The Prestige
whew! amazing film. makes you wonder and ask questions from time to time until everything will be clear in the end. very well acted, kudos to bale and jackman. my only problem here is the passion turned obsession ended up with obsession to both main character. they were both mad, and you can't get attached to any of them, until the end.

Trainspotting (1996,  R)
Trainspotting
wow. pretty awesome. should've watched this with couple of batchmates back in highschool, including our batch's version of "renton" with a little hope that he'll get the same fate.
7
Control (2007,  R)
Control
sad movie. though i'm not familiar with joy division music, it's a good watch. plus the black and white stuff, it reflects the emotion of the lead character.
8
The Jacket (2005,  R)
The Jacket
brody's acting is good (as always). more like butterfly effect.

S. Darko (S Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale) (2009,  R)
S. Darko (S Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale)
if you have 103 min time to waste, watch this.

Once (2007,  R)
Once
not your typical musical film. if you're a song writer, you'll surely love this, and if you're a song writer playing for a band, you'll love this much much more :-) i always have an eye and an ear for ireland, its music and its people and this movie really touched my irish crave. fantastic. I just find it hard to understand some words. the irish weird accent is ok, I think i'd been used to it, but the czech accent is err-- kinda tough to understand but it's fine. the love story, there's no love story. very nice. this is indeed a must watch.

It's really amazing when you get to share same passion with someone. ecstatic. +sigh+

Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
my review must go to my personal blog ;-)

Boy A (2007,  R)
Boy A
i love it, i hate it. one of my fave films now. excellent acting specially the lead character. I was attached to him so much that i cannot accept err--spoiler. a minute after the end, i'm still crying.
13
Tropic Thunder (2008,  R)
Tropic Thunder
some laughs out there. I specially love RDJ's character. The ending was pretty nice, Lance and Alpa Chino, haha. and--- i never recognized Tom cruise until they said it was him.

Help! (1965,  G)
Help!
makes me wish i was alive in 1965 so i had experienced the era of these extremely talented lads! man they were so hilarious! who would have thought they were brilliant actors too? packed with funny smart script, fresh looking Beatles guys, and amazing soundtracks, this film is a must watch - classic indeed. and John Lennon's teeth were so nice! and oh, did I mention Paul McCartney? if i'll go back in 1960s and meet him face to face singing with the band, I'd die!
15
Ratatouille (2007,  G)
Ratatouille
I specially love Ego's review at the last part. Well, what else can I say? Pixar never fails to please me.

cute short film.

He's Just Not That Into You (2009,  PG-13)
He's Just Not That Into You
warning................................................................................................................................................................................................. this is a personal thought. not exactly a review, but i wanted to write this down. if you're not into cheesy stuffs, stop reading right now - i still don't wanna think women like me are completely idiots. haha. but most of the times we are, and that scares me a lot! those assumptions and expectations stuffs that were touched in this movie, that freaks me out! i really hope one day, i will be an exemption.

District 9 (2009,  R)
District 9
haven't given five stars for a movie in a long time and earlier i left the cinema with the extent rate on my head. District 9 is fuckidon'tknowwhatexactwordshouldiusetodescribehowgoodthismovieis. brilliant. awesome. genius. the experimental risk of the makers is a huge success. it went far beyond my extreme expectation. This is actually the first alien film that definitely hit my nerves. I love the main characters, though I wasn't expecting the lead will be the *spoiler*. imagine knocking at the house of a cat food eating alien, alien scavengers, and all those crazy ideas? sweet.

Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994,  R)
Four Weddings and a Funeral
not my kind of stuff.

Wristcutters - A Love Story (2007,  R)
Wristcutters - A Love Story
critics and reviews were nice but this film bores me. I was convincing myself to like it but i failed

Brüno (Bruno) (2009,  R)
Brüno (Bruno)
my points:

* 80% of the first hour of the film talks/shows about perverseness in a boring way.

* the only thing that kept me watching the film for the first hour is the puzzle of knowing what is prank and what is scripted and how the hell can they do that without being hit by those people they make fun of(specially the terrorists stuff, I remember watching an interview with sacha on letterman about that).

* If you're a man, I personally don't think you'll like it.

* If you're a gay, I'm not sure if you'll like it either.

* but i still think Sacha Baron Cohen is very talented. :-)

Orphan (2009,  R)
Orphan
not really a fan of thriller films but this one is pretty good. though the first 30 min is kinda boring (only few films can keep you up from the start to finish anyway) but when esther entered the scene, my eyes was glued on the screen.
