This movie is impressive! I scowl at those people who have rated this yet do not have a geist of what theater or art is all about. A good cast, wonderful acting and a unique story. Majestic, classy, unique and a good mixture of the modern world and the old ways. Two thumbs up!! Movie Quote: "Eklavya was a low caste warrior of unsurpassable
skills. When Eklavya outclassed the royal princes in the art of archery, the man he had idolized as his mentor, the great guru Dronacharya, asked of him a
terrible gift in return for his tutelage: his right thumb"
Note: If youre gonna get this movie, get it with the subtitles or english translations. I assure you, Its worth it :)
"The worst mistake that you can make is to think you're alive, when really you're asleep in life's waiting room."
Every once in a while, you get an epiphany about how the world works, but how much do you ponder about them? Have you ever asked yourself, how did 'words' come about? Do you ever think about wavelengths?
--- Or, how about, have you ever experienced dreaming within a dream? Are you aware of yourself when youre in a REM state? How about when youre having a nightmare? Do you try to control it, or do you just go and "float" along in that world thats inside your head?
The film is definitely worth watching. Its a double bombardment of visuals and ideology, if you dont want to think too much you can just look at the screen, but I suggest you enjoy both of the elements that the film offers.
The movie is in english, but with the kind of conversations that goes on in this film, I have to suggest that you view it with the subtitles on. --- And for anyone whos into multimedia, dont forget to check out the Special Features!
Other movie info: The film had several nominations and had won 5 awards which include "Best Experimental Film" and "Best Animated Film" in 2001-2002.
Proper review to follow. Too tired. --Serious film, brutal 5 minute torture scene. Its quite a complicated story but I think the director managed to pull it off quite nicely. The trailer is a bit deceiving though.
"Is God the Author of Evil? In this question, St. Augustin begins his dialogue on free will.... he finds no answer. --- Marquis de Sade sneeringly replies that evil is essential to the vicious organization of this Universe."
The story takes you to Munich, Germany, where Von Gall Sr. is being tortured by a Nazi officer. The Nazis are trying to extract the access codes of several Swiss bank accounts from this man, which were being used to fund the underground resistance to help Jews escape and start over.
A pretty gripping movie with a superb cast! Brutality and sadism, gentleness and innocence, chess in a time of war, I thought the story was extremely amazing! It had me glued to the screen waiting in anticipation on whats going to happen next, there were a lot of heart pinching scenes, and a lot of eye candy from the sets to the actors, it was all well drawn, but maybe they overdid some of the sets?
Thomas Sansgard is one brilliant actor! Ive seen him in Hitler: Rise of Evil (among the list of kiddie and non-kiddie films hes been in) and Im definitely looking forward to watching more of his movies! --- Oh, and one of the villains in this movie is.. tortuously, maddeningly sexy! :P'

1998: Stephen Glass worked for The New Republic Magazine. He was the youngest staff member of a team that was composed of 15 journalists/editors.
He wrote articles that entertained people, made them laugh, and raised the eyebrows of those that he'd written about. He attracted a lot of attention, and was very much liked by his co-workers. Until Forbes stepped in and asked for his sources for "Hack Heaven."
"The in-flight magazine of Air Force One... and their star goes out and gets completely snowed by a bunch of hackers?! "
Pretty interesting since it happened in real life, Ive seen way too many "prestigious" newspapers having incorrect info on their articles, or glossied up facts, but fiction after fiction, printed out as fact? Hey, you only get that from tabloids right? You cant possibly get those on political magazines and newspapers! Guess again!
Theres some intense drama here, awesome shouting scenes, perfect acting, even the blinking of the eyes for when youre lying is taken into consideration, the office scenes were the ones that I could really relate to, the good boss, the stiff boss, the clown, the tough chic, the suck up. It was all very easy to sink into. And damn, what a way to ruin a career!

Rewatchability: 3/5 Stars Highly Recommended for Yuppies!
The present world is derelict and uninhabitable, a deadly virus has wiped off half of mankind. Those that have not been infecteded are now forced to live underground.
The story might leave its viewers perplexed on the first watch, but its also what makes this movie so great, as you can debate so much of it with your friends.
