The Silence of the Lambs (1991, R)
A two-hour psychological assessment. From the start up to the end it is full of mystery. You are thinking the way the characters are thinking. For two hours I felt smart :D. Great job for the screenwriter. With all my praises, but there is still an imperfection, the characters are not well introduced. Their lives before the movie, why are they what they are now etc. That is why think Hannibal Lecter is very remarkable. What you see is what it is. I was also a bit disappointed with the serial killer. I thought he is going to be more deeper as a person. Maybe as smart as Hannibal because he is not caught easily. But when I found out that it is just a frustrated guy that wants to be a girl etc., I said to myself, okay. I am looking forward to see the two other films connected to this film. I want to see more from these great performances. |

Blood Diamond (2006, R)
At first I thought this is going to be hard action but it's not. It looks like a rough picture but it's actually pretty emotional. It has a very "dynamic" story. From a simple desire the three of them were able to get what they TRULY want. It is quite an adventure. I really appreciated the film> :D watch it |

The Reader (2008, R)
Great story but the explicit contents was the pullback of the film. But I can't blame the director. At least it was necessary for the film. The cast was great but I don't think Kate Winslet deserves her Oscar. I think it is for someone else. Although all my praises to her. She did a great job. It was sad for Kross because I thought this is going to be his breakthrough film. He still haven't got his breakthrough performance but he is a very dedicated actor. Great film. Try to watch it without any minor with you. |

Juno (2007, PG-13)
I think most of the modern people can relate to Juno's life. This story is very "now". About the film. At first I thought, it is gonna be another stereotype American-comedy film but it's not. It brought a lot of new vibe in the Oscars. The script made the film deserving for the nomination, but (for me) not for the award. At least I've watched Atonement. And comparing the two, I think Atonement is way better than Juno. There is the feeling of sadness after the film (there should be) but it was like "nothing special". As for Ellen Page, she was great. She deserves her Oscar nomination. |

Letters from Iwo Jima (2006, R)
Great film. The best war film I've watched. It tells about different stories Japanese soldiers' in an isolated island called Iwo Jima during WW2. I usually get bored with this kind of film but his one made me stare at the television. I don't want to miss any moment of it. The whole movie blends with everything. The seriousness of the film was not too much because of Saigo. He maid it so light even though it is a film about war. It was a satisfying film from start to finish. I'm only concerned if Saigo and Hanako see each other again. Anyways, it was a good film as it is. It's my new favorite. |

Chocolat (2000, PG-13)
"Once upon a time, there was a quiet little village in the French countryside, whose people believed in Tranquilité - Tranquility. If you lived in this village, you understood what was expected of you. You knew your place in the scheme of things. And if you happened to forget, someone would help remind you. In this village, if you saw something you weren't supposed to see, you learned to look the other way. If perchance your hopes had been disappointed, you learned never to ask for more. So through good times and bad, famine and feast, the villagers held fast to their traditions. Until, one winter day, a sly wind blew in from the North..." -Storyteller |

Atonement (2007, R)
"So my sister and Robbie were never able to have the time togther they both so longed for and deserved. Which ever since I've ... always felt I prevented. But what sense of hope or satisfaction could a reader derive from an ending like that? So in the book, I wanted to give Robbie and Cecilia what they lost out of life. I'd like to think this isn't weakness or evasion but a final act of kindness. I gave them their happiness." |

Ghost (1990, R)
One of the greatest love story ever told but I don't feel much of the vibe the film being one of the greatest. Yes it is quite better than I expected it to be but not the good that can make my jaw drop or hug myself after the film. It's just worthwhile. The best in this film is WHOOPI GOLDBERG. She deserves her Oscar. She made the film light and worthwhile. :D |

Broken Flowers (2005, R)
Doing nothing makes Bill Murray one of the greatest actor in history. Others may not agree and see him as boring through the film but they are definitely wrong. He is AWESOME. I think they have a good set of cast because they all complemented each other. The fact that there is a big difference between his past girlfriends proves that they are all great in their own jobs. About the story, It is one of the greatest. I actually think (besides the acting) the story is the greatest asset of this film. It is a well combined film with all the elements being at it's best. |

