Dirty Dancing
A classic movie that will remain so. Patrick Swayze at his finest!

Open Water
I thought the acting was pretty good, but it was slow in places and a bit disappointing by the end.

Speedway Junky
This film made me cry. It's just brilliant and sweet. I love it! And JTT as a bisexual hustler? I'll bloody pay.
57
Forrest Gump (1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
Some of the most quotable lines from any movie, and Tom Hanks shows his talent. Sometimes I forget how great an actor he is because for some reason I have a deep-rooted dislike for the man, but this is a phenomenal movie.
58

63
Trick (1999,  R)
Trick
I haven't watched this film in years, and definitely get the feeling it is time to watch it again. I remember really enjoying it, and fancying Neve's brother rotton though!
64
Stonewall (1996,  R)
Stonewall
This film should be a lot better. It's good, but it should me brilliant. It's talking of the most important time in gay history, and really doesn't do itself justice.
65
Boys Don't Cry (1999,  R)
Boys Don't Cry
Hilary Swank totally deserved her Oscar. This true life story is extremely sad and heart-wrenching, and was brought together with a lot of care. I fotting memorial to Brandon Teena.
66
Monster (2003,  R)
Monster
Charlize Theron as you have never seen her before... May be the role of her career. It was a brilliant representation. There was just something lacking a little and I can't put my finger on it.
67
The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (2004,  R)
The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things
Asia Argento and the boy actor are totally amazing, but it doesn't quite do JT Leroy's book justice to be honest! Worth watching though.
68
Ma Vie En Rose (My Life in Pink) (1997,  R)
Ma Vie En Rose (My Life in Pink)
A very honest film. A real coming of age drama... It's beautifully shot with well-tackled subject matter. Wonderful.
69
Total Eclipse (1995,  R)
Total Eclipse
This film is incredibly well acted and beautiful at time, but look Leo... David Thewlis is well ugly, and I'd make a much better leading man. I KNOW I'm a better kisser! Nice to see his willy though. LOL.
70
Bent (1997,  NC-17)
Bent
A very powerful, but very depressing movie. I'm not sure how much I enjoy this film to be honest. There are good bits but it's just awful in places. Very powerful though.
71
Love! Valour! Compassion! (1997,  R)
Love! Valour! Compassion!
It is extremely well acted, heart-warming and heart-breaking. It may not be to everyone's taste as it can be dull in places, but most people should be able to relate I hope.
72
Velvet Goldmine (1998,  R)
Velvet Goldmine
This movie is glam rock heaven!! Ewan and Jonathan are wicked and I absolutely adore it. Completely original. Can't believe someone nicked my copy though!!! Grrr...
73
Gods and Monsters (1998,  R)
Gods and Monsters
Brendan Fraser looks beautiful and Ian McKellen acts his socks off as usual. It is an amazing film, and you really get into the psyche of the main character. You may squirm at times, but you sympathise too.
74
Mysterious Skin (2005,  NC-17)
Mysterious Skin
This film is totally original and amazingly acting. Very disturbing in places, but it all becomes more and more clear. Just brilliant cinema.
75
Audition (Ôdishon) (1999,  R)
Audition (Ôdishon)
This film has one of the, if not THE freakiest ending to any horror film you will ever watch. You don't see what is coming. At least I didn't. So unbelievably slow in places but so mind-blowingly original and f**ked up!!
76
Cidade de Deus, (City of God) (2003,  R)
Cidade de Deus, (City of God)
This film is just absolutely amazing. The acting, the story, the fact that it could all be real, and these things really do happen. Heart-rending, shocking, touching. Drama, romance, action. If you ever watch one foreign language movie then let it be this one.
77
Tattoo (2002,  Unrated)
Tattoo
It is a good movie, and highly original. It's been dubbed the German 'Se7en'. It's a shame it doesn't quite live up to that reputation to be honest. Although excellent in some ways it was too slow and not as gory as you think it should be!
78
Chicago (2002,  PG-13)
Chicago
I loved the way that this movie managed to capture the stage while bringing in the natural elements. It makes it different from most film adaptions of stage musicals. The performances are amazing as are the songs, but if I hear that bloody Mr. Cellophane song once more I'm going to wrap a whole roll of it around my head. Auto-asphyxiation... Nice.
79
Tipping the Velvet (2002,  R)
Tipping the Velvet
This is brilliantly acted and entirely original lesbian fare! I absolutely loved it, and had to watch the whole thing beginning until end after buying it. I was totally enthralled. It is brilliant.
80

Heavenly Creatures
One of Peter Jackson's first movies. It's based on true events and is absolutely brilliant. It's disturbing yet alluring. A bizarre mix, but watch it and enjoy the ride.
81
The Color Purple (1985,  PG-13)
The Color Purple
Whoopi Goldberg, and also Oprah Winfrey... Both show just what amazing actresses they truly are. The book is one that really touched me, and unlike some screen representations this is a beautiful, touching, deep movie. Needs to be watched.
82
If These Walls Could Talk 2 (2000,  R)
If These Walls Could Talk 2
I did really enjoy this trilogy of lesbian shorts, but it lacks depth to the groundbreak 'If These Walls Could Talk'. Vanessa Redgrave's story is unbelievably touching. The problem is that although the other two stories contain good ideas they lack as much depth or feeling.
83
Bull Durham (1988,  R)
Bull Durham
I absolutely hate baseball (sorry American dudes), but this movie gave me such an appreciation you have no idea. I adore Susan Sarandon, and this film proved to me why. The acting was brilliant and the story kept me hooked.
84
The Clearing (2004,  R)
The Clearing
Wow!! seems people hate this movie, but if you can honestly fault the acting then tell me now. The lovely Helen Mirren nearly out-acted Defoe and Redford. Actually, maybe she did. I'm sorry, but because of the acting and the story this deserves to be in my favourites. It's a brilliant film.
85
Clue (1985,  PG)
Clue
This is the biggest whodunnit movie of my youth, and I love it. Tim Curry is a God (stay out of all these movies I love so much mister.. it's weird). I adore this film. Comedy, murder, and intrigue... You better know it!
86
The Secret of NIMH (1982,  G)
The Secret of NIMH

