Alphabetical order would be nice, but I'm afraid the list's a bit too long for me to bother.

Maniac! 4.0 Stars
The best bit about these kind of movies is not the gratuitous gore, the tragicomical dialogue, not even the zany plot, but the music. When you hear that Moog start up, you know there's going to be some bloodshed.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005,  PG-13)
The Exorcism of Emily Rose 4.0 Stars
This is the more fictionalised version of the exorcism of Anneliese Michel. Though the possession scenes were at best wonderfully disturbing, some of the court scenes were a bit dreary.

*SPOILERY*
What I really liked was how they never proved for certain that she was, indeed, possessed (nor that she was epileptic either).

One of the best new horror comedies I've seen in a while. There were some scenes I could've lived without, but on the whole, I liked it.

The vampires looked good, though not that original. Kind of Buffy meets Coppola's Dracula.

Thirteen Ghosts (13 Ghosts) 2.5 Stars
The Black Zodiac? Oh, please. Some of the special effects were nice, but the plot was rather weak - not to mention the "humour", which was very clichéd and kind of stale.

Apparently all the ghosts have their own unique backstory but alas we're told nothing of them, which leaves the ghosts, as characters, kind of flat. The Hammer, for example, just looks inexplicably stupid if you don't know the story behind his death.

Dracula 2000 3.5 Stars
I wasn't too impressed when I saw this the first time, but it felt a little better second time around. I loved the fresh new take on the old Dracula myth. Gerard Butler makes a very good Dracula with his intense, mesmerising stare. Everything else was still a bit lacking.

Battle Royale meets The Most Dangerous Game with a hint of Lord of the Flies. I don't think I've been so ticked off by a film character in a long time as I was by Steve. Gods, was he a right prick (though I don't think anyone can beat the guys in I Spit On Your Grave in a-holeness).
