what a refreshing new storyline, but its so hard to rate becuase its like an excellent childhood fairy tale cutesy flick, but at the sametime something so grusome and cruel that you wouldn't even dream of letting your little kid watch. mix the chronicles of narnia, a litltle princess, and throw in a spanish nazi and pretty music = a pretty unique /good movie

i still have difficulty rating this. the movie totaly speaks to your inner 13-year-old-girl-who-loves-horses, and it has tim mcgraw in it.....it was just so......overdramatic at time and had some unrealistic scenes. im not sure when the book was written and its obvious that it was directed towards young horselovers, and don't get me wrong, the acting was pretty good, the script was cliche and kinda soap opra-y at times. plus there were so many different conflicts, the girl didn't fit in with her family and they 'didn't understand her", school wasn't great, the western way of life was dying i dunno how may times they tried to pull the whole "oh they're gonna die....oh wait maybe not" ......im pretty sure i could go through life without ever seeing that movie again.....werid that i said that becuase i could watch horse movies over and over again....guess ill just curl up to black beauty again! ;)
