Funny People (2009, R)
judd apatow directs his third feature after knocked up, and40 year old virgin, and once again, some cracking dialogue, and male relationships on show, adam sandler puts in a performance almost on par with his barry egan from p.t andersons masterpiece, punch drunk love, playing a charactor not far from him self, a hollywood big shot, whos made his name in dumb comedies, and getting some bad news that hes dying, thtough this, and his stand up, which he decides to take up again, he meets a struggling stand up, played by seth rogen, here he takes the struggling artist on as a joke writer and assistant, a working friendship is born as the two, try to lead there lives, with troubles on both sides, rogen and sandler are a joy to watch throughout, full of humour and crude jokes, very funny to watch, yet great drama and direction from apatow, also great turns from joana hill, and jason shwartsmann, as rogens house buddys, and also eric bana putting in some great, and amusing work, towards end. the film is long in lenth, but never dull or boreing, and comedy moments sprinkled throughout, sandler showing his dramatic, and comedic side well, im moments the film lifts you up, and some great music adding to emotion. judd apatow, is certainly a director/writer to watch |

The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005, R)
a comedic genius is brought to forefront, after supporting turns in anchorman, and bruce almighty, both roles making those films interesting to watch. here he plays vunrable very well, and a interesting charactor, funny to watch, but also feeling for him as well, its also the film that brought seth logan to my atention, in a humorous supporting turn, |

Knocked Up (2007, R)
seth logan hits big time after exelllent role in 40year old virgin, and with virgin star paul rudd also co starring, a great cast, even the fat kid from superbad turns up, and directed by virgin director, so a great script crackling with vile jokes movie references and general guy humour, and for the girls theres the mushy stuff they like, check it out |

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007, R)
john c riley is superb in this film, in a role suited for will ferrell, but either he pased it up or wasent ofered it, so riley creates great charactor, dewey cocks, as we go through his career from childhood to oldman, but with a very knowing wink to walk the line, and themes and plots in general which are made fun of to great afect, very funny in places, and some great chuckles, this film hasent been well recieved, but being a riley fan expected something special from him, and he doesent disapoint. |

Step Brothers (2008, R)
after the disaterous semi pro, farrell needad a great comedy performance, and with the help of john c riley hes got it, there other film talladega nights wasent that great for me, but here there a winning combination, the two are a joy to watch throughout, some great moments, portraying 2 40 year old guys living with there parents, they must share room as there respective parents get together, comedy gold follows as the pair mark there territory, its interesting to say, wen you see the pair go about there childish ways, you actually forget there 40, and genuin kids, so brilliant, top moments include, the drum kit insident, the bunk bed, and for me my fav, them sleep walking total mayhem and destruction, and so funny to watch, as usuall the 3rd act does get a little sentimental, but the brothers are ther to spice it up a litttle, and check out the scene, durinig credits, A riff on a earlier one, again comedy gold, so,, riley proves again after walk hard he knows comedy, and farell is back |

You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008, PG-13)
better than i expected, adam sandler vehicle, sandler has created a interesting and funny charactor, with his silky smooth ways, as a mossad agent bored with being a trained killer and wants to take up hair dressing, so fakes his death and heads to newyork. the jokes do come fast, and with sandlers creation, some great moments throughout, bringing a mix of sexual and current event jokes, especially the middle eastern conflict, and great support from rob sneider, and john turtorro, bringing something to the table, |

Year One (2009, PG-13)
a lot better than i expected, jack black and michael cera make this watchable,as both actors do what they do quite well, some funny moments throughout, and although most of the religion stuff is no patch on monty python, i think they certainly watched a bit before going on to write this, it is entertaining, and moves along quite nicely |

Pineapple Express (2008, R)
the apatow express rages on, some good stoner comedy moments throughout, in a plot, thats so typically 80s, and it shows, seth rogen is good as the stoner dude, but credit goes to james franco, who ive never rated, brilliant in this, full of wit and observations, a cross between brad pitt in true romance to jef bridges in big lebouski, the two are good to watch, with good support also, some jokes do fall flat, and running time is a stretch, but rogen and falco, help it a lot |
