Ames Smith is an unsuspecting young Australian surfer, who boards an airplane in Sydney heading for Los Angeles, unaware that he is infected with a deadly virus that will ultimately spread into a pandemic. When Ames becomes violently sick and dies on the flight, the entire planeload of passengers are put into quarantine until the CDC (Centre for Disease Control) can find the source of the virus. However, when a judge rules the quarantine illegal, the passengers are released and return to their homes and daily lives not realizing they are transmitting the virus to everyone they come in contact with. Soon the pandemic is rapidly spreading across the city and the members of the CDC rush to find a vaccine before time runs out.

I enjoyed Tom Hanks part as i thought it was differate to his other roles

Word reached Clara, who hired brash private detective Bobbi Bacha to follow her husband. Once certain of his philandering ways, Clara confronted David and he promised not to see his younger paramour again. Clara tried to spice up their relationship, but eventually spotted him in a hotel parking lot arm-in-arm with her rival, and it became too much for her to take. The 44-year-old mother of two flew off the handle, and sacrificed everything for revenge.

'Great one'

One of the hallmarks of modern thriller films seems to be cherry-picking the best elements of the genre and then doing nothing with them. Disturbia is an intriguing film - partly because it stars new Hollywood wonderboy Shia LaBeouf but mainly because it is a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, a brilliant thriller about a wheelchair-bound man who spies on his neighbour and believes he has witnessed a murder. Or has he?

Here, the wheelchair is replaced with a house arrest ankle band, the protagonist is troubled teenager Kale (LaBeouf) and the neighbour is the creepy Mr Turner (David Morse), who develops an interest in Kale's mother, Julie (Carrie-Anne Moss). There is teen romance, a sidekick in the form of Ronnie (Aaron Yoo) and so much product placement that as the film meanders to its predictable conclusion you could be forgiven for thinking you've switched channels to an infomercial.

On-yay-ghin. It's Russian and it's depressing.

Hmmm... maybe that's a tautology.

Anyhoo, this adaptation simply reeks of eternal Russian pessimism. The bright side of life is only there to remind you of how bad things are. Every character, no matter their station or situation is drowning in a mire made from their own life. Every step forward is a step away from what you already have. Every breath is but an extension of your suffering. It's no wonder they invented vodka.

Ralph Fiennes makes a great jaded socialite and a pretty damned good unrequited lover. He captures the hopelessness of his character's culture with ease. No matter how happy he gets he always knows that he's about to fall. Like the great sage said, "This, too, shall pass". Liv Tyler is more human than any other character she's ever portrayed: virginally naïve as a lovesick girl and terminally tragic as a married woman. She and Ralph advance and retreat like German soldiers on the Russian front.

Toby Stephens absolutely shines as Vladimir, the provincial poet. He is at once intense and unfocussed. Like a stick of dynamite all he needs is the right fuse. That fuse is Onegin. His course of effete destruction reaches out and grabs those around him, dragging them into his personal hell. They may not suffer fire and brimstone but it makes eternity seem a long time.

If you like a good arty flick with lots of rich people being incredibly stupid and condemning themselves to live no better than the only life of which they can conceive, Onegin is a damned good film for you. Heck, even if you only go to see the frocks, it's worth the price of admission.

Gyllenhaal plays Sherry Swanson, a former heroin addict who has just been paroled from prison after serving three years for petty theft. She's trying to put her life back together and, in particular, re- establish her relationship with her daughter, who is now 5 and has been living with her brother and sister-in-law. (The child's father is long gone.)
Her character generates empathy. Viewers can't help but be sympathetic to the difficulties faced by a young parolee -- living in a group home of ex-convicts; reporting to an overworked, hard-nosed parole officer; trying to get a job; dealing with renewed cravings for drugs and alcohol, and working out a new relationship not only with her daughter but with her relatives who have cared for and grown to love the little girl.

Yet Sherry is hardly a saint, and despite the hardships she faces she can't escape her own self-destructive tendencies. In a raw and unsparing performance, Gyllenhaal lets us see the hair-trigger temper, the promiscuity and the sharp-tongued brazenness masking the low self-esteem and neediness that most likely got Sherry into trouble years earlier and that place her in jeopardy again.

The self-protective narcissism that probably enabled Sherry to survive prison makes her ill-equipped to recognize the new relationship her daughter, Alexis, played by the very natural Ryan Simpkins, has made with her brother Bobby (Brad William Henke) and sister-in-law (Bridget Barkan). Henke is terrific as a loyal brother torn between the love he retains for his troubled and troublesome sister, his love for his wife, who has given Alexis the affection and nurturing the little girl needs, and his own love he has developed for the child.

