  76Majikat's Rating My Rating
1
Michael Clayton (2007,  R)
Michael Clayton
A dull and disappointing Action Thriller, that simply lacked umph and struggled to grasp my concentration.
2
Irresistible (2006,  R)
Irresistible
An enjoyable paranoid Thriller, where the acting seemed to vary a little throughout and ranged from really enjoyable to some slightly annoying moments.

The plot is certainly what this film is all about and the build up toward the paranoia was dealt with fairly realistically, but does have it?s flaws. The twist, I felt was a little predictable, which was a little disappointing and of course resulted in losing some marks for me when I was rating it.

The slightly odd ending left me feeling I may have missed something, but looking at others' reviews I feel this was just one of those endings that was left this way for effect (?).

This is certainly a film worthy of watching and I?m sure I?ve given it more negative comments than it actually deserves.

The Net 2.0 (2006,  R)
The Net 2.0
Same concept, different person, different situation, different Country. A relatively short film that seems to go on forever. It's very predictable and quite corny, but watchable and of course it's not on par with the first.
4
Requiem for a Dream (2000,  R)
Requiem for a Dream
Requiem for a dream is a cleverly put together story, showing the lives of four drug addict, three addicted to narcotics and one to prescribed drugs.

The acting is great all around, the creative filming allows the viewer to understand the feelings of the characters and the music really dramatizes the situation.

Best performance has to go to Ellen Burstyn
5
The Game (1997,  R)
The Game
Extremely far fetched, but a really great, exciting, fascinating and entertaining, Action film.

One of my favourite, watch over and over type of films.
6
Conspiracy Theory (1997,  R)
7
The Net (1995,  PG-13)
The Net
If you like your conspiricy films and you haven't watched this one, I recommend you do.
8
The Pelican Brief (1993,  PG-13)
9
JFK (1991,  R)
JFK
My first viewing of this film and from others I am led to believe that even the details of the film are incorrect and almost a conspiracy in itself??

As possibly one of the biggest conspiracy theories in history, the film is big in terms of it?s star cast, it?s investigation, the content and script with some dialogue running for a fair while without breaking scenes, (in particular the scene with Donald Sutherland).

Good performances all around and made for intriguing viewing.
10
The Tenant (1976,  R)
The Tenant
The biggest problem with this film, is that it is incredibly drawn out, however, it?s storyline is captivating and Polanski plays a great main role as well as Directing this piece, plus all the characters have been very well developed.

The story evolves well into a world of conspiracy and paranoia, this was conveyed well from the build up of the story.

There were a few badly dubbed scenes, but despite it?s drawn out length, this is a film to be remembered.
11
The Conversation (1974,  PG)
The Conversation
This is a hard film to rate, it feels like the type of film which will be highly rated among big film buffs and yet, I found it painful to endure until about 15 minutes from the end, when in complete contrast the film becomes really enjoyable.

I?m certainly interested to see what others thought of it.
12
Rosemary's Baby (1968,  R)
Rosemary's Baby
Claims to be 'possibly the best horror film ever made', well I wouldn't go that far, but it was certainly one of the better horror films of that time, of course the term 'horror' used for this movie is far from what we would call 'horror' in this day and age.

Reading the synopsis, kind of gives the story away a little too much.

There was something pretty intriguing about Mia Farrow in this film.
