Even though the movie is based around the video game, the women they are trying to defeat really existed. (Countess Elizabeth Bathory did actually exist. However, for the perspective of the film, her story takes place in New Orleans, whereas historically she was located in Hungary.) Great Movie. In my Opinion this Movie should have been R rated.
Honestly I had to watch this Movie twice. At first I was really confused. It was because the Fantasy and the reality seemed to be moulded together. Many things in the Movie were a Symbol. Like that Root thing that Pan gave to girl. It was a Symbol of "Hope" Heart warming Movie, and very sad ending.
The Eighteenth Angel is different from other Evil "Lucifer" Movies. Rachael Leigh Cook was a best choice for the role. In my Opinion she has that "innocent" sort of face. I enjoyed this Movie. The Idea they came up was Awesome. The Movie gives something to Mystery and Horror Fans. I liked the locations they Filmed the Movie, it gave the Movie and Story more touch. Cats are great to look from Far, but I never get near them. They just make me nervous, though never had any "Cat-Omania" with Cats. I always enjoy the whole Movie, but the End disappoints me.
I really dont know what to call this Movie. Sci Fi or Horror, but the Story Line was okay and the special Effects as well. Honestly I wasnt expecting much from this Movie, but I enjoyed it some how. I have not seen Bruce Boxleitner on Screen very long time, was refreshing. I was not bored during the Movie, so all around I must say not bad to watch if you catch it on TV!
The Calling is very provoking Movie. In British Horror Movies there is not much Special Effect I noticed though a Story line and the Directors provoke the Public to use their Fantasy. This Movie was a guilty Joy.
I do not believe in Angels nor anything above, and it was amusing and entertaining at the same time how Angels are portrayed in this Movie. It is not a bad movie. I had the feeling there was something lacking in the Movie specially the End. It just amuse me, how differently "Angels" are portrayed in the Movies like this. But it is not a bad Movie for Fantasy Fans.
I really laughed, this Movie is Funny and different then other Puppet Master Movies I have seen. It has some creepy Scenes, but a lot of Humor. I very much enjoyed this Movie. There is this Doll in the Movie, which looks a little bit like Chucky and Swears like him too, but not great as Chucky though I really enjoyed its appearance in the Movie. Recommendable if you need some Laugh though you will be disappointed if you watch this Movie expecting Horror non stop. Corey Feldman looks so funny in it.
I didnt actually expect much from this Movie. But I was very much surprised. I have seen many Movies with Idea of the World behind the Mirror, they are all different. This Movie is not a blockbuster and The Story is rather slow and dramatic, but not boring. Typical Asian Horror Movie. Great Special effects, great acting, but what most impressed me was the twisting End, I didnt see it coming. Really surprising.
Great Movie with some great special effects and interesting story, but the Main actors are unknown to me except Patrick Bauchau though okay acting. Just funny that the shy guy when he turns in to Vampire, suddenly can Jump and fight and stuff, that was a little bit unrealistic for me.
The Ending Scene freaked a hell out of me, I had nightmares, perhaps because the fact scares me very much to get stucked somewhere and never find the way out. Claustrophobic. At the ending when she finally reaches the car, I was relieved but THEN it came out that it was just a dream and she was still stucked in the Cave. alone! after all her friends killed one by one. Terrible thought to end up like that.
Walter Sparrow: It's so absurd, even the color of his tie betrays him. Many of Jim Carrey Fans had tough time to see Jim Carrey in a Thriller, but I think he was great in the Movie and we can see he is not only the guy for the silly and funny roles, he can play serious roles too. I saw him once in a Drama I can not remember the title of the Movie, but Jim Carrey was so young there, so it was not a push in a cold water for me to see him in a Thriller.
I just had to kill a LOT of people. And I'm not sure I'm gonna get away with it this time. I guess I'll uh, I mean, ah, I guess I'm a pretty uh, I mean I guess I'm a pretty sick guy. So, if you get back tomorrow, I may show up at Harry's Bar, so you know, keep your eyes open.
It walks a fine line of funny and horrific but your in the mind of a psychopath so that what it would be. It is an excellent movie. With the perfect cast and the arrogant acting is so realistic. Christian Bale rambles like a narcissist and believes the smallest things are the most important. He is scary because he is exactly like all those people that work in corporate environments. Since I saw the Movie for the very first time, the ending has been bothering me. How could someone kill somany people and get unnoticed through. So thanks to another reviewer I got my Answer.
WHAT WAS THAT ENDING ABOUT?= The biggest cause for debate. Bateman didn't kill anybody during this film. It was all in his head. He clearly is disturbed, but couldn't carry out a killing to save his life. That's why, almost, all of the killings go unnoticed.
Perhaps I should read the Book too

I never heard of this Movie before, I happened to caught it on TV. Wow, it was not Scary though sort of "Psycho Shocker" The Legend of "The Wisher" was very interesting I WISH they had focused the Plot more on Legend. Great Movie but never again. I didnt like the End. For some reasons I dont like Ron Silver though he was great in this Movie.
Great God I am still a little bit shaking after seeing this Movie, the last scene was very intense and very Brutal to me. The Movie was great, but the very last Scene where he(Martin aka Ethan Hawke) stabs the scissor in her Pregnant belly, that was too much for me although she was not really pregnant in the Movie, she did all that because she knew he will follow and stalk her after she was "fired". I already suspected there was something wrong, I mean the Scene where Kiefer Sutherland surprises Ethan Hawke in his appartment and instead of killing him he kidnaps him, that didnt make a lot sense to me. WOW to Jolie s performance.
I dont know why this underating for this Movie. I have seen this Movie about 5 times and I enjoyed it every time. It has all those Elements for thriller/Mystery. Halle Berry was great. A scary thought to wake up one day and you find out your whole world is suddenly "up side down" There is no way. Great story, great special effects and GREAT Acting. AWESOME!
I like Spiders. This Movie is not so Creepy, but for some reason I enjoyed it very much infact I loved it, but that doesnt mean I would rate it too high for that.
