The little direction subtleties make this stand out in an otherwise crowded field. Never has an action movie been this much fun to watch before. The film may look old but it feels like it should be that way since it takes place so long ago. Everything works. Its funny, its got great action, Harrison Ford makes the most memorable character ever, and... well... its just damn fun.

Spoilers... I guess, who hasn't seen this?
The Empire Strikes Back is one of the best movies ever made. Han Solo, Darth Vader, Luke, Leia, Yoda, and all the other characters come back and you know all their names with no problem. All the actors are having fun, the story is simple but amazing, if that makes any sense. And who didn't freak when Vader said "Luke, I am your father."? It was, and always will be one of the best. Ahhh, Hoth.... why was it called Hoth, why not Colth? Sorry, you know who you are.

Every time I go to watch this movie, it becomes more and more interesting to me. The first time I saw it, I thought it was rather boring with a misleading title (Blade Runner? Yeah, that doesn't sound off the wall action packed at all) but the second time, I was captivated by it. The other day I was bored so I watched it, and I was literally enthralled with all the detail, symbolism, and near perfect script. So unique, its like a trip through a world that could easily become real. But what makes it more amazing is its attention to detail, and the fact that everyone involved does wonders with their role. Nothing here is wasted, the direction is top notch, the cinematography is perfect, even the score has grown on me. I never thought I'd say Blade Runner was one of my favorite movies, but after watching it over and over, its easy to see how this flick was so inspirational to a lot of today's writers and directors.

Simple adventure with great action and a perfect sense of humor. One of the best, and one of the few I love Sean Connery in. It just works, and you can watch it over and over and be happy you did.

Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Obi Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca, R2-D2... if you can recite all these names, its because of this movie. Star Destroyer, X-Wing, Death Star, TIE Fighter... Sandpeople, Stormtroopers, Millenium Falcon, Jawas, Sandcrawler, lightsaber. These are the magical words that make you love Star Wars... if you're anything like me that is.

A lot of the critics said that this movie was just like A New Hope because it had the Death Star in it... A New Hope didn't have Jabba (well, not the theatrical anyway), Boba Fett (again, theatrical, the good ones), Endor, Ewoks (thank God), Speed Bikes, AT-STs, Admiral Ackbar (ITS A TRAP!!!), and it didn't have the Emperor... or Yoda. Anyway, Return of the Jedi was just as original and engaging. I personally would take Sand People over Ewoks anyday, and AT-ATs over Chicken Walkers, but I still think Return of the Jedi retains that same magic that the prequels lack, and its still one of the most enjoyable flicks around.

I'll agree with most that this is the weakest in the series, but I don't understand some arguments. I think the adventure is just as awesome as Raiders, even if the story isn't as phenomenal, but the fun is all still her. Like the mine carts or the bride scene. It was great, and I enjoyed it all. I just wasn't huge on Kate Capshaw or Shortie, but they're expendable.

While it contains all the humor, action, and interesting storytelling through the director's pacing work, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull falls short on its way over the top ending. Even though I think the story could have been fleshed out and made a little better to satisfy a more main stream audience, I actually think it worked. I won't spoil anything for those who want it to be a surprise, but be prepared for it being a little over the top. Personally, the story works for me. Even though I found it entertaining, sure, I think they could have found something different to do. But since Indy's always been chasing religious artifacts and ideals, it didn't seem so out of place adding a little Mayan ideology into the mix.
Pros - Harrison Ford is still Indiana Jones. After all these years, he's still that character and the idea of someone else being him is out of the question. Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, Karen Allen (a nice little blast to the past), and various other "in the background" characters did fantastic acting and carried the show and made it a lot of fun. Spielberg's direction is still some of the best in the business, and it has all the little direction hints that make the movie stand out. The action, humor, and suspense never outweigh one another, it flows and is paced excellently.
Cons - Farfetched and over the top story could have been changed a little to appeal to a broader audience. The Tarzan scene. Ray Winstone's character seemed random and didn't really seem to advance the plot.
All in all, I loved Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull but like I said a thousand times in this review the story isn't going to appeal to everyone. Is it as good as the previous three? No. A worthy addition to the Indiana Jones franchise? In my humble opinion, very much so. I look forward to seeing this movie again and again.

This is weird. Not the movie, but my rating. I mean, if you ever watched this thing you'll be in horrible pain (ever had your childhood memories brutally ripped apart? yeah) but the entire time you'll be laughing when you notice things like Luke wearing the same make up as Leia or Chewbacca's family talking without subtitles or any understandable dialouge. Whoever had to write that scene had it easy. In fact, its so bad I think it should be what criminals are forced to watch after committing an offense. But then again, I gave it a full star because I really don't think I've ever laughed that hard in my life. I felt so bad for Harrison Ford, he clearly didn't want to be there.