The acting and storyline is superb, I loved the way Brad Pitt played the bizarro-eccentric-lunatic character in this flick!
Its definitely one great mystery, science-fiction, thriller movie. It has an almost perfect story line, a couple of intelectual punchlines and the film scores a very high rewatchability on my chart. This movie is a smart delectable treat, and the tandem of Willis and Pitt just makes this all the more a must have.
Highly Recommended! The soundtrack itself only gets a 3 1/2 star rating though.

Now thats what Im talkin about! Punisher Warzone is by far the BEST Punisher movie ever made!
Gun totting, adrenaline pumped, extremely grotesque kill shots, Oh yeah! That was bloody awesome!
So it has a few cheezy lines, but I found them quite bareable. A bit over dramatic at some point, and it still had a few holes in it most especially on the villains part of the story. If youre able to get past those then you'll be able to enjoy this.
Im not a comic geek so I cant really say if this was spot on or what, but I was able to watch the other Punisher movies before and I didnt like the one with Thomas Jane and can barely remember the one with Dolph Lundgren in it, but I can actually watch this one over and over again. Bring on the bullets! Yeehaw!!

The words "Romancing Guevara" came to mind about 30 mins right after I started watching this film.
A 2 part biopic of the legendary icon. Part One shows Guevarra starting of as a doctor, and how he chose to take in a bigger role in Fidel Castros cuban revolution.
As much as I liked this film, I only have 3 complaints about it. It was just too long and confusing at times, as there were parts on the film that jumped from one scene to another, but as far as how it shows Che's life, and his ideals and beliefs, Soderbergh and Del Torro did a pretty good job with it. I cant help but be amazed at this man and what he did for his country, his courage, his thoughts and what he had managed to become at a very young age.
I thought it was all very informative, but maybe they shouldve sold the DVD as a set and not separately. I thought I was getting both parts when I got it. Pfft!
Anyway, just make sure you get a comfy chair and youre not stressed out when you watch this, as its.. a very, very long movie and youll need to watch it with the subtitles on.
The film is more of a backstory about the legendary Princess of the Amazons, way before "The JLA" (refering to the original Justice League) and how Dianna ended up being in New York.
I think it was pretty clever, a little dash of Shakespeare and Greek Mythology mixed with a serious amount of feminist views, some battle scenes were quite epic-esque and the whole film itself was well drawn. They somewhat modernized it but the alterations were pretty clean cut and it still worked well for the film.
Its not a perfect film, and I think its also more suitable for the older kids (preferrably for ages 13 up), but its actually worth watching. The ladies will like it more than the lads tho.

Set in a time where Jews were hunted down, Rachel Stein, a singer that comes from a Jewish wealthy family, had to go into hiding in order to survive the holocaust. On her journey, she had suddenly become a spy for the resistance and ended up working closely with the Nazis. If they should ever find out her true identity, she would be taken out instantly.
Jane Bond near the end of World War II. Thrilling, sexy, addictive, alluring and strangely captivating. A bit long but every scene in the movie made sense and didnt feel like it was stretched or anything of the sort. An instant classic!
This was one of those 90s movies that I found quite intriguing and yet very disturbing when I was a kid. I just saw it again on tv the other day and just realized how many good actors were in this movie, at that time some of them were just starting out. I think Im gonna try to find a copy of this at the stores.
"The only way to get smarter is by playing a smarter opponent." The Fundamentals of Chess; 1885
Complicated, mad, riveting, ambitious and cunning!
Revolver is a delicious mind-fck of a movie, titherring on the edge of madness and trippyness, switching from your average film photography style to a dark animated cartoon scene and back. Guy Ritchie also inserts a couple of techno-flash film lighting effects that'll leave its vewiers either mesmerized or squinting from eye strain.
Not a lot of people will appreciate its complex screen-story telling. I personally liked the story and thought the script and the actors were brilliant, but was Ritchie testing out a couple of filming tricks with this film? I think so...
I wanted to give this 4 1/2 stars because I did truelly enjoy watching it, the only reason why I slashed off half the star was because I felt like some of the photography techniques didnt mesh well with the story.
Its best to watch with a relaxed mind otherwise youll end up being left behind and confused. I have to say that I really enjoyed shrieking with glee in anticipation of figuring out whos got the 1up on who!
