Maurice Richard (The Rocket) (2007, PG)
A great hockey film. I'm not a Montreal Canadian fan but this is a must for hockey fans. A great film showing the struggles of a man and his family in Quebec trying to survive. Hockey was a second job to Maurice to feed his family. Shows the tough times of the NHL before helmets and very little pay in it. Also shows how the rich and poor are divided in this and how things change over time. Much more than a hockey film. A film about a great man and a Canadian hero. |

Youngblood (1986, R)
This is a decent hockey movie. The film stars Rob Lowe, Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. The story is about a young hockey player trying to fit in and survive in the Canadian Junior hockey league. If your a hockey fan I would suggest checking this film out. Full of hockey action and a decent story to make for a decent film. I enjoyed it as I am a huge hockey fan. |

Rudy (1993, PG)
This was a good film based on a true story. Who doesn't like a underdog movie. This is Sean Astin best role he ever starred in. The film shows the determination and hope one can have as a person. Rudy is just such a likable character. Your hoping he makes the Notre Dame football team. This is just a heartfelt story of one person's dream coming true. You don't have to be a American football fan to enjoy this film. A great film for anyone to watch. |

Mr. Baseball (1992, PG-13)
This is one of my favorite films by Tom Selleck. The film is about a aging baseball star who can't get resigned in MLB in the States. So he gets signed on with a professional team in Japan. He learns to love the game again, falls in love and adjust to a different culture. The film is your typical story about a sports player getting his career back. But I liked it. The story is simple and enjoyable. A must see for sport movie fans or those who are baseball fans. |

Major League (1989, R)
This is the best one of the Major League series of films. This is such a great baseball film. The film is about the Cleveland Indians who are the worse team in the league. The owner wants to move the team if they finish last overall. But the teams rallys together to become the champs. The film has a great cast starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Wesley Snipes, Rene Russo, James Gammon and Dennis Haysbert. The film is fun and is full of great characters. Charlie Sheen as Wild Thing was my favorite. If you enjoy baseball films then check this out. |

The Last Boy Scout (1991, R)
This is a Bruce Willis classic. Probably his second best character behind his Die Hard series. Bruce and Damon Wayans have great chemistry in this. The film has a basic murder mystery story centered around a football game. The film is fun and full of action and great one liners from Bruce and Damon. I have seen better action films then this but I have a soft spot for it. Well worth checking out. |

Rocky (1976, PG)
This was the best of the Rocky movies. Set the stage for the sequels. Stallone's best performance ever. This is a great story of the underdog trying to make a better life for himself. Also the film has a love story mixed into it. The film was well written and directed. Burgess Meredith also gives a top notch performance as Rocky's trainer and mentor. Overall this is the one Rocky movie to watch out of all of them ever made. |

Rocky II (1979, PG)
This is a good sequel. The film picks up right from then original. This time Rocky is starting a family and boxer Apollo Creed wants a rematch fight. Rocky accepts and this time wins the title. This won't ruin the film for anybody who never watched it. Great performances again from Sylvester Stallone, Carl Weathers, Burgess Meredith, Burt Young and Talia Shire. If you liked the first Rocky film then you should enjoy this one as well. |

Rocky III (1982, PG)
The third installment in the Rocky series we have Rocky retraining with Apollo to get his title back from none other than Mr.T. That's right MR.T! This is a solid third movie in the series. The story is simple and and most of the original cast are back for this movie. Not as good as the first two movies but it was still worth a watch for Rocky fans. |

Rocky IV (1985, PG)
This is my second favorite Rocky film. My first Rocky film I saw. This time Rocky must get revenge on the Soviet boxer Drago played by Dolph Lundgren who killed Apollo Creed in a boxing match. Dolph Lundgren had the best line " I must break you." The story plays on the USA vs the USSR back in the 80's. The story is good and the boxing scenes are great. I loved the part where Rocky is training in the middle of the Russian winter to fight Drago. Stallone is perfect in his role as Rocky. Plus I really enjoyed the song Eye of the Tiger by Survivor in the films soundtrack. I great fourth installment in the Rocky series. |

