EdTV (1999,  PG-13)

Stardust (2007,  PG-13)
Stardust
I don't give out five star ratings easily, but this one was a given. One of the best movies - if not THE best movie - I've seen during the year. It's like "Willow goes steampunk" and it works for an audience of all ages. Some movie critics have blamed it for being too predictable and linear, I however do not share this opinion. It's a fairytale; it's supposed to have some certain elements common for this genre.
12
Bolt (2008,  PG)
Bolt
Better than expected. I'm no Travolta fan but he has a very good voice.
13
City of Ember (2008,  PG)
City of Ember
OK adventure I guess.

Bioshock meets Myst meets Harry Potter (in the bad way).
14
Body of Lies (2008,  R)
Body of Lies
Watch The Kingdom instead.
15
Ultraviolet (2006,  PG-13)
Ultraviolet
Did not even finish it.
16
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008,  PG)
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
Not as good as the first one, the story was predictable but that's outweighted by some pretty nice voice acting.
17
Accepted (2006,  PG-13)
Accepted
Very predictible and it can't even be saved by some semi-nudity. Watch Animal House instead. Even The House Bunny was funnier (basically the same movie).
18
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder (2009,  Unrated)
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder
Not as funny as the TV series but still very OK.
19
The Pacifier (2005,  PG)
20
Outlander (2009,  R)
Outlander
James Caviezel, aliens, VIKINGS?! Do want!

Plothole: how come a man that comes from a civilization thousands of years ahead of the Vikings is equally good with iron age weaponry?
21
Role Models (2008,  R)
22
Snakes on a Plane (2006,  R)
Snakes on a Plane
This is without a doubt one of the most ridiculous movies I have ever seen. It was so bad I didn't even bother to see the end.
23
Silverado (1985,  PG-13)
Silverado
Not a fan of Western movies but this is a pretty good adventure movie, although a bit goofy at times.
24
The Little Mermaid (1989,  G)
25
Bedtime Stories (2008,  PG)
26
Sleeping Beauty (1959,  G)
27
Inkheart (2009,  PG)
28
Marley & Me (2008,  PG)
Marley & Me
This movie fails on so many levels, as a comedy, family drama. And who the hell cast Owen Wilson for this role?

More to come...
29
Slumdog Millionaire (2008,  R)
30
Yes Man (2008,  PG-13)
31
Robin Hood (1973,  G)

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006,  PG-13)
35
Saw IV (2007,  R)
36
The Hunger (1983,  R)
The Hunger
Incredibly bad "vampire" movie. Avoid at all cost unless Susan Sarandon involved in softcore topless lesbian action is something that gets you going.
37
The Ice Pirates (1984,  PG)
The Ice Pirates
Anjelica Houston as a sexy space pirate? NO THANKS! :-o~
38
Flight of the Phoenix (2004,  PG-13)

45
Patrik 1,5, (Patrik Age 1.5) (2008,  PG)
Patrik 1,5, (Patrik Age 1.5)
A gay male couple wants to adopt a baby. They think they are getting a baby boy named Patrik age 1,5 - but after some clerical errors end up with a young criminal aged 15.

The cover says "love-comedy", but it is really a social drama with some comical undertones.

It is the first movie I see Gustav Skarsgård in after the Arn movies and the contrast from war hungry king to a cozy gay man is pretty funny.

It is also the first movie I rented after the new IPRED law here in Sweden.
46
The Matrix Reloaded (2003,  R)
47
The Simpsons Movie (2007,  PG-13)
The Simpsons Movie
"Spiderpig, spiderpig..."
48
Se upp för dårarna (2007,  Unrated)
Se upp för dårarna
Swedish title is a word-game; "Se upp för dårarna" [watch out for the lunatics] sounds like "Se upp för dörrarna" [mind the doors] when spoken with an accent. It's a recurring line by the Turkish father, a famous surgeon working as a train driver.

The movie itself is not very good, it follows the standard template for a Swedish drama/comedy.