Forget The Matrix, Forget Oceans 11! Do you want to play Russian Roulette? Revolver will definitely blow your brains out!
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
My knowledge of Hitlers life and Germanys History is not yet to that level of what I want it to be, but basing from what Ive already read and know, its actually a pretty good film. Its NOT perfect, but its good enough to give you goosebumps.
I want to give this movie a perfect 5, but I feel that there were some scenes that I couldnt really agree upon. About the time of World War I when Hitler was a messenger, and the questionable "script" they placed to what little they actually touched on Hitlers childhood.
The movie subltly, and slowly gives out some sort of misinformation, you might call it an opinionated character bashing, which I think is so not necessary for this type of film and story. Hitler was a madman, but I think there is no need for the "evil exaggeration", but as far as the casting, acting and directing went, it was perfect, its just really the slight alterations on the story that made me slash off half a star in my rating.
This is a 2 part film, and its 3 hours long, but nonetheless interesting. When the movie was about to end, I thought that I was gonna be left hangging, but they did make up for it before the credits rolled in.
(I have a fascination for this slice of history, mainly because I want to understand and know the truth about what happened during that time. I feel robbed of this story/knowledge because exclusive all girls catholic schools dont put this on the curriculumn.)
Best viewed back to back with Hitler - eine Karriere, which is a very interesting and intriguing old documentary that actually shows the real people as themselves.
*Ill just redo this review some other time. Too tired to make a proper one../font>
Kevin Spacey: "Shut up, listen, and learn. You have no brain. No judgement calls are necessary. What you think means nothing. What you feel means nothing."
Hehehe! Love this one! Perhaps a good video to give a new graduate, or to someone who had just started working, it would be very pretty with a note that says: WELCOME TO THE WORLD! :P
The original cast of Capcoms Resident Evil 2 returns!
Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield once again crosses paths, 7 years after Racoon City.
Resident evil game fanatics will surely love the additional characters and familiar faces that will come up in this full CGI movie. It follows thru what happened after the RE2 game story. Umbrella is no more, but like the virus, the evil has managed to get a hold of something else.
A couple of scenes in the movie actually reminded me of Final Fantasy, and even though RE is supposed to be horryfying, certain scenes were made to be funny, and some scenes were definitely placed in there to stir up its viewers emotions. If some scenes dont grab you at all, youll still have plenty to choose from.
This is definitely worth getting for your collection. 5 minutes from the start of the flick yould already be pumped up from the action, and if you havent fallen in love with one of the characters by the time the movie has finished, whoaa... Are you sure youre not infected?

"That's not possible. I was standing right there. I saw what happened. We all saw what happened..."
Heres a movie thatll grab you and get you stuck on your seat from start to finish! The first time I saw this movie, I was absolutely psyched out! It reminded me of 2 of my all time favorite books (*Book titles intetionally withheld for the review.)
Although the plot story might be somewhat familiar, it still holds something that it can call its own. Borrowing 2 different concepts from separate genres and intertwining them together didnt mess up this movie at all, infact, the it resulted into a interesting story with more than a handful plot twists that are just... to die for, hehehe!
Overall, I do think that the blending and execution of the story was well made, the casting, acting and script were fitting. This was a gorgeous mind-ckuf movie. Worthy of seeing again, and again, and again! --- Well, unless youre one of those people who seem to be contented to "know it all" already yet totally missing out on why it was done such and such.. Dont be too cocky, you mightve missed out something.
Easter Egg: If you get the main characters history, (or if you ever paid any attention to it) yould actually see something interesting when you finish this movie. Otherwise, yould think differently.

"Dance! Nothing left for me to do but dance! Got canned heat in my heels tonight yeah yeah!" ~Jamiroquai
The film is 1/4ths a theater ballet show, 1/2 individual and group dancing, and the rest of it takes you to each of the 3 students lives after getting in the ballet academy, all the while trying to exert their best efforts to be the right person to be selected to join the prestigious American Ballet Company.