Henry is Jewish and is a professor at the local university. Julie is the daughter of Polish emigrants. Together they have twins, Nicolas and Nicole, who are 10 years old. A happy family, Julie adores her husband until the day she arrives home early from vacation and finds him in bed with another woman. Henry is terribly remorseful - for him it was just a one-night stand - and he begs for Julie's forgiveness. For Julie however, her entire world has fallen apart. And in the midst of it all, they find out that their little boy has cancer, and medicine cannot help him. All the members of the family cope in different ways with this tragedy. As a scientist, Henry has to accept it. Nicole tries some magic rituals. Julie's father turns to religion. And Julie refuses to admit that the boy is going to die.

In her desperation, she seeks the help of a Russian healer in Poland named Alexis. Alexis has never been with a woman before. Upon meeting Julie, he encounters something new and falls in love for the first time. Julie, out of gratitude for healing her son and admiration, begins to love him in return.

Top film sad one too, staight to the heart

Griffin is divorced, living in a flat in Manhattan while his sons and ex live in the family home in Westchester. Very slow film

A historical drama, BATTLE OF THE BRAVE boasts an excellent cast in a film about war and romance. Centered on the feud between England and France over Canada, the plot involves an ill-fated love that develops between a fur-trapper (David La Haye) and a young widow (Noemie Godin-Vigneau), making for a tale that is tense, absorbing, and heartbreaking.

L.A. journalist Karina Danes (Minnie Driver) has come to Juarez, Mexico, a small town on the US border, to write about maquiladoras, foreign-owned factories that attract poor workers despite sweatshop conditions. Most of the employees are women earning money to send back to their families. But many of them die before they have the chance. Since 1993, nearly 400 of these women have been raped and killed, often while walking home after brutally long work days. Local authorities have been ineffective in stopping the killing spree and their involvement called into question. Danes is introduced to this world by a Catholic priest, Father Herrera (Esai Morales), and a community activist, Patrick Nuncio (Angus McFadyen).

Mariela (Anna Claudia Talancon) is a teenager determined to help her family. When she leaves her village for the promise of Juarez her mother gives her a pendant of the Virgin of Guadalupe. It is her only protection. The Virgin, it appears, works mysteriously. Shortly after Mariela is hired at a maquiladora, she is abducted, raped, and left for dead in the desert. Mariela survives but the attack leaves her straddling two worlds. She has intense visions of the Virgin Mary and begins to exhibit signs of stigmata, the inexplicable appearance of wounds in her hands that mimic those Christ received when He was nailed to the cross.

Isidro (Jorge Cervera, Jr.) is a janitor at the hospital where Mariela is recovering. His wife was one of the murdered workers, and he is convinced Mariela is the embodiment of the Virgin herself, come to stop the feminocidio. He is not alone. As the story of Mariela?s ordeal spreads, she attracts a devout following and comes to be known as La Virgen. She preaches from an abandoned church.

For some, Mariela is dangerous. She has photographs of suspects in the Juarez killings and she disperses them with thinly veiled sermons. When another attempt is made on her life, Father Herrera and Danes help her move to the relative safety of Los Angeles. There, Mariela?s power is no less potent. With the help of Father Herrera?s gangster brother Gio (Noel Guglielmi), she continues to spread word of the events in Juarez. Soon, a series of suspects in the killings are themselves mysteriously murdered and authorities turn to La Virgen. During the investigation, Mariela comes face to face with a man carrying her Virgin of Guadalupe pendant, still stained with her blood. She has not seen it since the night of her attack. The lines between saint and sinner, redemption and revenge, good and evil are now difficult to discern.

The setting is Vienna. A young American woman is brought to a hospital after overdosing on pills, apparently in a suicide attempt. A police detective suspects foul play on the part of her lover, an American psychology professor. As doctors try to save her life, the detective interrogates the professor, and through flashbacks we see the events leading up to the woman's overdose; her stormy and intensely sexual relationship with the professor, her heavy drinking and numerous affairs, and her estrangement from her Czech husband. A darkly erotic study of several rather unsympathetic characters.