87
Ginger Snaps 2 - Unleashed (2004,  R)
Ginger Snaps 2 - Unleashed
In some ways this movie is darker thn the original even though it isn't!! I still think this is a better sequel than most!! Love it... but it's a different kind of love.
88
Girl, Interrupted (1999,  R)
Girl, Interrupted
This is just a brilliant film with mazing actresses, and the lady who shone got an Oscar well deserved. It is simply brilliant!! It ticks drama and thriller boxes in my opinion. If you haven't seen it... Please do...
89
American History X (1998,  R)
American History X
The acting is second to none in this movie! It's extremely shocking though. Your mouth will pop wide open at least once! Incredibly strong performances from the Edwards. Amazing film!
90
The Rules of Attraction (2002,  R)
The Rules of Attraction
This movie is wicked! Some of the directing is just brilliant. Ian Somerhalder deserves to be stripped down and covered in chocolate before I'm set on him... Fantasize about me and not bloody Dawson dammit!!!
91
Grande Ecole (2004,  Unrated)
Grande Ecole
It is a beautifully acted film, and the lead character's confusion and heart being torn in all directions is so true to life. It's also a very educated film with all the subject matter that is touched on. Oh, and maybe the best shower scenes of any movie!! Yummy!
92
Cruel Intentions (1999,  R)
Cruel Intentions
Absolutely brilliant. This film is so sexy I want to make love to the DVD sleeve goddammit!! It's brilliant. Ryan and Sarah just ooze the sexiness I wish I had. I may be gay, but I'd definitely have a manage a trois with Sarah Involved. Brilliant. If you haven't seen it then you're nuts.
93
Goodbye Charlie Bright (2001,  Unrated)
Goodbye Charlie Bright
The best part of this movie is probably Paul Nicholls running naked at the beginning. It's okay I suppose. Really well acted, but disjointed and slow in some places. It has really good parts, but in my opinion it lets itself down.
94
Edge of Seventeen (1999,  R)
Edge of Seventeen
The guy that plays the main character, Eric, is just so unbelievably endearing in his thoroughly honest portrayal of struggling with his feelings. The friend, Maggie, is also portayed with amazing honesty, and sometimes the lesbian friend steals the show. Beautifully acted. I want my own Eric to take home to mum.
95
The Trip (2003,  R)
The Trip
The relationship between the two guys is so touching that the ending is heart-wrenching. The main character's bf looks like a young Brad Pitt, but they are both so cute. Really well acted with a different storyline. It's a really good movie.
96
Ethan Mao (2004,  Unrated)
Ethan Mao
This film wasn't what I was expecting at all. It's very touching in some ways, disturbing in others, but very well acted. A love story like you'll never have seen, and so original it deserves a good rating.
97
Mickybo and Me (2005,  R)
Mickybo and Me
This was a really brilliant drama. Beautifully acted by the two young boys, and Julie Walters was brilliant as ever. Highly enjoyable storyline, while tackling the troubles of Belfast at the same time. I wasn't too sure about the scene where Mickybo was talking to his dead father, but it's a very good film.
98
Bande à part (Band of Outsiders) (1964,  Unrated)
Bande à part (Band of Outsiders)
The first film where people run through The Louvre! I own both movies where that happens. This is a beautiful piece of film-making with some movie-stealing scenes. After watching The Dreamers I rushed to buy this. It is brilliant and I highly recommend it.
99
Ma vraie vie à Rouen (My Life on Ice) (2003,  Unrated)
Ma vraie vie à Rouen (My Life on Ice)
I adore this movie!! It is just so unbelievably heart-felt. It's all filmed by hand-held camera... Mostly by the main actor, which gives it the reality of it really being Etienne's life on video diary. The main actor is an amazing ice skater and gives a great performance. Seriously... Check it out. You won't be sorry!
100
Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001,  R)
Y Tu Mama Tambien
This movie doesn't disappoint. It's sexy as hell, and incredibly touching. If only it was me with those two boys. Seriously love it! Quickly has become a favourite of mine. One message comes from this... Live every day as if it was your last. One day it will be.
101
Taxi Driver (1976,  R)
Taxi Driver
This may be one of the best acted and best directed movies ever made. It is a total masterpiece!! Did I enjoy it? Not really! But I can completely appreciate it. It is brilliant. The last 25mins were the best for me, but you needed the rest to kind of understand Travis. I'll watch it again.. but not for a very long time.
102
The Machinist (2004,  R)
The Machinist
This is just one of those movies that is so difficult to watch that you're surprised someone hasn't strapped you to a chair and pinned youe eyes open, because you can't help but stare. Amazingly acted, and the weight he lost? Scary. Would I watch it again? Not unless someone did what I said earlier.
103
The Proposition (2005,  R)
The Proposition
The performances in this movie are totally amazing from Guy Pearce to Ray Winstone to Emaily Watson to the lesser parts. It's incredibly bleak, and makes you cringe at times, but hey, life isn't always pretty and wasn't when and where this film is set. You may not enjoy this movie, but it doesn't stop it from being a downright honest and brilliant piece of film-making.
104
Beautiful Boxer (2005,  Unrated)
Beautiful Boxer
This movie is amazing, and totally beautiful as it says in the title. The fighting scenes are second to none, and it's a really heart-warming story of a boy who realises he's in the wrong body, and becomes a fighting star to raise the money to change that. An instant favourite of mine.
105
Happy Endings (2005,  R)
Happy Endings
This movie is just absolutely brilliant. Funny in places, yet pure drama throughout. Keeps you guessing, and every single character goes on a journey. I think every performance in this is simply amazing. Definitely glad I found some hidden gems in ex-rental!!
106

