Ghajini (2008, Unrated)
Much more than just a Bollywood version of ?Memento?, it offers a much more in depth background story which builds nicely to a revenge plot. The occasionally songs throughout the film were entertaining and fit well as do the soundtrack songs. |

The Painted Veil (2006, PG-13)
Worthy of all the recommendations, I received, I guess this story fits my liking for tragic romances. The views of China are breathtaking and great performances from Norton and Watts who managed to pass as sounding English where so many fail. |

Brokeback Mountain (2005, R)
A film that leaves you full of emotions. Not the first film to bring about the subject of Homosexuality, yet the size of publicity this film gained, both positively and negatively has probably made it the most talked about Gay Interest film. |
|
| 8 |
My Summer of Love (2004, R) |
|
| 9 |
The Island (2005, PG-13)
An impressive futuristic story, which is beyond comprehension as an outlook on our future. |
|
| 10 |
Enduring Love (2004, R)
This film was slightly odd, in that there wasn't a great storyline, it's more about the events after a balloon crash and how it effects the main characters, however the quality of the acting particularly from Daniel Craig, but also from Rhys Ifans and Samantha made this film intriguing and worth watching |

Finding Neverland (2004, PG) |

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004, R) |

The Count of Monte Cristo (2002, PG-13) |

Charlotte Gray (2001, PG-13)
Such a different perspective on a war-time film, showing this through a strong woman?s eyes, in a man?s world. This story is essentially driven by love. |
|
| 15 |
Last Resort (2001, PG-13) |
|
| 16 |
Monster's Ball (2001, R)
A bitter-sweet tale from start to finish, this film is all about breaking generational cycles of learned behaviour. The film has a very raw honesty about it and the emotions go from each extreme, from no feeling to intense feeling and is a most extroidinary tale of love and lost. |
|
| 17 |
Sliding Doors (1998, R)
?Sliding Doors? is a film that when released, finally made sense of those thoughts we all have of ?what if?? It?s a thought provoking piece which leads you to question, whether or not there is such a thing as destiny or fate and ponder many an alternative scenario. |

Meet Joe Black (1998, PG-13)
A truly bizarre notion and not one that seems plauseable in stretch of the imagination. |
|
| 19 |
Shakespeare in Love (1998, R) |
|
| 20 |
Live Flesh (Carne trémula) (1998, R) |
|
| 21 |
Titanic (1997, PG-13)
Titanic is very typical of the Big Hollywood Blockbusters that I usually avoid until all the hype is over. |
|
| 22 |
L' Appartement (The Apartment) (1996, R)
I was completely blown away by this storyline. The plot travels along steadily at first and is very 2-dimensional, but soon enough, come clever flashbacks, sub-plots and intertwining relationships, which all managed to link together and yet still keeps you surprised throughout. |
|
| 23 |
Romeo + Juliet (1996, PG-13) |
|
| 24 |
Natural Born Killers (1994, NC-17)
I've watched this film countless times and I could never get bored of it. As a fan of Woody Harrelson, even I didn't expect him to pull off the character of Mickey Knox as well as he did and Juliette Lewis being cast for the part of Mallory was perfection. |

| 25 |
Legends of the Fall (1994, R) |
|
| 26 |
Mad Dog and Glory (1993, R) |
|
| 27 |
True Romance (1993, R)
I'd actually forgotten I used to be a fan of Christian Slater, of course we don't seem to hear much of him now, but he and Patricia Arquette pull of this film as the main characters, accompanied of course by a strong cast of great actors. It's the ultimate story of love at first sight and of course romance. It has to be one of the funniest parts Brad Pitt has ever played. |
|
| 28 |
Sommersby (1993, PG-13)
Based on the story "The Return of Martin Guerre" this is a beautifully and inticately woven tale that tests the strength of love and pride. A story with powerful emotions and a dilema which is a tragedy of it's time. |
|
| 29 |
The Bodyguard (1992, R)
In Kevin Costner's acting Hey day and Whitney Houston was still a name we heard regularly, this corny, yet unique storyline emerged onto our screens with the song everyone will remember as being played over and over and over. |
|
| 30 |
Dying Young (1991, R) |
|
| 31 |
Ghost (1990, R)
It's quite unbelievable to think that this film is 18 years old. It made such an impact during it's arrival in 1990 that there can't be many people left who haven't seen this classic. |

| 32 |
Revenge (1990, R) |
|
| 33 |
ˇÁtame! (Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!) (1990, NC-17) |
|
| 34 |
Cocktail (1988, R) |
|
| 35 |
Dirty Dancing (1987, PG-13)
This film transends me straight back to my early teens, when I was much more appreciative of ?girly? films, when every girl wanted to be Baby and when the actual dirty dancing was cause for controversy. Nostalgia places this one as possibly my favourite film of the 80?s. |
|
| 36 |
Falling in Love (1984, PG-13)
I?m not sure I like De Niro so much in romantic roles, he was still pretty good in this and so was Meryl Streep, but I just prefer his other tougher roles, I guess he did too, otherwise he would have made more. Maybe the romance was not tragic enough for my liking. |
|
| 37 |
Tootsie (1982, PG)
Tootsie represents a story of man?s vision through the eyes of a woman during the 80?s. What starts out as a way of gaining employment, soon becomes a woven web of deceipt. The film takes a playful jab at the U.S. ?Soap Opera? shows and whilst Hoffman pulls off his role as a woman, it?s his real character ?Michael? who is entertaining. |

An Officer and a Gentleman (1982, R)
A film I have watched over and over since I was a kid and annoyingly know pretty much every word to. |

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982, R)
Despite being around 7 years old when I first watched this film (and not completely understanding all of it's contents) I watched this film over and over and fell in love with the costumes (how naive? ha ha). |

Somewhere in Time (1980, PG)
A truly beautiful film, a great tale of time travel, love and devotion. The beautiful Jane Seymour, somehow looks at home in the period costumes. |

Hanover Street (1979, PG) |

The Graduate (1967, PG) |

The Sound of Music (1965, G)
It?s been a while! Anyone who has visitied Austria can appreciate it?s beauty which is portrayed in the film. A very long film, which brings music, adventure, a partly true story and a political agenda. |

West Side Story (1961, Unrated) |

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954, G) |

Casablanca (1943, PG)
Through the first half of this film, I couldn?t help wondering what the appeal really was and was beginning to think that it was a very overrated movie, the ending however, changed my whole opinion on the film and was really quite enjoyable. |