Whoopi Goldberg stars in this musical take on the South African struggles against Apartheid in the mid-1970s, during the imprisonment of Nelson Mandela. An adaptation of Mbongeni Ngema's popular musical, which ran on Broadway from 1988 to 1989, Sarafina! recounts the political coming of age of the title character, a high school girl involved in the Soweto student protests of 1976. At first just a petulant bundle of energy, more interested in boys than civil rights, Sarafina (Leleti Khumalo) learns of the Afrikaaner oppression through the underground lectures of her teacher, Mary Masembuko (Goldberg). Sarafina's mother, who works as a servant in a white household and never sees her children, urges Sarafina to toe the line. But she can no longer turn a blind eye when the government imprisons her teacher and slaughters her would-be boyfriend during an arson protest. Incited to rebellion, the students kill a crooked black constable, leaving Sarafina to wrestle with their decision to use violence against the government's strictures. Ever tightening its grip, the ruling regime would kill 575 blacks over eight months in an attempt to quell the civil unrest. The sober subject matter is leavened by Ngema's jubilant songs and Michael Peters' electric choreography.

Not everyone in the hill-country is cooperative, including the rough local musician Tom Bledsoe (the acclaimed AIDAN QUINN), who accuses Lily - now known far and wide as "The Songcatcher" - of exploiting the locals. But as Tom comes to see Lily's strength and passion for the music, and Lily begins to feel Tom's deep loyalty for his people, mutual respect and romance blossom. The fires are not confined to Lily's romantic life, though, and when disaster strikes hard at the very core of her mountain community and her own ambitions, Lily is faced with a choice: to remain an outsider forever or to join the musical, spirited community of the mountain people she has grown to admire.

So with you Marty it is ashame, but for the film it self, i did enjoy it :)

A film ?Sleepwalking? by Bill Maher. Sleepwalking has terrible camera work. It?s one of the main problems with it. Its shot like a sappy Lifetime movie, close-up after close-up in the film?s most pivotal scenes tires the audience. What?s great about this movie is it?s not flashy like people think movies need to be. It is not over the top, not glamorous. This movie is striped to the bare essence of what it takes to make a good film or better, great acting, and a genuine story line. Sleepwalking?s ending hardly even tries to put some sort of resolution. It?s an all-throughout morbid storyline that deserved a true resolution, sadly it barely had one. The cinematography by Juan Ruiz Anchia is bleak yet beautiful and the screenplay by Zac Stanford, while meager, still manages to make the characters? plight heartfelt if too familiar.

Duncan Mudge (Emile Hirsch) is a shy, isolated, sexually confused farm boy whose mother has recently died, leaving him under the supervision of a stern, depressed father. Duncan seems somehow to have transferred his love for the deceased mother to his favorite chicken, which he takes everywhere, even to bed. He has developed the odd habit of putting the chicken's head in his mouth -- to calm the animal, he says, though the act also seems to reflect sublimation of homosexual desire.[citation needed] Duncan also likes to dress in his late mother's clothing, much to the distress of his confused father. The small, insular band of redneck teens that comprise adolescent social life in Duncan's world initially ostracize him, then allow him in to their circle only reluctantly, and largely for their own amusement. Duncan is beset with a profound sense of grief while trying to reconcile himself to a world in which he is a sexual alien. His crush on one of the local kids, Perry (Tom Guiry), leads to a resolution of sorts.

Badland is a must for everyone. The film is harrowing and emotionally draining. It certainly packs a punch. Jamie Draven acts his part superbly as an anguished and desperate man- and his American accent is even passable! There is very much an atmosphere of claustrophobia and desolation running through the story that it is quite spine chilling in its effect.I believe this will have quite an impact on audiences on release. The only criticism might be that it is too long- there were scenes that could have been shortened. But the overall effect was spellbinding. Congratulations to Badland Films for a believable story brought to us with all the inherent pain and guilt that the main character portrays. His pain is deafening. Congratulations to Jamie Draven too- an ideal choice.

Lori and John Wilson, employees of an emergency response center, must find a way to survive the initial lava storms, to save John's father and their two teenage children. Even more importantly, they must find a way to slow the path of the lava storms, to give humankind the time to find a solution to this natural disaster, in order to save humanity and our Earth.

The title character in this made-for-cable contemporary Western could be hard-bitten cattle rancher John William Cooper (Lance Henriksen), or, for that matter, John's long-estranged daughter Jacqueline "Jake" Cooper (Jennie Garth). Having broken off relations with her dad due to an unpleasant incident involving her mother, Jake returns to Dry Creek Ranch after an eight-year absence with her young son, Billy (Dylan Wagner), in tow. The reasons have little to do with father-daughter love; John's father has died, and the ranch is now mortgaged to the hilt. Out of a sense of obligation, Jake agrees to work the ranch in hopes of putting it back on its financial feet, all the while keeping her distance from the taciturn John. Other interested parties include cowboy Morgan Murphy (Bradley Cooper), who wants to help Jake despite her father's resistance to Morgan's "newfangled" ranching methods, and John's old pal Amos (M.C. Gainey), who is determined to mend the fences between John and Jake.