107
Head On (1999,  Unrated)
Head On
This movie is incredibly bleak, and very depressing and shocking in a lot of places, but hey, that's life for a lot of people. This is an amazing drama and incredibly well acted. Alex Dimitriades is phenomenal as the lead and this movie made him hot property in Australia...
108

This movie is really cute. Great performances from Chris and Leelee to show you just how heart-wrenching love is whatever you have to go through. A really honest and beautiful film.
109
Cote d'Azur (Crustaces & Coquillages) (2005,  Unrated)
Cote d'Azur (Crustaces & Coquillages)
This brilliant movie is better known as 'Cockles and Muscles' in the Western world. This film is bloody brilliant. All the characters are hiding secrets pretty much and they spin a complicated web with their relationships and issues. It's funny, yet serious at the same time! I laughed out loud when there was a musical number at the end!! Just bloody brilliant. I'm definitely going to buy it!
110
The Libertine (2006,  R)
The Libertine
This movie is amazingly acted, and is a bleakly beautiful film. Johnny is absolutely amazing, as are Morton and Pike. It is deeply dark, and the fact that Johnny's character is so deeply ugly inside in many ways that it eventually catches up with him on the outside gives you a harsh lesson about morality, and the fact that what goes around comes around. Brilliant, but at times difficult to watch.
111
You I Love (2004,  Unrated)
You I Love
A gay-positive movie from Russia? Who would have thought it, and it's actually really good. The characters each battle their own demons in different ways, and it is really enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
112
Piggy Banks (Born Killers) (2005,  R)
Piggy Banks (Born Killers)
This is actually a really good film. The cast are all brilliant, and you really feel for the main character even though he's a killer. Really good movie, and not one many know about.
113
Spin the Bottle (2001,  Unrated)
Spin the Bottle
You can definitely tell it's a low budget flick, but I like the story of manipulation and reveng done in a very light-hearted way. Not always is time a healer as this movie proves. Not a great movie, but a good one!
114
Tristan & Isolde (2006,  PG-13)
Tristan & Isolde
This film is just brilliantly acted, and is very similar to Romeo and Juliet in some ways. It's beautiful, and a brilliant period drama to make sure you check out.
115
Lords of Dogtown (2005,  PG-13)
Lords of Dogtown
This is the best skateboard movie you will ever see! Based on a true story with a hot cast of amazing characters it is simply brilliant. One you could probably watch again and again. If you haven't seen it, then take a couple of hours out of your life to do so!

118
Step Up (2006,  PG-13)
Step Up
Oh my God... Just strip down Channing Tatum... Cover him in White chocolate sauce and let me loose!! He is sooo hot you could fry a meal on his torso. Oh... the movie? Brilliant! The dancing is second to none. A brilliant mix of two dance worlds colliding. Watch it... I dare you...

