Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964,  PG)
Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Stanley Kubrick's cold war satire kept me laughing all the way throigh with its smart jokes. This is a real comedy. It doesn't rely on to lots of sex jokes or the use of bad language in every sentence, just on the brilliant mind of Kubrick. The place you can never go wrong.

Another fantastic, unexpected ending, as is the case of a lot of other Kubrick films. Another set of talented actors who do their outstanding best, another great directing job from Kubrick, another classic film.

The Big Lebowski
The first time I viewed this, my opinon of it was that it was a 4 star film. I will admit that was because it was late at night and I found it harder to follow the plot. Now I have seen it for a second time, I have decided it is a 5 star film, and the Coens' second best (after Fargo), a big jump from when it wazs my least favourite of the Brothers.

I love the clever and complex plot, I love the humor (I was laughing all the way through) and I love everything else about this picture.

When it comes to making a great film, the Coen's come high above others, and always make a unique picture, different from any of their other films, and different from anything else ever done before.

Airplane!
This is one of the funniest spoofs of all time. A classic ZAZ feature film.

I laughed at the obvious jokes, but I laughed even more at the backround jokes. If you are going to watch the film, watch behind the action too because that is where the funniest gags lay. After a 3rd viewing I still found things I had missed. I also only noticed another great comedy moment when it was pointed out in the directors commentary.

This is the perfect comedy to make you laugh and to place you in a good mood because no matter of how silly it is, it is done with pure comic perfection and is without a doubt one of the best comedy's you will ever see. iIf you want an example of "They just don't make 'em like this anymore", this is the one.
