| 1 |
The Dark Knight (2008, PG-13)
In my usual style with such big scale blockbusters, I waited until all the hype calmed down before viewing this film. |
|
| 2 |
Iron Man (2008, PG-13)
An impressive film in terms of graphics, machinery and of course the actual plot and how our Superhero actually emerges. |
|
| 3 |
Ghajini (2008, Unrated)
Much more than just a Bollywood version of ?Memento?, it offers a much more in depth background story which builds nicely to a revenge plot. The occasionally songs throughout the film were entertaining and fit well as do the soundtrack songs. |

| 4 |
RocknRolla (2008, R)
As predicted Guy Ritchie?s ?RocknRolla? is even better second time around, it?s funnier more calculated and it really give you change to unclutter the complicated characters, who?s with who etc. The three of course who really stand out, even in this great cast of Actors is Tom Wilkinson, Toby Kebbell and Gerard Butler. |
|
| 5 |
Wanted (2008, R)
Even better the second time around! This film is a very slick, high Action, Assassin story, adapted from a graphic novel. |
|
| 6 |
The Bank Job (2008, R)
Surprisingly a very good film. If you're expecting a Hollywood Action film as I was (yes I didn't read up on it before I watched it) you'll be pleasantly surprised by this story. based on true events, told in a true London gangster tradition kind of way, with high ranking envolvement. |
|
| 7 |
Outlaw (2007, R) |
|
| 8 |
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007, PG-13)
This non stop Action film is exciting from start to finish. This last installment of the trilogy is by far the best. A very minor disappointment for me, was not having Paddy Considine take a bigger role (but that's just pure bias on my part). |
|
| 9 |
Beowulf (2007, PG-13)
This film is worth seeing, if only for the amazing computer images. This very life-like tale is a phonomenally creative piece. You'll recognise stars even if you didn't know they appeared in the film. |
|
| 10 |
Ocean's Thirteen (2007, PG-13) |
|
| 11 |
Transformers (2007, PG-13)
Pleasantly surprising with a good storyline. ?Transformers? is certainly effective with it?s impressive ?Robots in disguise? transformation. What made this film for me was the performance by Shia LaBeouf who is truly a natural comic. |
|
| 12 |
Rush Hour 3 (2007, PG-13) |
|
| 13 |
Shooter (2007, R) |
|
| 14 |
300 (2007, R)
Magnificant graphics and stunning, spectacular scenes in this Frank Miller graphic novel turned movie. Some great characters, some impressive fighting scenes and all of this is worthy of a good rating. |
|
| 15 |
Smokin' Aces (2007, R)
Wow, what a film! The content is so busy, that it really is hard to keep up with the plot and I?m sure will need a few more viewings before I fully understand it all. The Director has managed to capture a Tarantino style film with the well developed characters and the build up, whilst maintaining a realistic approach within the films boundaries. |
|
| 16 |
Apocalypto (2006, R)
Visually stunning, mystically enlightening. Apocalytpo is a huge accomplishment for Mel Gibson and everyone involved in the making of this film, giving us the viewers, a chance to divulge into the history of the Mayan culture. |
|
| 17 |
Mission: Impossible III (2006, PG-13) |
|
| 18 |
Blood Diamond (2006, R) |
|
| 19 |
District B13 (Banlieue 13) (2006, R)
In a not too far away look into the future, somewhere in Paris we have a gang run ghetto where nobody enters and nobody leaves. |
|
| 20 |
Lucky Number Slevin (2006, R) |
|
| 21 |
Kung Fu Hustle (2005, R) |
|
| 22 |
Sin City (2005, R) |
|
| 23 |
Ong-Bak (Ong Bak: Muay Thai Warrior) (2005, R)
Probably the best Martial Arts film ever made. With huge fight scenes, stunning choreography and comical chase scenes. |
|
| 24 |
The Protector (Tom yum goong) (Warrior King) (2005, R) |
|
| 25 |
The Island (2005, PG-13)
An impressive futuristic story, which is beyond comprehension as an outlook on our future. |
|
| 26 |
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) (2005, R) |
|
| 27 |
Mindhunters (2005, R)
Although this is a little corny in parts, it's definitely my type of movie. Criminal profilers in a situation of survival. |
|
| 28 |
Green Street Hooligans (2005, R) |
|
| 29 |
Secuestro Express (2005, R) |
|
| 30 |
Starsky & Hutch (2004, PG-13) |
|
| 31 |
I, Robot (2004, PG-13)
Impressive effects and a good futuristic story. In the earlier part of the film there were slight resemblances to Demolition Man I felt, but the story soon took on a different pace. |
|
| 32 |
Kill Bill, Volume 2 (2004, R)
Obviously you can't watch Vol 1 without watching Vol 2, quite a good marketing idea of Tarantino's. It's a bit slower moving than Vol 1 and a lot less action, but of course it does give you explanations of the whys and whats of the story. |
|
| 33 |
Shanghai Knights (2003, PG-13) |
|
| 34 |
The Last Samurai (2003, R)
A big production with some amazing views, a great quality film with a western view on the Samurai style films. It also captures the spiritual sense. |
|
| 35 |
The Recruit (2003, PG-13) |
|
| 36 |
Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003, R)
This film gets better for me with every watch. |
|
| 37 |
Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs) (2002, R) |
|
| 38 |
The Count of Monte Cristo (2002, PG-13) |
|
| 39 |
Gangs of New York (2002, R)
A hugely impressive film from Martin Scorsese, everything in the movie is on such a grand level, acting, scenery, it?s epic length. |