El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth) (2006,  R)
El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
A truly phenomenal modern fairy tale masterpiece. This movie had me gripped throughout. I was sympathetic to certain characters from the start and intrigued what my eyes would behold as I carried on watching it. True brilliance.
120
Stranger Than Fiction (2006,  PG-13)
Stranger Than Fiction
I found this movie very odd as it started, but then it just got better and better. Absolutely loved it!! Amazing cast, and very original story. Definitely one I would check out.
121
The Chumscrubber (2005,  R)
The Chumscrubber
This movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's dark but funny, has an amazing cast, and the whole story-line goes together well whilst still being believable. It could actually happen, and you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Can't praise this movie and Jamie Bell enough!!
122
300 (2007,  R)
300
Brilliantly acted movie with an amazing fact-based storyline. The lighting of the whole thing makes the film-making highly original. The fight scenes are brilliant. I used to study classical civilisation so I'm definitely glad I enjoyed this movie. I highly recommend it. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is something was lacking for me that I can't put my finger on!
123
Apocalypto (2006,  R)
Apocalypto
This movie is just awe-inspiring! I can't say enough about it. One of the best and most original (and yes, violent) and touching movies you will ever see. It seriously makes you think. Cannot recommend it enough.
124
Blood Diamond (2006,  R)
Blood Diamond
Simply one of the best movies I have seen. Amazingly acted, original and true to life story. The characters are amazing and the heart and lack of heart of the film and characters brought out so many feelings that I can't give it enough praise.
125
The Black Dahlia (2006,  R)
The Black Dahlia
What an amazing cast! This movie is actually a lot better than I thought it might be. It was about time there was a movie linked with one of Hollywood's most notorious murder cases, and the cast is hotter than Hades. Definitely one to check out!
126
The Guardian (2006,  PG-13)
The Guardian
Just a brilliant drama movie to be honest. Brilliant cast. It must have taking some serious training for the actors to be put through their paces as they were. Demi Moore is one lucky lady to have Ashton. I'd definitely fake drowning if he'd come and save me!!
127
Shortbus (2006,  Unrated)
Shortbus
This is a movie that needed to be made! It's brilliant. Highly explicit, and you can't help get turned on in some places, but I think that's the point. Sex is taboo, but human, so why not make a movie that addresses it frankly? Brilliant movie, and I'm in love with Ceth's character. He is beautiful...
128
The Departed (2006,  R)
The Departed
Wow... What a twisted but brilliant movie. Phenomanally acted, and a real credit to Martin Scorsese's direction. Twists and turns a plenty and more uses of the f-word than most movies! Bloody amazing.
129
Capote (2005,  R)
Capote
Just a completely brilliantly acted piece of film-making. It's a shame it started off so slow-paced really. It's got amazing characterization and he definitely deserved the Oscar for this role. I wouldn't rush out to buy it, but it's still a great movie I'm glad I've seen.
130
The Queen (2006,  PG-13)
The Queen
Helen Mirren proves her acting ability as always. She has now played both Queen Elizabeth's with beautiful accuracy. Her very own portrait... Check it out.
131
The Fountain (2006,  PG-13)
The Fountain
Holy wow... This is one of the most amazing movies you will see. Sometimes it tries too hard, but it has great themes, symbolism and the most amazing cinematogrpahy that is second to none. Astonishingly beautiful shots that will simply surprise you. Keeps your brain ticking...
132
Elizabeth (1998,  R)
Elizabeth
Cate's an amazing actress, and this movie will show anyone why!! Brilliantly historical drama. Joseph Fiennes is beautiful as always too.
133
Marie Antoinette (2006,  PG-13)
Marie Antoinette
Having a modern soundtrack for a period piece could have worked, but didn't in this case. There was beautiful imagery in places, but again didn't quite work. Either Sofia Coppola is trying to hard or not hard enough. Not really sure. Bit of a shame.
134
The Da Vinci Code (2006,  PG-13)
The Da Vinci Code
So, I may not have read the book yet, but I throughly enjoyed the movie. It kept me guessing, and I was hooked throughout which is definitely a sign of a good movie no matter what! If you haven't seen it then do.
135
The Prestige (2006,  PG-13)
The Prestige
Christian Bale was just briilliant in this movie, and it was one that kept me thinking. Although not majorly. It was a good movie, but I'm not sure I found it that enjoyable really. Decide for yourself.
136
The Night Listener (2006,  R)
The Night Listener
Hmm... Extremely well acted, but completely freaky and disturbing, and not in a good way. It's just not a particularly enjoyable movie. It's just weird...
137
Twelve and Holding (12 and Holding) (2006,  R)
Twelve and Holding (12 and Holding)
Wow... An absolute unexpected pleasure. You follow the lives of these three twelve year olds as three plots, but linked from their friendship. It's just a surprisingly honest look at problems many people can hjave to a lesser extent. Brilliant cast, and brilliantly original. I adore it!
138
Alpha Male (2006,  R)
Alpha Male
I was highly disappointed by this movie... It took ages to get into because it was so fractured from the beginning, and confused you. It was really difficult to relate or feel anything for the characters until nearer the end, when it got slightly better but most of the characters felt cold. Shame.
139
Taxidermia (2006,  Unrated)
Taxidermia
An incredibly original and grotesque look at obsessions, which leads into in being a stroke of genius. Is is definitely a movie you cannot compare to any other, and is incredibly bizarre, which is it's beauty. There's some amazing cinematography as well...
140
Sunshine (2007,  R)
Sunshine
This is one of the best sci fi movies I have seen. Completely original and amazingly well done. I also like the fact that as with The Day After Tomorrow... It could actually happen.
141
11:14 (2003,  R)
11:14
This movie is bloody brilliant. One of the best movies I have seen recently. It's very clever the way everyone's stories intertwine and how one small action can affect you or someone else. Marvellous...
142
Undertow (2004,  R)
Undertow
This movie is brilliantly acted by an amazing cast. Great story and characterization. Very atmospheric thrilling drama. Jamie Bell is just a great actor. May he keep getting better!
143
Fracture (2007,  R)
Fracture
Brilliantly acted. As if it wouldn't have been! There's a little bit of Hannibal in Hopkins' character, and Gosling is broody and sexy as always. Really loved the relationship between their two characters and how a look means a thousand words. Great stuff.
144
Unknown (2006,  Unrated)
Unknown
This movie has been slated by some, but I thought it was brilliant. It kept me guessing throughout and it's concept is great. Guys waking up without any memory and not knowing who is hostage and who is kidnapper? Ace!
145
In Dreams (1998,  R)
