you know! I just thought of a fifth one: "Kwaidan" - a four-part Japanese anthology of terror!
sleepykiss posted 406 days ago
TALES OF TERROR & SPIRITS OF THE DEAD are classics. Cant think of any more 3 parters at the mo, but Ill let u know if I do. Dave, I cant believe it, but I still havent watched BRIDES OF DRACULA this year. 19/29, Im wayyyyyyyyyyyy behind this Halloween lol.
heraklioncat posted 406 days ago
Very primo list. Nightmare (Here's the Knife..) That looks like a film I would enjoy greatly. I can say I honestly never heard of it. *bows head in shame*
spacecasefukface posted 406 days ago
thanks guys
i want to collect as many trilogy or three part movies as i can
it would be sweet to have a marathon with just those types of movies
okay heres a question its halloween night and the group of us are having a marathon and you can bring three movies of your own to show which three movies from your collection would u choose ... think about it :)
sleepykiss posted 405 days ago
ooo just 3 flicks, thats hard... ok, prob a CLASSIC like EXORCIST OR HELLRAISER (so I can hear ur comments again in person lol), then something GORY that I can stand like HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES or TEXAS CHAINSAW MASS 1 & then something I like like THE INNOCENTS or THE HAUNTING. But then Id like something FUNNY like DEAD ALIVE, LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM or TEXAS CHAINSAW 2, gee this is difficult. No, no, Id love to see THE BEAST with both of u to see ur reactions hahahahahaha. Let me think about this a bit longer.
spacecasefukface posted 404 days ago

DrPhibes posted 404 days ago
"Nightmare (Here's the Knife..) That looks like a film I would enjoy greatly. I can say I honestly never heard of it."
"Nightmare" is one of the movies included in the Hammer Horror set I was telling you about. Buy it. I promise you won't regret it.
DrPhibes posted 404 days ago
"its halloween night and the group of us are having a marathon and you can bring three movies of your own to show which three movies from your collection would u choose"
I would probably bring "The Bride of Frankenstein", "Black Sunday" (with Barbara Steele) and... let's see... "Evil Dead II"... or possibly "Suspiria"... or "Horror of Dracula"... Damn! It's hard to pick just three!
DrPhibes posted 404 days ago
P.S.: CJ, I'm glad you like "The Innocents" so much. Remember, I was the one who recommended it to you!
sleepykiss posted 403 days ago
Yes, yes, thank u Dave lol. Ok, back to the 3 flicks question: Mark, those r a surprising 3 for u, I thought ud pick something gorier. Dave, I like ur choices very much. Heres my picks: EXORCIST, INNOCENTS & something new we all havent seen before. Uve both seen all the flicks I have so it would be fun to watch something new together to hear ur comments, dontcha think?

DrPhibes posted 396 days ago
"btw have u seen the invisible man returns i didnt know vincent price was the invisible man in the sequel"
Of course I've seen it. I mentioned it no more than two weeks ago, don't you remember? Great film. Vincent Price was the perfect actor to follow in Claude Rains's footsteps - he had such a dinstinctive voice.
"cant wait till next year"
Ditto! I've already started thinking about what I'm going to watch next year!
spacecasefukface posted 390 days ago
oh ya i remember you talking about it ... oh my bad memory too much work not enough play lol
