Halloween II
Interesting follow up to the first film. Higher gore factor and body count, but thats to form. Its still a very creepy film, and really well made.
3
The Mist (2007,  R)
4
The Fog (2005,  PG-13)
The Fog
Moody, slow boil, and great classic angry ghosts. Stylistically, very similar to "Halloween" as well so its got that going for it as well.

Re-Animator (1985,  R)
Re-Animator
A solid start to this series. Modern day Frankenstein with a kind of sociopathic twist. I am very intrigued to see where these stories go now. Alos, this is a bit over the top to a nice humorous effect. Its entertaining, based on a Lovecraft story, and has cool physical effects.
6
Psycho (1960,  R)

Straw Dogs (1971,  R)
Straw Dogs
This was a strange film. The name comes from Taoist writings in the Tao Te Ching. It was disturbing on many levels, yet very triumphant. This was a work of art if for no other reason than it made me cringe and question. It caused reactions in me that I'm still (24 hours later) trying to work out. That is a good movie.

The Last House on the Left (2009,  R)

The Evil Dead (1981,  NC-17)
The Evil Dead
What can I say. This is a at times creepy horror movie that is the starting point for the genius that is Sam Rami. Check this film out to see where that style began, and the origin of this film trilogy as well.
10
Trick 'r Treat (2008,  R)
Trick 'r Treat
A solid horror anthology film that kept me quessing through most of the stories. Well acted with humor that shows the movie doesn't take itself too seriously. And for the added something, the stories in a mixed up and interlaced order, instead of just being seperate unrelated chapters.

Frailty (2002,  R)
Frailty
Excellently shot and paced directorial debut of Bill Paxton. At times heavy handed and trying to maintain a "you decided" stance while still mainly pointing you to one set of conclussions, I still loved this film. And while I don't normally like religious based horror, I can't help but enjoy the tension of this family along with this unusual plot.
12
Drag Me to Hell (2009,  PG-13)
13
Doctor Mordrid (1992,  R)