It might also have one of the worst soundtracks used in a movie.
49
Bio-Dome (1996,  PG-13)
50
Out of Sight (1998,  R)
Out of Sight
Hollywood: "Let's throw George Clooney and J-Lo together in a romantic crime/comedy. It's a foolproof plan to make a perfect movie."

FAIL!

Is Clooney only capable of playing one sort of character? I can't name one part of this movie I liked, including Jennifer Lopez stripping down to her undies.
51
Felon (2008,  R)
52
Constantine (2005,  R)
53
The Terminator (1984,  R)
The Terminator
This is an awesomely bad movie &trade.

Take some average 80's action, add a pretty decent back story, a horrible soundtrack (except the theme-song), super-cheesy special effects (Arnold's rubber head?) and a murderous time-traveling robot with a broad austrian accent and you have a cult-classic.

I remember the first time I saw the future action scenes, and I recall that I wanted more of that. It only took 25 years, two more movies and one TV-series for that to become reality.
54
Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story (2004,  PG-13)
55
Taken (2009,  PG-13)
Taken
"You don't remember me? We spoke on the phone two days ago. I told you I would find you."

Neeson is awesome as a retired spy looking for his abducted daughter.
56
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008,  R)
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
I love starting a movie with the lowest of expectations. Last night it was either this or Bride Wars, I opted for this one as it seemed "slightly less gay".

It turned out to be very funny bitwise, also A LOT more penis-shots than is to be expected from a movie like this. Some girls (and guys) might enjoy this.

The guy from "How I met your mother" shows that he can stand on his own feet. Dirty humur and a lot of sexual situations = a win in my book :-)
57
The Tale of Despereaux (2008,  G)
58
Surf's Up (2007,  PG)
59
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006,  R)
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
In the foulest smelling part of the foulest smelling town in the 1800's a boy is born under the table of his mothers fishmarket shack. Presumed born dead like his five siblings he is quickly kicked into the mud and left to rot. But the boy is tough and with the stench surrounding him he draws his first breath. Bystanders are shocked to see a baby in the dirt and the mother is swiftly hanged.

Young Jean-Paul ends up in an orphanage where the other children immediately finds a dislike to the infant and tries to murder him. He prevails and finds out that he has an acute sense of smell. At age five he has yet not begun to speak; the humen language failing to describe the world of smells which surround him. At age 13 he is sold to a tanner in the outskirts of Paris and a pattern reveals itself as the second person to abandon him meets a quick death. Is the boy cursed?

Life expectancy at the tannery is five years. Jean-Paul endures and is finally trusted to make leather deliveries to the town centre. For the first time in a life surrounded by stench and decay his sensitive nose comes in contact with the scents of fresh fruit, perfume and the best of all; a young woman...

This is an extremely weird and unpredictible movie, and that's what makes it great! It was actually recommended to me by my mother - great to know we share the same obscure taste in movies!

Not for the prude (lots of soft nudity), but definately worth a look if you enjoy stories about anti-heroes and different movies in general, like I do.

Allt flyter (2008,  Unrated)

Morgan Pålsson - Världsreporter (2008,  Unrated)

Deep Blue Sea (1999,  R)
63
Dragonfly (2002,  PG-13)
64
Bridge to Terabithia (2007,  PG)
Bridge to Terabithia
Expected "Narnia" but got so much more. Very promising young actors that I'm sure we'll see more of in the future.

Only reason I watched this was because a good friend recommended it. I'm glad he did.

VERY depressing for a family movie though!
65
Red Dragon (2002,  R)
Red Dragon
Definately better the second time around. Ralph Fiennes does a pretty good psychopath.
66
Twilight (2008,  PG-13)
Twilight
I went against all my instincts on this one, I expected the absolute worst of worst when my wife and I went to see this. Turned out it was pretty OK. It's obviously made for girls, I could only spot two other guys in the audience, and there was serious giggling going on throughout the whole movie.

Moral of the story: I don't hate Twilight, I hate it's fans ;-).