In Dreams
There are times I forget just what a brilliant actress Annette Bening is. This is a brilliant psychologic thriller, and both her and Robert Downey Jnr are brilliant. A great movie packed with suspense that makes you wonder what will happen next!
146
Black Snake Moan (2007,  R)
Black Snake Moan
This movie is bloody brilliant! I was worried I wasn't, but I thought it was a great concept. There are a few people I know that need to be on a chain to repent and several I'd like to help myself!! LOL. Even my mum got into it in the end! Justin & Christina... Hot hot hot...
147
Goya's Ghosts (2007,  R)
Goya's Ghosts
Natalie Portman shines in this movie. She looks absolutely stunning aprt from when she plays the older Ines, and then she gets respect from me for keeping her jaw in that position. It's an interesting drama, but I have to say... It's not very enjoyable at all... Which is a shame.
148
Pathfinder (2007,  R)
Pathfinder
This could well have some of the best natural cinematography you have ever seen! Brilliant action, and story, and characters too. Pretty bloody though, and I'm surprised there wasn't a higher rating for it. Check it out though, definitely!!
149
The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros (Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros) (2006,  Unrated)
The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros (Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros)
This is one of the sweetest foreign movies I have seen in a long time. It has a big heart. It's like a grittier 'Ma Vie En Rose'. Much better characters and actors. The lead makes you realise how beautiful he is without hardly trying, although he does have more mince than the local butcher's!! Brilliant.
150
Flags of Our Fathers (2006,  R)
Flags of Our Fathers
This is a good war film, but I wouldn't say it is absolutely amazing. I think Letters From Iwo Jima is much better with more soul. If you don't mind subtitles check that out. But both movies together? Great package!
151
Letters from Iwo Jima (2006,  R)
Letters from Iwo Jima
This movie has a lot more heart and soul than Flags of Our Fathers. It shows the Japanese showing more mercy than the Americans which was surprising, although not at the same time. It shows the futility of war when one nation is a giant compared to the other. You can relate it to any war you like. I love the bleakness of the cinematography colours too.
152
Half Nelson (2006,  R)
Half Nelson
Ryan Gosling shines as always in this brilliant drama. The cinematography is great, because each shot is shaking slightly as if he is constantly buzzing throughout, and with the amount of drugs his character's taking he probably is!! The friendship between him and his student is tough and heart-warming. Outstanding.
153
Tan Lines (2007,  Unrated)
Tan Lines
Jack Baxter who plays Midget Hollow is absolutely stunning, and you totally fall for his confused character who is sleeping with both sexes. This movie reminds me of how much I miss Australia and Australians too! Love their sense of humour and must move back there!
154
Zodiac (2007,  R)
Zodiac
It is great watching this movie unravel. It unravels slowly, but so did the case over the years, so why should the movie be any faster? I actually cringed at the killings. Probably because I knew this happened to actual people. I'm sure the Zodiac is smiling from his grave that this movie was made. All I can say is great drama, and at least it did the actual case justice...
155
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006,  R)
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
I think this is a brilliant movie about obsession, addiction, and circumstance. It's like 'Scent of a Woman' on crack and acid and warped back in time. Extremely clever in my opinion. What would you do if you had a heightened sense? Beautifully constructed movie with great cinematography, editing, and acting. Highly under-rated.
156
Imaginary Heroes (2004,  R)
Imaginary Heroes
One of the best movies I'd seen in a long time. Watching each member of the family struggle with their own demons after the death of the oldest son is just amazing. They are all completely different characters with their own slight similarities. It is really funny in places and completely poignant. Sigourney Weaver and Emile Hirsch steal the show and rightly so. If you haven't seen it then check it out NOW. You won't be disappointed!!
157
Breaking and Entering (2007,  R)
Breaking and Entering
I was extremely impressed with this movie. In some ways I was expecting a rom com, but I was completely proved wrong. Both Jude and Juliette were phenomenal! One of the best and heart-felt dramas I've seen in a very long time!
158
Race You to the Bottom (2005,  R)
Race You to the Bottom
I was extremely under-whelmed by this movie. It brings up such amazing questions when you have fag hags. They can so fall in love with you if you aren't careful. Problem is this whole movie is based on arguments between gay boy and straight female. That ISN'T entertainment!!
159
Loggerheads (2005,  Unrated)
Loggerheads
This is a very poignant drama which follows three stories. One of a young gay guy with HIV who wants to save turtles, one of a preacher's wife who misses her son, and one of a woman who misses the child she gave up for adoption. I thought it was really well done, and it's based on a true story, which I believe it did justice as you do feel for all of the character's one way or the other. I'm not surprised that it's the preacher who comes off worst, as religion has blinded throughout the years.
160
Vacancy (2007,  R)
Vacancy
Hmm... It was alright, but a bit predictable in places, and the ending was pretty dull. The relationship between the couple was a bit stale, but there was some good action. It's worth watching once, but that's about it. An ok movie.
161
Lonely Hearts (2006,  R)
Lonely Hearts
The best thing about this movie is Salma Hayek's performance. She is cold and calculating, yet emotional with her own inner and outer turmoils. Watch this movie if just for that! My biggest issue was how slow and dull this was in points and unfortunately that dulled the other moments of sheer brilliance.
162
Hate Crime (2005,  R)
Hate Crime
This movie is pretty scary when you think about the fact that there is so much homophobic violence still, not matter how far we've progressed. I think this film attacks the subject brilliant, with the fact I was questioning if my partner was killed in such an attack would I maybe seek revenge and take it into my own hands as the authorities hadn't? If I loved someone that much... Yes, I probably would. Brilliant movie that needed to be made, and very well done.
163
Candy (2006,  R)
Candy
Wow!! Just amazing performances from Heath and Abbie. They were absolutely brilliant! One of the best drug/romance drams you can imagine. Incredibly depressing in places, but made with such heart. It's their addiction to each other, as well as heroine that rips them apart...
164
Reality Bites (1993,  PG-13)
Reality Bites
Brilliant cast, and a completely classic romantic drama. Ahh... the issues of falling for one of your friends. I think we've all been there! Just brilliant!
165
Girl With a Pearl Earring (2003,  PG-13)
Girl With a Pearl Earring