|
| 40 |
Minority Report (2002, PG-13) |
|
| 41 |
The Score (2001, R) |
|
| 42 |
Training Day (2001, R) |
|
| 43 |
Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer) (2001, R) |
|
| 44 |
Rush Hour 2 (2001, PG-13) |
|
| 45 |
The Intercepting Fist (2001, Unrated) |
|
| 46 |
Essex Boys (2000, R) |
|
| 47 |
Gladiator (2000, R)
I have a strange routine with big films such as this one where I tend to wait until all the hype has died down and I can watch it without jumping on the band wagon, hence, quite unbelievable I know! This is my first viewing of this film. |
|
| 48 |
Traffic (2000, R)
I was really expecting some kind of over the top, Hollywood action film and was pretty impressed to see a more serious, quite realistic type of film, with great acting. Don Cheadle is fast becoming one of my favourite actors. |
|
| 49 |
Shanghai Noon (2000, PG-13) |
|
| 50 |
The Crimson Rivers (Les Rivières pourpres) (2001, R) |
|
| 51 |
Love, Honour And Obey (2001, R)
Slightly corny, low budget English film and one I have watched so many times, a comedy slant on London Gangster's brought to you by an all star British cast. With music by Oasis and various comical kareoke songs, this film will have you laughing and wincing at the same time, my favourite watch over and over type of film. |
|
| 52 |
Payback (1999, R) |
|
| 53 |
The Matrix (1999, R)
An original and amazing idea for a film, just the notion can leave you pondering all kinds of thoughts. I enjoyed this just as much as the first time I watched it. |
|
| 54 |
The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999, R) |
|
| 55 |
8MM (1999, R)
Great film! I enjoyed this from the very first time I watched it. With scenes of a slightly pornographic nature, thi smay not be everyone's type of film, however that side of things is very much part of the plot rather than the focus of the story. There is certainly the best Private Detective story I've ever seen and although there is plenty of action in the film, Nick Cage doesn't look out of place as a more serious actor. |
|
| 56 |
Fight Club (1999, R)
Fincher's 'Fight Club' rightly takes it's place in popular film history as a classic must see. It had many levels and layers to it and some impressive graphic and camerwork. |
|
| 57 |
Rush Hour (1998, PG-13) |
|
| 58 |
Ronin (1998, R)
A much better film than I remember this being, with a plot that's fast and sometimes hard to keep up with comes great acting by an all star cast, some of the best high speed chase scenes ever to appear in films, terrorism, betrayal, great twists and turns and action packed. |
|
| 59 |
Con Air (1997, R) |
|
| 60 |
Mission Impossible (1996, PG-13) |
|
| 61 |
Heat (1995, R) |
|
| 62 |
Braveheart (1995, R) |
|
| 63 |
Pulp Fiction (1994, R) |
|
| 64 |
Natural Born Killers (1994, NC-17)
I've watched this film countless times and I could never get bored of it. As a fan of Woody Harrelson, even I didn't expect him to pull off the character of Mickey Knox as well as he did and Juliette Lewis being cast for the part of Mallory was perfection. |
|
| 65 |
True Romance (1993, R)
I'd actually forgotten I used to be a fan of Christian Slater, of course we don't seem to hear much of him now, but he and Patricia Arquette pull of this film as the main characters, accompanied of course by a strong cast of great actors. It's the ultimate story of love at first sight and of course romance. It has to be one of the funniest parts Brad Pitt has ever played. |
|
| 66 |
Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993, PG-13) |
|
| 67 |
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993, PG-13) |
|
| 68 |
The Fugitive (1993, PG-13) |
|
| 69 |
Reservoir Dogs (1992, R)
The story revolves around a robbery that you never see happen. Reservoir Dogs, a timeless piece, everytime I watch it I notice something different about it. A great cast of actors in Tarantino's debut film. I like the way Tarantino appears in his films, but only takes a small part. |
|
| 70 |
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991, R)
TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY |
|
| 71 |
Hot Shots! (1991, PG-13) |
|
| 72 |
Thelma & Louise (1991, R) |
|
| 73 |
Kickboxer (1989, R)
Ok, so Jean Claude Van Damme, wants to get revenge on behalf of someone close to him, he manages to find a martial arts guru for adequate and authentic training, he finds some spectactular way to show himself doing the splits, whilst having cheesy 80?s love songs in the background. When he eventually takes on the fighter (who is evil and much stronger), Jean-Claude finds he is no match, until right at the last moment when (through flashbacks) he remembers everything he was trained to do and let?s not forget he does a few slow motion growls? |
|
| 74 |
Bloodsport (1988, R) |
|
| 75 |
Crocodile Dundee II (1988, PG) |
|
| 76 |
Crocodile Dundee (1986, PG-13) |

| 77 |
Back to the Future (1985, PG) |
|
| 78 |
The Terminator (1984, R) |
|
| 79 |
Police Academy (1984, R) |
|
| 80 |
The Deer Hunter (1978, R)
After a slow start ?Deerhunter? evolves into an impressive piece of cinema history, with the ability to have as strong an impact today as it did at the time of it?s release. |
|
| 81 |
Enter the Dragon (1973, R)
In the era of the dubbed Martial Arts films comes the last film completed by Bruce Lee (Ch?) before his untimely death. |
|
| 82 |
The Great Escape (1963, Unrated) |