Dont be turned off with the movie poster and the plot, its actually a very beautiful movie. Ill just leave out my personal comments as to why I knocked off half a star for this film
Its the end of term in Cutlers Grammar School, eight bright young lads just got their A-level results. The headmaster is bent up on getting these boys in Oxford and Cambridge, and have asked three teachers to help the kids with their university entrance exams.
Well, this is what happens when you make a theater play like this one into a film, it gets edited to fit homeviewing (meaning, there were alterations made.)
I still enjoyed watching it, although I dont think most people would get some scenes and some of the humor in it. The story isnt just all about history and the boys trying to get into Oxbridge, its about the diverse characters relationships and stories with each other.
"Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on."
Cover is a pretty good film that everyone should try to watch atleast once in their life.
Although they chose to portray the issues within the black community, I thought they did a good job in conveying their message of social awareness to the public.
In real life, the issues that the movie tackles arent confined within the black community, its happening everywhere, married or just going out, how well do you really know the person your sleeping with? How about the one youre going out with? Okay, you might say that it sounds like a "relationship movie", well its not. Its actually like pizza, its got a little bitta this n that. Oh, just go ahead and watch it already!!!
On other things, some might get turned off with it because of the ff:
1. the very lame plot/synopsis written for the movie 2. Religious context 3. Stupid reviews written by other people, most especially when its being compared to Brokeback Mountain.... theyre sooo off the point..
To do the movie some justice, I assure you that watching this isnt the same as reading that lame plot, and although some people prefer to *ahem* veer away from the preachy religious typa movies, well.. okay it might have some scenes where its all about being good and some of the characters try to preach the other about God, but if you actually look carefully, you might see how conflicted we are as human beings (and how hypocritical we might be because of our opinions and beliefs)
Suprisingly enough, there were very few annoying characters in it, (which most movies of this genre seem to have a lot of; Yknow, to get the audiences emotions all rilled up, like, damn that bastard! lol!) Anyway, I thought that kid (Jimmy Bennet) did very good acting!
The story actually came from a novel by Paul William Gallico in 1969.
Havent seen the first film (The Poseideon Adventure - 1972), maybe Ill try to watch that as well, but for this movie alone, I found it to be AWESOME!
Dont really care what others had to say, I found it good and thrilling, had me hooked every step of the way!
Tight gripping! Dont forget to breathe! *2 thumbs up!*
"A man cannot call himself work contented, until he has done all he can, to be of service to his employer." ~Mr. Stevens
Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins reunite in this movie after Howards End. Mr. Stevens (Anthony Hopkins) is a butler and an institution by himself at Darlington Hall. See how he goes by his life day by day amist whats going on inside the Manor, and get to know the other characters perspective of the dear ol' butler.
I thought this was a powerful, thought provoking film. Theres too much "essence" in this film that Ill just have to decline in even trying to tackle the things in it.
I think this movie is quite close to home for some of those people that serve their life as a house help and for those who do have the knowledge and priviledge of what its like to have highly devoted and excelent help. This movie reminds me of my beloved nanny Leizel.
*Yeah ok its not a proper review - cant be arsed to write anything properly these days. I still say go ahead and watch it, then tell me what you thought of it.
I was harsh in judging this movie when it first came out, everybody seemed like they were all just sooo into Brad Pitt that I never even bothered to watch this straight, atleast until today.
The story starts of slow, prim and purely conversational and thats what gave me the idea before that it was a dull movie and everybody was just over-exaggerating about it cuz Brad Pitt was in it.
After 10 years, (Wow.. its been that long?) I finally sat thru the whole movie and even suprised myself that I actually enjoyed it.
The first quarter of this movie was a bit of a snooze, but they made up for it eventually and had managed to leave its viewers highly strung on emotions at the very last scene.
"In 1987 Huey released this, Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think I their undisputed masterpiece is "HiP To Be Square," a song so catchy that most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself."~Patrick Bateman
I havent read the book, but for once I think Im contented with not hunting down the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis.
One thing about the story is that people easily confuse it with PSYCHO (Hitchcock/Bloch). Its not a remake or a modernized version of the 1960s film, and sad to say only a handful of people get the twisted humor in it, and what the film is really about..