This is one of those movies that is incredibly stark, yet beautiful at the same time. The performances from Scarlett and Colin are phenomenal. It's amazing how Scarlett's character can say so much without actually saying much at all. It's all expression and mannerism. One of those period pieces that are definitely worth seeing...
166
Infamous (2006,  R)
Infamous
A completely amazing cast, and a pretty bloody good drama. Toby Jones is amazing as Capote, and the rest of the acting was great form. There was just too many interview sections throughout. If those hadn't been there then perfect...
167
Oldboy (2005,  R)
Oldboy
Wow! Wow! Wow! This is one of the best foreign movies I have ever seen. It's full of amazing shots, amazing acting, and amazing characters. The suspense is phenomenal as is the drama, and my God... is it worth it! This movie is also incredibly bleak but done with such compassion. Incest isn't a nice subject, but this tackles it with gusto that includes both innocence and violent angst... All I can say is watch it for yourself!
168
Gone (2007,  R)
Gone
This movie is along the lines of Wolf Creek, athough that is more sadistic, and this is more psychological. People expecting gore won't get it till the last ten minutes, but I think that is what's clever about this film and the mind games it plays throughout... It makes it different. A well acted suspenseful drama...
169
The Brave One (2007,  R)
The Brave One
This is a movie that reminded me what a phenomenal actress Jodie Foster is. It is a completely brilliant revenge movie as well, and really makes you question what is wrong and what is right? I completely went on the journey with Jodie's character and in my opinion this is a must see movie...
170
Disturbia (2007,  PG-13)
Disturbia
Wow! David Morse is generally scary as the neighbour in suspicion. Definitely an amazing drama/thriller. It actually scared me more than most horrors and is a brilliant concept! What would I do if I was under house arrest? Probably go insane! I definitely wouldn't spy on mnay of my neighbours as this neighbourhood is dull! Sheer genius though!
171
A Good Year (2006,  PG-13)
A Good Year
This is a good, easily watchable drama with a few well-placed laughs thrown in. There are definitely worse ways to spend two hours! Beautiful setting, and a really 'nice' story.
172
Death Sentence (2007,  R)
Death Sentence
This may well be an ultimate revenge movie where Kevin Bacon is amazing... But, would you keep your family in the house instead of making them flee. Don't get me wrong, if anyone touched my siblings or mum I would do exactly what he did without any care for myself but I'd make sure who was left was safe. It's a well done film that pissed me off, but I'm glad I saw. Nuff said...
173
Atonement (2007,  R)
Atonement
This is a really good film, but was really annoying in places, and frustrating to watch. It is well acted although Keira's accent is completely bloody annoying and I wanted to slap her. A great story, and incredibly beautiful in places. James is as gorgeous as ever... I think that's the best thing about this movie!
174
Mute Witness (1995,  R)
Mute Witness
This was pretty good actually, and does beg the question what would you do if you couldn't speak and were the only witness of a murder? The main actress played it really well, and there were plenty of twists and turns. Definitely a thriller that was worth the watch!
175
American Gangster (2007,  R)
American Gangster
It's actually pretty amazing to see Denzel playing someone on the other side of the law, and he completely pulls it off in this. It's one of the best dramas I've seen in a long time! My only issie with it is that it goes on a bit too long, but other than that it's a great cast, and a great true crime film, and definitely worth checking out...
176
Sweeney Todd (2006,  Unrated)
Sweeney Todd
This was actually a very well done BBC drama. Nice and gory too! Although, Mrs Lovett's accent was extremely annoying Ray Winstone really stole the show as Mr. Todd. A really good portayal.
177
Miss Austen Regrets (2008,  Unrated)
Miss Austen Regrets
This is a brilliant period drama done by the BBC, and thoroughly watchable. A bit of an untold story about Jane Austen herself. Definitely worth checking out if you are able.
178
Juno (2007,  PG-13)
Juno
This movie has got the biggest heart of any movie I've seen in ages. The dialogue is second to none, as are the characters. Brilliantly funny, brilliantly moving, and I can't fault it. My favourite movie for a long time. Love it!!!
179
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta) (2004,  R)
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta)
The cinematography is amazing in this movie. Just the sheer variety of all the different places the characters go to makes it breath-taking. The different peoples of South America they meet and sometimes help is very touching. And Gael Garcia Bernal is sexy as hell! Very good movie.
180
Mr. Brooks (2007,  R)
Mr. Brooks
This really seems to be a career defining role for Costner. It's completely different to anything he's done before and BLOODY brilliant. Literally. I love it. All of the twists and turns with respectful characters makes this a pretty great film. Check the acting!
181
August Rush (2007,  PG)
August Rush
Talk about disappointed... What could have been a great movie really was pretty awful. This could have been great, but I just didn't believe any of it, the ending was not as climactic as it could have been and it was altogether disjointed. Also, I hate it when Robin Williamsd plays a bad guy. It makes me uneasy.
182
Ruby in the Smoke (,  Unrated)
183
Dreamgirls (2006,  PG-13)
Dreamgirls
I really wish that the first half of this movie was as great as the second half or second third. I find it incredibly dull until then. Jennifer Hudson is deserving of that Oscar as she wipes the floor with anyone else in this film. She was phenomenal, and her singing just makes my spine tingle. Worth watching, on only for her!
184
Fond Kiss..., Ae, (Just a Kiss) (2004,  R)
Fond Kiss..., Ae, (Just a Kiss)
This movie could have been so much better except that every argument that didn't include both main actors was absolutely terrible and seemed badly improvised. Also, Casim's best friend was a huge hypocrite with no real case. This could have been an amazing film, but the fact that the lesser cast were mostly poorly cast and arguments were sheer bollocks, it made it VERY mediocre. Shame. Oh, and also, what of her family?! Hello!!
185
I Can't Think Straight (2008,  PG-13)
I Can't Think Straight
Now why do I want to see this movie so much I hear you ask?! Because I'm in it!!! Okay, so not a major role, but hey! It's a start!! Yay!!!
186
Shakespeare in Love (1998,  R)
Shakespeare in Love
This is just an incredibly original love story, and although not true to life, it;s very clever the way everything is linked throughout the story. Definitely a love story with a difference, and all the main characters are very appealing. Comedy & tragedy... Just the way a movie loosely based on Shakespeare should be...
187
Brick Lane (2008,  PG-13)
Brick Lane
Thios movie was extremely well cast. I thought all the expression and emotion the main actress brought through in just her eyes was brilliant. It is a fairly bleak story, but if you want a fairly calm drama this is for you.
