Psycho (1998, R)
This remake of a classic Hitchcock movie is average, but very familiar scenes to the 1960 version and few lack of creepy. Did they honestly think Vince Vaughn was going to be as good or better than Anthony Perkins? No way. Anne Heche, with her short mannish-haircut, is going to be better than Janet Leigh? I don't think so! |

The Hills Have Eyes II (The Hills Have Eyes 2) (2007, R)
Bloody sicko, terrible and scary of these freak mutants who are tracking a group of National Guard trainees in the desert. I always let out a groan of disappointment when a sequel replaces civilian characters with the military. Soldiers are always so lazily written and never fail to thoroughly bore with crude caricatures of strutting macho bullshit. |

Halloween (2007, R)
This remake horror film is very different to the original one because it interested me to know the full story of Michael Myers when he was a kid just before and after he killed his family except his mother and little sister on Halloween Day and how he became mad as evil. Tyler Mane is brilliant as the masked serial killer. |

The Eye (2008, PG-13)
Awesome supernatural remake from 2002 Hong Kong horror film which is a tradition of The Sixth Sense meets Final Destination. Jessica Alba makes a fantastic performance as a young blind woman who, after undergoing experimental surgery to regain her sight, seeing freakish visions. Some scenes are so scary of what Alba sees in her vision. |

Shutter (2008, PG-13)
This was a surprisingly good, old fashioned ghost story in remake of 2004 Thailand film. |

Day of the Dead (2008, R)
I don't care if this re-imagined of George A. Romero's zombie classic is "disappointment", but I liked it at the first time I ever saw zombies has new incredible abilities and heroine Mena Suvari in action. |

My Bloody Valentine 3-D (2009, R)
This 3-D horror remake delivers a non-stop parade of amusing horrors. That gave me alot of incredible shocking of gore and nudity from wearing a 3-D glasses, I enjoyed it so much. At the begin is amazing than at the final. To be honest, I haven't seen the 1981 original yet, but the story is little different from the remake while I was reading the review. |

Friday the 13th (2009, R)
This re-imagining of the 1980 slasher classic of horror legend Jason Voorhees is so good as scary as what I could see the character Voorhees's moving is more quick as a cat-like than the original Friday the 13th series. Rather, he simply dumps an impressively repellent bunch of nubile teen morons at Crystal Lake and then wastes our time with a vicious and offensive (in all senses of the word) murder marathon. |

The Last House on the Left (2009, R)
This Wes Craven's 1972 shocker remake brings less shocked with violence between the gang and one of their victims' parents. Rising star Garret Dillahunt is brilliantly fear-povoking as the villianous Krug and young Sara Paxton is unforgettable in a brave performance for a young actress, as one of the film's tragically scarred victims. |