Its a very poweful and demented story as it shows the american social psychology (and perhaps the definition? *no pun intended) of success. It mirrors the pressure of being in an ivy league environment, to be the best in everything, to be ontop of things, to be better than all the rest, how all of this can develop into to having a megalomanic kind of character. Seriously, how many of you get angry when youre not the best in something? How many of you feel close to breaking point when someone else tops you or whatever you have? Be careful, your sanity might be slipping.
A Scandinavian film based on the fictional character of Arn Magnusson and one of his crusades as a Knights Templar. The story is set from the Middle Ages, and tells the story of his life, his love, his relationship with the true king of Sweden and how the young boy became a Knight Templar.
I think the story is a bit complex, perhaps most especially if youre not familiar with the swedish literature, but if you loved the Kingdom of Heaven then you will most definitely like this movie.
I cant believe people have rated this just with 3 1/2 stars! The acting was good, and when the movie ended I was like, what? Noo! I want more!! Maybe the general rating for this is only 3 1/2 cuz the story isnt very well known?? Or perhaps its because I havent really read the books yet?? Im confused, I actually found it to be a good film, its a very impressive swedish film and I cant help but wonder if Hollywood tried to rip this off with Kingdom of Heaven. I still have a lot of questions regarding Muslims and Jerusalem... I wish someone would answer them really.
For the bookworms, try to see The Knight Templar (Crusades) Trilogy by Jan Guillou. - Vägen till Jerusalem (The Road to Jerusalem), Tempelriddaren (The Knight Templar) and Riket vid vägens slut (The Kingdom at the End of the Road). -- Ill try to grab a hold of the books too when I can. :P
House of 1000 Corpses - Rob Zombies directorial debut in the film industry, this film is almost like his homage to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, nonetheless it was an awesome retrographic horror film! The cast did a great job with the acting, the image slaps were very retro. Loads of clowns (and trailer trash?)
Historia: Due to nuclear testing in the American west prior to the Cold War, an entire mining community has been mutated into horrific cannibals.
Sick, Sadistic and Twisted, Enjoy the ride ghouls and boils! HaHAhahAHhaAHAaa!!
The Devils Rejects - More action than horror, nonetheless very entertaining. This is a continuation of the story from Rob Zombies first film "House of 1000 Corpses", if you jump right in and watch this without watching the first film you might not really understand or even like anything about it.
Anyway like I said, the story carries out from the first film and now the Firefly family finds themselves in trouble from a justice seeking Sherrif.
Dirty, Dark, Brutal, Twisted & Sadistic. Very retro filming, Very awesome directing and very, unequally disturbing.
Honestly I dont know much about Americas History, but I do know that non-fiction films like these will never really portray or even be 98% accurate from the real thing, however... I found this movie to be superb. The 1st fight scene showed more like a dance choreography, but the rest were pretty good. If you like watching stuff with lots of moral dillemas, youll like watching this one.
--- I want to get a copy the book where they "loosely" based this movie from.
Awards: "Gangs of New York won the Golden Globe Award of Best Director - Motion Picture for Martin Scorsese and Best Original Song for the song "The Hands That Built America" by U2. Daniel Day-Lewis won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role & the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. It was nominated for 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. However, the film was largely overshadowed by Chicago, which took half of the awards for which Gangs of New York was nominated." - wikipedia
Worth watching, worth collecting, get a copy now!!
Wether the film (or the comic from which it was taken from) was acurate or inacurate about the history, I could hardly care.
Its a film that came from a comic book ffs, maybe people should rate it like that, how good of a movie it is and how close it is from the comic and not from the history books. Duh! Loosen up stiffs.
The movie ended with me wanting to see more of it, so it really captured my taste. How so? The visuals were way awesome, and the fight scenes was just the right kind of action that suited my hankering for blood and gore. The cinematography is breathtakingly beautiful, what a great masterpiece! The visuals and soundtrack music used was sewn so carefully and neatly along with the powerful delivery of such dramatic and oh so catchy lines, the actors were just as spectatular and brilliant as the CGI.
This was awesome to the awesomeness of the most awesome degree! MWAH! FABULOSO! MAGNIFICO!
*Insert: Eeeeee! David Wenham!! ^_^ !!! I love him! lol!
I found the casting weird but effective, the story was good, has a lot of morals.