I Am Sam (2002, PG-13)
I can see the point of "people" hating this film because it makes us believe that Sam is the best guardian for Lucy but in reality, it is actually not, but it is what the film is all about, making us believe that he is the one. If ever the film will be revised in the other way, I think from 34% it will go to 0%. There is the lesson of believing in what a person can do. If we believe that Sam cannot be her guardian it will give us a negative vibe about the film but if we see ways as Sam does, it will give us the feeling of lightness and happiness. Leaving my inner sentiments about the film, I think Sean Penn and his friends (in the film) did the best jobs. One of the best set of cast ever existed in the history of history. They are all great (Fanning, Wiest, Pfeiffer etc.) Watch it :D |

Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007, G)
Funny & clever. Every Mr. Bean episode has a coincidence and Mr. Bean's Holiday is a movie ALL ABOUT COINCIDENCE. More of a Mr. Bean episode, the difference is, it ran for an hour. There is nothing especial with this film comparing it to a normal Bean episode, the only slight piece of change is the cinematography. It is fantastic. It looks like an Italian film but actually a British film. All I can say is Rowan Atkinson is a great actor. Worth your time. :D |

Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) (2001, R)
Funny without an effort. The way Amelie changed the lives of her neighbors. Starting from a simple box to her own complicated life. Every character grew as the movie increases it's story. Seeing someone help others in a very simple way makes me do what she did. Very inspirational. The only thing I hate in this film is the narrator. He is very irritating. His voice, the way he talks everything. It could have been better if it is Amelie or his old neighbor. But it is what it is. It good because of what it has not because of what it don't have. If you are planning to kill yourself, watch this film, it may help you change your mind. On the technical side, it has the greatest cinematography in the world. It is consistent & nostalgic. The costume & ACTING IS GREAT! Amelie's co-workers are my favorite, They made a mark in me. The best scene for me is the opening sequence. Very cute :D. Please watch this film. It will make you love yourself 7 your neighbor. |

Mamma Mia! (2008, PG-13)
This movie has a very intelligent concept but I don't like it. Meryl Streep is great in this film. The singing sucks (except Amanda Seyfried and Meyl Streep). Why not choose actors that can sing? The background ocean of the film looks fake. The movie really looked like a bit cheap and low-budgeted. But worth watching. |

The Uninvited (4 Inyong shiktak) (2003, Unrated)
One of the best horror film. It makes the audience think about it. That's why some people don't understand it. If you try to watch it again you can see the beauty and smartness of the film. It was a well-combined film. The acting of the cast, the effects and the direction. A kind of movie that is not scary unless you are really into the film. You should literally lend our ears and focused in the film. For those people who didn't understand much of the film. Try to watch it again alone and silently. |

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961, Unrated)
It's nice to watch an Audrey Hepburn film. She was one of the most famous actress of her time. Watching her in a film was an experience. About the movie, it is one of the best love stories I've watched. It was the music that serenaded my watching. Every time I hear the song in the movie, my ears are clapping. It is a perfect song for a simple movie. I noticed that there is something in Hepburn's talking. There was an "alluring factor", which was essential before. There is a big difference of movies before and today. Simple films were made before but now, people don't appreciate much of a simple film. We need to gain back that mentality of being simple is being great |

Shakespeare in Love (1998, R)
Great acting by the lead guy but not with Gwyneth Paltrow. I didn't like her much in this film. There was an unjust feeling in her side. I do think the didn't blend with each other much. There was an enormous amount of sensuality between the two of them but it seems that they don't get it right. About the other member of the cast, Judi Dench is the greatest. She is the best. She deserves her Oscar very much. The rest of them is great. They really pulled everything together well. I also appreciate the other elements of the film, the costume, story, cinematography etc. I hope to see more of Gwyneth Paltrow. I think she is the next Meryl Streep. |