A real review may show up in time for the next full moon.

The Princess Bride (1987,  PG)
68
The Contract (2006,  R)
The Contract
Freeman's character is pretty cool in this one, but too many clichés and John Cusack pulls the rating down to a mere 2,5.
69
High Noon (2009,  Unrated)
70
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) (2009,  PG)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3)
"My name is Buck. Short for Buckminster, long for Bu."

Much better than expected and they actually pulled it off a third time, bravo.

Easily a 4/5 movie, the extra star is for Buck.

71
Rendition (2007,  R)
Rendition
Failed to spark any interest.
72
Fantastic Four (2005,  PG-13)
73
Disney's Aladdin (1992,  G)
74
Intolerable Cruelty (2003,  PG-13)
75
The Devil's Advocate (1997,  R)
The Devil's Advocate

There's this beautiful girl just fucked me forty ways from Sunday... we're done, she's walking to the bathroom, she's trying to walk, she turns... she looks... it's me. Not the Trojan army just fucked her. Little ol' me. She has this look on her face like: "How the hell did that happen?"

--John Milton/Lucifer

Great movie with a lot of actors that I normally don't find very interesting/impressive.

Oh yeah, frontal nudity by Charlize Theron and Connie Nielsen helps out too.

Al Pacino is awesome as Lucifer. Hail Satan!
76
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001,  PG-13)
77
Watchmen (2009,  R)
Watchmen
Not blown away by the comic, but still - can't go wrong with anti-heroes!

Update 090829: now that I've finally seen it I can only say they have followed the comic very closely, and it is as good as it is weird. It does demand a lot of the viewer, which might explain why people find it "boring" and "too long". Might add a more detailed review later.

Will give it a 5/5 to compensate for all the dull-minded people who gave it a low rating because they expected a Marvel-movie.
78
Brokeback Mountain (2005,  R)
Brokeback Mountain
According to Ang Lee the hardest thing about this film was to keep the gay sex at a level where it wouldn't make people creep out and walk out of the cinema.
79
Population 436 (2006,  R)
Population 436
Better than expected. Clearly a low budget project but it doesn't pretend to be anything else. I like movies like this; The Wicker Man, The Village etc.
80
Terminator Salvation (2009,  PG-13)
Terminator Salvation
POTENTIAL SPOILER

Haven't seen it yet but I am already pissed of at the trailer; would have liked to have the fact that "Marcus" is a T-800 kept as a surprise...
81
Che: Part One (The Argentine) (2009,  R)
82
Star Trek (2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
Spock: You are, in fact, the Mr. Scott who postulated the theory of transwarp beaming?
Scotty: That's what I'm talkin' about! How do you think I wound up here? Had a little debate with my instructor on relativistic physics and how it pertains to subspace travel. He seemed to think that the range of transporting something like a... like a grapefruit was limited to about 100 miles. I told him that I could not only beam a grapefruit from one planet to the adjacent planet in the same system - which is easy, by the way - I could do it with a life form. So, I tested it out on Admiral Archer's prized beagle.
Kirk: Wait, I know that dog. What happened to it?
Scotty: I'll tell you when it reappears... Ahem. I don't know, I do feel guilty about that...
83
Speed Racer (2008,  PG)
Speed Racer
Visually stunning but feels more targeted at a younger audience. Made me curious about the japanimation original though.

84
Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark) (1981,  PG)
85
Fool's Gold (Fools Gold) (2008,  PG-13)
Fool's Gold (Fools Gold)
Every once in a while you sit down to watch a romantic comedy with your girl/boyfriend, wife etc. Last night I was given the choice between this movie and some awful Swedish comedy (I HATE Swedish comedies) so I figured I'd go for the "lesser evil".

Turns out this romantic comedy had more emphasis on sex, treasure hunting and action than the average McConaughey/Hudson type of comedy and it even made me crack a few laughs.

Would have been a solid 4/5 stars if it weren't for some of the weaker characters, like the millionaire played by Donald Sutherland and his bimbo daughter.