188
Lie With Me (2005,  Unrated)
Lie With Me
This is one of the sexiest films I have ever seen! If you don't mind fairly graphic sex scenes this is just incredibly well done. The emotion brought through the characters as well as passion is just immense. It is shot well, with a soundtrack that doesn't over-power the goings on. Understated at times to it's own advantage this is one steamy watch that is well worth it!
189
Ken Park (2002,  Unrated)
Ken Park
This is one sexy movie... And weird as always when it comes to Larry Clark's movies! The main character is weirdly attractive, and all characters have weird quirks with them and their families. It has it's own very bizarere insight!
190
While She Was Out (2008,  R)
While She Was Out
I prefer Cellular to be honest! Kim Basinger is brilliant as this woman being pursued by evil youths, and Lukas Haas makes a scary bad boy, but a whole film of terror doesn't work in this instance...
191
Paranoid Park (2007,  R)
Paranoid Park
There are some brilliant camera shots in this, and it has the most eclectic soundtrack I've heard in a while. Gabe Nevins plays the moody skate-boarding lead really well (although I'm guessing it wasn't a stretch), and is scarily beautiful. You can't help but want to watch him. Very interesting drama... But it does has dull points where you're willing something to happen!
192
There Will Be Blood (2007,  R)
There Will Be Blood
Daniel Day Lewis gives an acting tour de force... If I had one hundredth of his talent as an actor I'd be a lucky man. Can I say that I enjoyed this movie a lot? No, but it is brilliant. I found it weird how HW grows up, but Eli doesn't change... At the same time maybe the ending wouldn't have had the effect it did if it had been a different actor. Brilliant, shocking, but not pleasant...
193
Foxfire (1996,  R)
Foxfire
This movie was a nice surprise... Angelina's name drew me to it, and watching it I realised it must have been when she had her lesbian relationship, as the girl is in it. The characters are really good, Ms Jolie's breasts look amazing (haha!), and you can see similarities between her character in this and her Oscar-winning performance in "Girl, Interrupted", but it's a good gritty drama. Girl power I say!
194
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007,  PG-13)
The Bourne Ultimatum
A bloody good action film, and pretty good ending for the trilogy. Interesting to find out a bit more about Bourne and all his circumstances that made him who he is. Definitely worth a watch...
195
The Astronaut's Wife (1999,  R)
The Astronaut's Wife
Talk about an amazingly freaky movie... Very well acted by both! Not exactly the kind of film you want to watch again and again, but really good. Yes, people are going to keep making "Rosemary's Baby" comparisons, and fair enough, but it is a good twisted film with two amazing actors...
196
Boy Culture (2006,  Unrated)
Boy Culture
Is it awful when as a gay man you want to sleep with the three room-mates? Or just human? Or are you glad the characters are gay? Anyway, despite all that this is a really good film where you really care about the characters. There is a great story, and from young-un to the main rent boy you actually really feel for them all equally. Very well done.
197
Into the Wild (2007,  R)
Into the Wild
The word WOW sums this up... It's unbelievable to me that someone did all this. I would love to live two weeks in the wild to say I've done it, but what this guy did is immense, and I wish he could have told us all in person rather than writing...
198
Rescue Dawn (2007,  PG-13)
Rescue Dawn
Christian Bale gives an amazing performance is this war rescue movie. A true story with an eventual happy ending. It's gritty and tugs with most strings within you, but it gets so bleak in places that it doesn't matter how true it is as things are only touched on. What is good could have been great from something that was bad.
199
December Boys (2007,  PG-13)
December Boys
It's a 'nice' film. There really isn't too much to say other than that! It's worth a watch if you're bored. It's a 'nice' enough story with a 'nice' cast, and 'nice' setting. And it's 'nice' to see Daniel Radcliffe get laid bless him!
200
Shelter (2007,  R)
Shelter
This is a really nice bro-mance film! Really heart-warming with a hot cast. Completely believable, and beautifully shot!
201
Sparkle (2007,  Unrated)
Sparkle
Sparkle is a hidden gem that I stumbled across! Stockhard Channing, with Anthony Head as her gay brother?! And the lead guy is doing her and her daughter! That's a crude explanation! But it's just a brilliant romantic drama, and I adore it!!
202
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
This movie is just amazing... Watching the deconstruction unfold, and yet proving at the same time that some people really ARE meant to be together. Carrey in what is most likely his best role, and Winslet in one of hers. I love a quirky Kate! It is beautiful, magical, poignant, depressing, and uplifting, and not many movies can say that...
203
In Bruges (2008,  R)
In Bruges
Just Wow... You have so many mixed feelings watching this movie it's intrue. It is deeply and darkly funny, yet completely tragic in places. Colin Farrell is genius in the role, and you root for him, not matter how much of a twat he's acting. Complete bloody movie genius... And he totally hates Bruges! I can vouch it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world...
204
The Oxford Murders (2008,  Unrated)
The Oxford Murders
It has some great actors in it, but it is so flat most of the way through that if it was a person you would shake them to get more of a response out of them! I really felt for Burn Gorman too whose character was dubbed (by himself I'm sure) really badly throughout the film so when he was on screen it was distracting. I bet he wasn't too happy at the premier... It's OK, but really it's probably best to watch if you want a good night's sleep after...
205
Son of Rambow (2007,  PG-13)
Son of Rambow
This is a really cute film. The two main actors are simply brilliant young talent. They completely make the film. It's heart-warming, dramatic and a good laugh. Really well-made, but the French kid's character is completely unneccessary. Well worth a watch for anyone!
206
He's Just Not That Into You (2009,  PG-13)
He's Just Not That Into You
This was one of the best rom-coms I've seen in ages. All the different characters & their different issues and entanglements gave it a believability, and you're rooting for the characters throughout. A stellar cast and a great script means it is well worth sitting down with some friends and a cup of hot chocolate to watch this.
207
Twilight (2008,  PG-13)
Twilight
Okay, so it's no wonder people are talking about this movie. It is absolutely beautifully done. I am so glad I finally saw it... It is everything people say & more & that is the truest compliment I can give. Watch it... Now!!
208
Hush (2009,  Unrated)
Hush
This was a very random pastiche of a movie... There are a lot of trucker killer movies. I believe this is the first British one after Aussie and US equivalents. There were times when it was a bit too real, but also points where the main character had options that would have been better! Very odd, but amazingly acted!!