Shall We Dance (2004, PG-13)
I liked it. I know I should hate this because it was about dancing which I was never able to do well =) but I liked it. Maybe it is because I was in the mood of watching movies that time because it was a rainy day and rainy days are the best time to watch movies. About the film, it was enjoyable. The music was great. I like it very much. Susan Serandon did a great job in this film. Richard Gere was also great in this film, He looked like a professional ballroom dancer. Watch it. It's a great dance film. |

Selena (1997, PG)
Very very very very very sad film. It tells the story of Selena 'The Queen of Tejano Music". Her life was finished by a gunshot. A simple gunshot ended her life. About the movie. Jennifer Lopez did a great job in the film. The idea of Jennifer Lopez lipsynching Selena's famous songs is a brilliant idea. No one can sing like Selena, not even J. Lo. Her portrayal is brilliant. Everybody should watch this . We can learn something from Selena's life. She reminds me of Elizabeth Short. They both want to be famous alive but they became famous dead. I believe Yolanda Saldivar deserves her sentence. The best scene for me is the "rally" Selena's fans made. Selena deserves her Legacy. For other's information she sang "DREAMING OF YOU". Please watch this movie. You will learn great things about life. |

The Banger Sisters (2002, R)
I surprisingly liked this one. I should hate this film but it was totally a blast watching this film. Maybe because of seeing Susan Sarandon in a very different way. The story of hers being free again and being who she really is made the film very promising. Goldie Hawn is great in this film. She really is in her role. It's a movie full of great actors and actresses. Geoffrey Rush was also great in this film. I think it's a bit underrated by the critics. I totally appreciate the film. Watch it. |

Enchanted (2007, PG)
Worth watching. There were great ideas in the film. My favorite is the transition from animated to real life. Great idea. I also find the idea of the princess not marrying the prince but instead marrying the human being nice =). The best scene for me is the scene where she thought she saw a real castle. Very funny scene. Amy Adams really did a great job in this film. She really looked like a very dumb person living in the world of mortals. Great acting with nice story. |

What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993, PG-13)
Great film. This movie is very underrated. It deserves a lot of respect and appraisals. Good for Leonardo DiCarpio, he had his nomination, he deserves it. The rest of the cast also did great. Their performances was natural. You can see how dedicated the cast is in their performances. Great example is Leonardo Dicarpio. I'm just confused with who is the main character and who's supporting. But they both did great. Just a thought, the title can be "Where's Arnie?" =) |

The Piano (1993, R)
Great film. Great performances by the cast. Everything was right about the film. The flow of the story, the cast, musical score, the costume, the cinematography etc. Holly Hunter is great in this film. Performing a mute pianist is hard but she did it well. Anna Paquin also did a great job. I think she is the second youngest to win the Oscar. |

The Great Debaters (2007, PG-13)
One of those movies that I would remember. It is a period film. The actors were good, the plot was a bit predictable when it came to the end. It's more of a biography move because it is about "Melvin Tolson", a communist. More on the funny side, I think there is no chance that the James and Samantha would be a couple. They just don't fit with each other. But all in all the film is great |

Revolutionary Road (2008, R)
A great film. Kate Winslet did a great job in this film even greater than her performance in The Reader. Leonardo DiCarpio is just okay in this film. I think Kate Winslet carried the whole film. The film is about young couples having problems in their married life. I think people can learn something from the film. It is a very sad movie though. Recommended to newly weds. Watch this film. |

In America (2003, PG-13)
Love this film. Full of drama. I thought it's going to be a film for all ages but it's not. With that kind of love scene a big no. The film is definitely a tear-jerker. The movie was effortless. Full of emotion but not to much. The cast is great. Very natural. The two kids were also great. The whole movie was simple but great. Only few films directors can do this kind of direction. All my praises to the director, cast and writers. The movie deserves praises. Recommended. |