On first glance at the casting, I thought.. well okay is this some sort of test on who trumps who in the ____ rate category? Suprisingly enough the actors mixed well together.
Not a big fan of Steve Carell, in fact I really dont dig him at all most expecially when he tries to be funny, but his acting and role here was completely different.
Just watched it again, after 14 years, back then I never really appreciated this cuz I was a bit too young to understand the story, but damn this move rocked! I dont want to spoil anything for those who havent watched this, but for some odd reason, watching this again (2008) reminded me of a lot of things...
I wonder if The Hardy Boys (WWE) got theirr signature move (the Swanton Bomb) and their getup from this movie. Hmmnn...
Damn this movie had it all, action, cheezy, heroics, vengeance, the damned heartbroken lover, fantasy, and even watching the stupid characters didnt give me a headache.
Im not going to rate this and compare it to todays generation of filmmaking cuz that would be unfair, so Im gonna rate this according to how films were made back then.
This one was rockin awesome! The soundtrack was cool as hell too, ((STP, NIN, RATM, J&MC, The Cure)) This ones a gold classic!!
Hard to focus on who to look at when Catherine Zeta Jones and Rene Zellwegger performs on stage, one has a face of a goddess while the other has a more fit bodess.
Havent met a woman who didnt like or love Richard Gere, loved his performances! (altho Im pretty sure he didnt do the tapdancing, it was still a nice visual).
I exeptionally loved the Cell Block Tango to bits and pieces!
Oh la! Oh ley! A-Razzle-Dazzle! And all that Jazz! ;)
Not a movie review but more of a personal reaction:
I thought this movie had a huge amount of grimness from quite a few favorites. A pinch of Edward Scisorhands, a pinch of villains from Harry Potter, and for some odd reason.. Jamie Bower reminded me of my 5 yr ex... (gee.. I actually mentioned favorites before that line.. ergh...) *bangs head on wall!!!*
Pretty kewl for a musical comedy movie. Fun to watch, the first singing scene had pretty shoddy actors but once you get past that its all good and easy to sink into.
Mixes old style type of musical tv shows with broadway.
Wowowee have a load full of Uma Thurmans legs! She is absolutely stunning! (Im not bi, I just have an eye for beauty!) Oh and, I loved the "the Fab 6", (minus the 6th!) lol!!
"Spring time for Hitler and Germanyyyy!!"
"Make it Gay! Make it Gay! Make it Gaaayy!" -- Yeah, found it quite catchy, now I cant get the songs outta my head!
--that scene where they were showing deuchland, reminded me of the nursery rhyme jack and jill??
Just saw clips of the 1968 - The Producers too, not bad either, but ofcourse I think this one is more suited for todays generation.
Pretty complex story, not really something I managed to understand in one sitting. The story unfolds quite slowly, but it manages to keep its viewers hooked by the intrigue of unravelling things one at a time, meshed with the intensly stunning visuals.
Personally, I think they went extremely over the top on the visuals, I dont think they needed that much to make the movie work, but it didnt manage to ruin the movie at all, infact it made it quite full to watch (for the analyically impaired). hehehe!
The some parts of the movie is mixed from Chinese classical novels and literature, so it might be a bit confusing (or even absolutely nonsensical) for those who dont know about it.
Xuanzang (in the story he is called as Tripitaka), is a budhist monk that is on a pilgrimage to india, to obtain Bhuddist religious texts called Sutras. He is accompanied by 3 protectors during his journey, namely Sun Wukong (the Monkey King), Zhu Bajie (the Pig Monk), and Sha Wujing (the Sand Monk).
The story takes place on middle earth, when they arrive in the city of Sache.....
Although the plot displaying on the movie board says that its a love story, honestly, theres so much more to it than that, theres evil tree spirits, a millenium bug deamon (lol crazy !), swarms of bug soldiers, lizard people, imps, and time travelers from the future.
Hawayy! I loved the CGI! It reminded me very much of Final Fantasy slash Stargate slash (Dragon ball Z??!)
Okay so the movie made me cry a bit, ehehe! I wasnt really expecting to be blown away by this, this exceeded my expectations by a mile wide! I was only expecting cheezy comedy when I got this, but lo and behold Im very suprised and quite pleased with this one! :D
Im mighty interested with getting a copy of the Journey to the West (book), all just because of this movie.
