In Bruges (2008, R)
Very funny dark comedy - never thought much of Colin Farrell before (except that he needed a shave) but he really does have the acting chops to back up the rest. Brendan Gleeson is wonderful, as always and Ralph Fiennes had a very unusual part. Really recommend for those who are not afraid to laugh at dark comedy! |

You Kill Me (2007, R)
I loved this movie. Although the AA meetings are very unlike the real thing, Ben Kingsley is brilliant (as always) as the hitman with a drinking problem. He makes him truly human and you really root for the poor guy, no matter what his occupation. Luke Wilson is outstanding as his sponsor and although I normally don't like Tea Leoni, she was fine here. Very highly recommend! |

War, Inc. (2008, R)
Very, very funny. I could do without Hilary Duff, but I guess she was one of the few starlets around that wasn't in rehab (at this moment). John Cusack was wonderful as the conflicted hitman and Marisa Tomei got to play a strong, independent woman with no apologies. Ben Kingsley - as always - is superior. Highly recommend! |
