My Bloody Valentine 3-D (2009,  R)
My Bloody Valentine 3-D
Not much of a good story & didn't care how things turn out tours the end,but besides that, everything else works. From start to finish, this film delivers non stop bloody action, gore, big body count, awesome death kills & great score.Way better than the original.I didn't get around to see this on 3D,otherwise i probably would've gave this a higher rating.

Friday the 13th (2009,  R)
Friday the 13th
Marcus Nispel scores again with another remake of a cult/horror film. This remake is my favorite slasher film.Nispel camera work at times is stunning. Is such a well made film with great score, editing, death scenes & some outstanding effects.Only thing that could've been done,is to go back a little, just to show Jason story as a kid,but it was a fast pace film & straight to the point.I can see the approach for this new version, just having Jason taking care of business. It was brutal in Crystal Lake.Best one of the Friday the 13th saga.Brutal!!!

Martyrs (2008,  R)
Martyrs
Martyrs is a provocative, disturbing, brutal & creepy film.A well done film with great editing, score, effects & great performances from the leading actors. But i have to say that i did like better the first half of the film, second half loses is momentum with some repetitive torture sequences.Don't want to give anything away, but there's a great graphic moment tours the end that reminds me of Hellraiser, but getting tours the end by the way things were heading with the story,i knew that the conclusion was gonna be a love or hate moment.I was a bit disappointed with the ending.

Orphan (2009,  R)
Orphan
Wasn't sure what to make out of Orphan in the first half, got me laughing few times & some things felt too odd coming from this evil little Esther.I had a feeling there's got to be something going on with this character,so the movie can make some sense in a way or logic. All i have to say is that the twist was a good one & now it makes sense. Is a thought provoking film, perhaps disturbing or twisted for others. It does go to a territory that other horror films haven't been yet.

The Last House on the Left (2009,  R)
The Last House on the Left
This remake is an improvement over its predecessor.Wes Craven is producing remakes of his films, from "The Hills Have Eyes" & now "The Last House On The Left".Both remakes are way better than the original. What really saves this film is the performances that are good & the characters are believable. The film manage to deliver few graphic scenes, but only one death scene really stands out.The film can get brutal & suspenseful, but could've deliver better death scenes, specially tours the end.The ending was mediocre & over the top.The film has some flaws, but i still enjoy the film & will recommend to other horror fans.

Drag Me to Hell (2009,  PG-13)
Drag Me to Hell
Horror fans wanted to see Sam Raimi taking a break from Spider Man.He won't disappoint a lot of Evil Dead fans, since he's going back to his roots,we can see in this film some elements from Evil Dead 2.It gets very intense in the beginning & some scenes are slick & effective. There is gross-out & funny moments, but it also gets silly at times.Expect a entertaining & campy horror film.In a way it felt like an Evil Dead sequel without Ash,the cabin & the book of the dead.
