Double Happiness (1995,  PG-13)
Double Happiness
A Canadian film which gives an inside look at a chinese family who's immigrated to N. America. The facades of perfection and the strict ideals affect the happiness of each of them one by one. Young Sandra Oh is an exceptional actress, she is beautiful in this role. The interactions with the character of her younger sister (who was also a pretty good little actress) are dear :)

La Science des Rêves (The Science of Sleep) (2006,  R)
La Science des Rêves (The Science of Sleep)
A french film but in english and by the same fellow who made Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. This is a VERY imaginative and sweet love story about a man who has trouble living in the real world and is constantly mixing up his reality with his dreams. At the same time a sweet attractive woman moves in next door who finds his imagination akin to her own and they weave together a stop filmography dreamworld. Fun and entertaining but, very jumbled and at times hard to watch or follow.

Lars and the Real Girl
Despite the fact that this looks like my boyfriend's movie.... (the one he was planning on making the year this one was filmed and he lives in Toronto where this movie was filmed out of ... ) I liked this film. Perhaps it was merely conincedance that two movies had the same idea for a main plot. Regardless, this movie was nominated for best, most original, screen play at the oscars!!
I have to say that it was well written, well acted and well made in every way. I love this movie...