Slumdog Millionaire (2008,  R)
Slumdog Millionaire
This is a truly beautiful film, warts and all... Just like humanity... It's always a shame about the warts, but I loves it! The director I have to give the biggest props to! That was phenomenally done! Just amazing. The hype is ripe!

Låt den Rätte Komma In (Let the Right One in) (2008,  R)
Låt den Rätte Komma In (Let the Right One in)
Wow. This is a coming of age story you have never seen. This is a vampire movie you have never seen. It is a foreign film du force. Just unbelievably good with young actors that bring it to life. Poignant, pale, and abosolutely poetic. I can't praise this movie enough. You watching it is the only justice.

Revolutionary Road (2008,  R)
Revolutionary Road
This is an incredibly well-acted movie. The issue is that it is very dull in places, and quite drawn out. It is a complete study of the dissolution of a marriage/relationship in a way. Love & hate really do go hand in hand at times, because they are the strongest emotions. It is very realistic, but if you are having marital problems of your own it's probably not a good idea to watch it!!

Milk (2008,  R)
Milk
Wow! The reviews and the Oscars don't even do this film justice. It's really empowering to watch the story of someone like Milk, who campaigned so much for not only us gays, but all minorities. It's people like him, and the gays involved in the Stonewall riots that paved the way for us to be so much luckier today and not have to hide in the woodwork. I wasn't a Sean Penn fan at all until watching this film, but he embodied the real-life character he played. From smiling to anger to crying... This movie brought out every emotion. Phenomenal.

Blindness (2008,  R)
Blindness
This was one of the bleakest movies I have ever seen. It was a really interesting concept though, because as everyone becomes blind they become (non flesh-eating) zombies stumbling about. It shines an interesting light on humanity, dependency, and all kinds of human nature. There are times you want to turn away from the film as it is that bleak & you don't think it can get bleaker. A lot of white screen used, and a lot of extremely dark screen used. Clever in someways. Irritating in others. Worth watching, although maybe not owning!

Mum & Dad (2008,  Unrated)
Mum & Dad
I thought that this movie was really well done considering they had what is known as a micro-budget! To be fair, I think it's good anyway, and there hasn't been a brit-horror quite like this. Mum & Dad are disturbed, but I sometimes feel like I can relate to parts of mum (that's so wrong!)... It's sick but with very mild humour in places. The main character who is 'adopted' is given an emotional tour de force by the actress playing her. Clever & should be commended in what they did with so little.

Eden Lake (2008,  R)
Eden Lake
This movie is sick and unrelenting. As a viewer you don't really get any satisfaction in a way because the innocent get slaughtered while the sicko gets spared, and is completely unapologetic. That said, it is very well done, and maybe what is the most disturbing thing is how it really could happen. With the British youth yob culture we have, which is getting worse... Who is to say it couldn't? Scary.

Dream Boy (2008,  R)
Dream Boy
OK... This movie does hit all emotions... It starts off as a sweet love story. You don't know the two main characters' names, they just start flirting, but there's religion involved. Blah. Then you realise finally why one character is so annoyingly quiet, and I clocked why slightly before. It gets darker. Then the Dream Boy (who is a dream boat) takes him on a trip with two mates, and it gets a confusing ending. I'm gonna read the book because this frustrated the bloody hell out of me! Watch & you'll understand what I mean. This shouldn't have had a Mulholland Drive moment!!!!!!!
