Showgirls (1995, NC-17)
So bad it is a masterpiece! So this is quite possibly one of the worst movies of all time, but it happens to be one of the most entertaining and hilarious movies of all time. The story of Nomi is well pretty funny, all she seems to do is eat chips, talk about nails, crack tantrums, crack alot of tantrums, dance is the most unsexy way, have really hilarious sex, and the list goes on. Elisabeth Berkley took herself too seriously in this movie, so damn funny. Gina Gershon on the other hand has fun with her role, she knows the movie is a joke and she has fun with it. Smart woman, and shes pretty hot in this too. The script is hilarious, the women in this are like from another planet, there are some vulgar things said, and everything is just sooooooo unrealistic, and the thing is they were aiming for it to be. Funniest thing about the DVD is the commentary, and its funny with the video commentary by strippers how they mock Berkleys dancing hehe. |

10 Things I Hate About You (1999, PG-13)
I just love this movie, I have ever since I saw it at the cinema back in the day. It was such a pleasure to watch it again. Heath Ledger was such a great revelation here, you could see the makings of a great actor here. Julia Stiles is great too, I thought they had some great chemistry together. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and David Krumholtz are just great together as well. Andrew Keegan's acting leaves a lot to be desired but he does play the dickhead character well, you really do just want to smack him all through the film. Based on The Taming Of The Shrew, it was a cute and fun update, certainly one of the better teen films to come out of the 90's. I mean you know where it is headed, but that is typical of the genre, it is getting there that is all the fun. |

Blades of Glory (2007, PG-13)
Being a fan of these types of movies I was really looking forward to this and I wasn't disappointed. I had alot of fun, I'd say it is on-par with Talledega Nights. You all know what its about, two figure skaters get banned for life, but because of a loop hole they can come back to the sport as a pair. Of course there are the usual man on man jokes, but they are actually pretty funny and I found they hit the mark most of the time. The jokes didn't get boring either, and it should have, but they pulled it off rather well. Will Ferrell is his usual hilarious self, playing another ego-maniac who is some what...dumb. But he does it so well (The best being Ron Burgundy) and Jon Heder was actually pretty good as well. He wasn't channelling Napoleon Dynamite, and he played a different character. Of course the supporting cast were good as well, with the husband and wife team of Amy & Will playing the brother & sister rivals. All in all not a bad way to spend 90mins of your afternoon. |

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1999, R)*Ahem* I actually had never seen this movie before, and I don't really know why. I wish I had seen it earlier, because I was missing out, big time. This was just great, from start to finish, ah it was just so much fun to watch. It didn't drag at all, totally held my attention all the way, the situations just got from bad to worse, such a ride, really. The ending had me in stitches, I was almost screaming. And Jason Statham, damn, the things I would do to him, well I should keep that to myself hehe. |

Disturbia (2007, PG-13)
I actually liked this more then I expected, I thought the trailer wasn't all that good, so I had low expectations but it turned out to be alot of fun. I like David Morse as the creepy badie, and Shia LaBeouf is really good and he did make for a pretty good lead. Sure this seemed more like they took it from the Simpsons episode based on Rear Window then the actual movie itself, but it was fun. |

Knocked Up (2007, R)
I thought this was a really enjoyable comedy, much like The 40 Year Old Virgin, it gives us some unique, funny and quirky characters. Seth Rogen is kind of cute as the loser type character who gets Katherine Heigl knocked up. They both have great chemistry together, which really makes their relationship work. Without that I don't think the movie would have been quite as enjoyable. Paul Rudd is always reliable, and well he's just adorable here. Leslie Mann was cast because she's married to Judd Apatow I'd imagine but she was good in her roll, although she was more hilarious in her small role in The 40 Year Old Virgin. Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) was pretty good too, I like the guy. Be nice to see him in movie films, he's good. I'd recommend this if you like The 40 Year Old Virgin and similar films. |

Planet Terror (Grindhouse Presents: Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror) (2007, R)
Basically this is an exploitation movie, over the top everything, not much of a storyline, just excuses to have lots of blood and gore. Its pretty enjoyable if you like these kinds of movies (Like I do), and in this Unrated DVD edition they kept the Grindhouse format, theres a missing reel, the quality is all over the place, it loses colour ect... but it worked for the film. The actual effects are really good, too good for the B or even C grade they were aiming for. The acting isn't great but it isn't supposed to be. The characters are over the top but enjoyable, could have done without Fergie but meh. Just like with Death Proof one of the strongest things about the film is the soundtrack, its pretty awesome. Also what was cool was they had the fake Machete trailer, it was a shame the same wasn't done with Death Proof. Oh and for those who just wanted to see this for Rose with her gun leg, skip to the end. |

Death Proof (Grindhouse Presents) (2007, R)
So I finally got to see one half of Grindhouse. Difference being this is a much longer cut of what it was originally. While I did like it, I think the shorter cut shown as Grindhouse would have been good to see as well. There were some parts in this that just kind of dragged, weren't all that interesting. Other parts were done well, kept my attention. The best part of the film is definitely the last half hour, very exciting and some awesome stunts. Kurt Russell I think suited the character of Stuntman Mike, he was good, but for me he always is. All the girls were good too, sometimes annoying. I really liked Vanessa Ferlito, she was quite surprising. Zoe Bell isn't a good actress but that isn't her specialty, but she sure was pretty darn cool. Rosario Dawson is always good, and she was good here, I liked her alot. Funny cameo from Eli Roth, and from Quentin Tarantino as well. Glad I finally got to see this, awaiting Planet Terror now. |

Toy Soldiers (1991, R)
A really great movie from the early 90's, one that certainly got me through my youth. Always alot of fun to revisit! A good little action film aimed at the teenages about a group of terrorists who take control over a prep school with a bunch of trouble making boys. A really good cast with Sean Astin and and Wil Wheaton as two of the students, Louis Gossett Jr as the Dean and keep an eye out for R. Lee Ermey as a military guy (what else would he be lol). A great way to pass an afternoon, and certainly a huge guilty pleasure of mine. |

The King of the Kickboxers (Karate Tiger 4) (No Retreat, No Surrender 4) (1991, R)
Get this out of the way first, this film is not Oscar material! The storyline is a Kickboxer rip off, the acting is horrid, the script is rubbish! However these things make this a pretty awesome film! Everything is rather hilarious, and man the training scenes are freakin' classic! Loren Avedon is such a bad actor and I just loved him in it! The ending is classic! I will definitely enjoy watching this again! |

No Retreat, No Surrender (1986, PG)
Man this movie is freakin awesome! I mean yes the acting is non-existent, but who cares?? Its all apart of what makes it so awesome! They don't make them like this anymore, thats for sure. Oh and Van Damme is barely in this, but when he is, he rules! The characters are so hilarious in this, the bully, the best friend, OMG its classic stuff! |