Rocky V (1990, PG-13)
This was the last Rocky film. That is untill they made Rocky Balboa. This story takes place right after Rocky IV. Rocky comes back to the States and finds out that his accountant has stolen all his money. Now living in poverty and not able to box due to years of blows to the head. Rocky starts to coach a up and coming boxer who starts to let his rising fame get to his head. Overall I thought this was a good movie. Not as great as the other Rocky movies but still good enough. I enjoyed it. Worth a watch if you like all the other Rocky movies. |

Happy Gilmore (1996, PG-13)
This is my all time favorite Adam Sandler film. The character Happy Gilmore was great. He still held the NHL record of stabbing someone with his skate. Funny. Sure there is some crude humor in this but it works. I never get bored watching this film. I always get a good laugh. Love the Bob Barker fight scene to the evil golfer Shooter McGavin. A classic comedy. |

The Longest Yard (2005, PG-13)
This is a updated remake to the original Longest Yard film. Nice to see Burt Reynolds back for this. The film has your basic Adam Sandler comedy. But I like it. The movie is about the prisoners verses the guards in a football match. Easy plot to follow with tons of likeable characters. If you enjoy sport films or are a Adam Sandler fan then I would recommend this film. |

61* (2001, Unrated)
A really good baseball movie. Great movie for baseball fans. Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper are both excellent in this film. Billy Crystal does a great job in his direction of the film. He shows us the good and rough times for baseball legends Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. You can tell Billy Crystal is a fan in the way he directs and pays respect to the people in the film. Even if your not a baseball fan you should enjoy this film for the great acting and story. Well worth the watch. |

Caddyshack (1980, R)
This is a classic. The best of the Caddyshack films. The film is full of crude jokes, physical humour and great one liners. Great cast with Rodney Danderfield, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Ted Knight. The film is about a elite golf club that does not want a low class person in the club. Even though he is rich. Funny scenes through out the film. A great comedy worth checking out. |

Caddyshack II (1988, PG)
This is a decent sequel to the original classic Caddyshack. This time the film stars Jackie Mason, Jonathan Silverman, Chevy Chase, Dyan Cannon, Randy Quaid and Dan Aykroyd. The film is full of funny moments and wacky one liners. My favorite character has to be by Randy Quaid as the crazy angry lawyer. He was so funny in this. The film keeps with the tradition of the original film. Not as good but still some laughs throughout the film. If you liked the original Caddyshack then you might like this. |

Resurrecting the Champ (2007, PG-13)
This is a very good film based on the true story of a young sports writer telling the story of boxer Bob Satterfield who was thought dead. I have never heard of the story personally untill the movie came out. This is a film with a great story and characters. Josh Hartnett and Samuel L. Jackson both give great performances in this. Plus the film has a good supporting cast with Alan Alda, Teri Hatcher, Kathryn Morris and David Paymer. The story the young journalist writes turns out to haunt him and his career. The film is well done and is a enjoyable watch. I think it helped that I never heard of the story so the ending was that much better for me. Overall this is a great film to check out. |

The Sandlot (1993, PG)
This is a very good film about a group of boys playing baseball back in the 60's. I found this to be a charming and fun film. The young cast are very good in their roles and the story is well done. It reminds me when I use to play baseball with my friends as a kid. A good film for the kids and the family. Plus for those who enjoy baseball or sport related movies. |

This is a fun football film that doesn't take itself to seriously. Stars Gene Hackman and Keanu Reeves. Don't look for outstanding performances in this. Each actor does a solid job in their roles. With a fun but goofy story about a group of has been football players getting a second chance in the big leagues. Worth a watch if you enjoy comedy sport films then check this out. |

These two guys butt heads often but become good friends. A fun film with a good story and cast. Worth a watch. |