Please keep in mind that this movie is, as the title says, A TALL TALE, it is not to be analyzed or taken so seriously. It is after all a chinese comedy/drama/fantasy/sci-fi/action-adventure movie, and their target market included kids.
Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weiz stars in a most controversial film that has been both scrutinized and criticized in every way that it is possible.
What makes this movie so intriguing is that it actually shows a lot of near dark truths to what is happening and what has been happening in Africa.
Even though the novel was released in 2001 (as a fiction), I cant help but think that theres some sort of indirect storytelling in the movie, say, a black bag story about Pfizers controversy in Africa?
Loved it! Loved the soundtrack, loved the brutality, loved the casting, the scripts and the acting! The image slaps were somewhat good but I think not everyone who'd watch this would understand the concept behind it.
John McGinley (Dr. Cox from Scrubs), Aaron Eckhart (Thank You for Smoking), Jim Brown (who I always confuse with Vinnie Rhymes) and Matthew Modine also had little roles in this film.
Even though this was an all star cast, I.. dont really see myself watching this again, unless its on HBO or something, but Ill definitely be hunting down the songs on the soundtrack!
Its a movie that you have to atleast watch once. A few of Al Pacinos speeches were good. Cameron Diaz, mmm I think she did a pretty good job, its just that.. the ending confused me a bit, but then again Im not a sports nut.. so I wont really bother in completely understanding that little scene at the ending.
Okay, what?! Donald Sutherland was in this?? How come I never spotted him while I was watching it?
I liked a lot of lines on this one. The intro was somewhat winded, but it was an interesting angle shot anyway. (At the start where they show the "life" of a bullet).
Cage did a great job, I think if they had gotten someone else it wouldnt have had that certain touch which only Cage can give. Hawkes lines were pretty good too, but.. something was sort of a miss with his character and I dont really know what it is.
It bothers me a bit that they had to put a small amout of drug use on this tho. But I guess without the "bram-bram" and the coke sniffing this wouldnt have turned out as good. Meh, maybe Im just trying to look for a MOD movie that doesnt have anything to do with the other. (is that too much to ask? Is that impossible???) Hmmm.. anyway.. dammit who was Sutherland in here? How the heck did I miss that?!! --- Okay.. he only did the voice of one of the characters.
Hehe! I could get a few things from this movie! Loved the MOD squad! Man, I wonder what its like to have that kind of talent. The ultimate spinster, hehe!! This was fun to watch, well its really more of a verbal movie, but I liked it anyway.

I have a lot of questions about it tho, muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, so did they fight only for the strategic location of Jerusalem? Was it because it was the highest point in that location to worship??? How is Jerusalem "everything" for them???
Hmm, well a lot of you have recommended watching the directors cut, so I think Ill go ahead and look for it.
"Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.
If that sounds like a recipe for serious gloom and doom -- think again. With wit, smarts and hope, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH ultimately brings home Gore's persuasive argument that we can no longer afford to view global warming as a political issue - rather, it is the biggest moral challenges facing our global civilization."
It is fascinating how one can perceive this flick. Listen carefuly, watch it carefully, there is more to this documentary than talks about global warming. -- what I think aside and focusing more on how this documentary was packaged to the public, is worthy enough for a good rating.
For the conspiracy theorists out there, tell me what you think about this flick. Id like to hear your thoughts about this.
"Its not unusual to be loved by anyone..." Bwahaha! This movie cracks me up! Silly! Crazy! Childish nonsensical fun! Oh, and I started to like Tom Jones cuz of this movie, hehehe!
The movie is a kind of slow drama that is heart wrenching. The main character is the daughter of a brilliant mathematician. He went crazy at about her age. For the last five years she's been taking care of him when no one else will, giving up her dreams to do it. A week before the movie starts, he died. He has over a hundred notebooks that he wrote basically nonsense in during the last five years. His grad student is going through them. The main character's mothering sister is coming out for the funeral. The main character, Catherine, has to deal with the loss of her father, the possibility she too will go crazy, and with the people in the house she's lived in for most of her life. She's brilliant, also. Will she, too, go crazy? Is she crazy now?
