Manly yes, but I like 'em too...

Russell Crowe was born to play this part. A three-hour movie that was still too short.

This film of a loner helping a band of people in post-apocalyptic Australia absolutely blew me away. Some of the best editing I've ever seen.

Learned the surprise ending of this before I saw the film, but unlike The Sixth Sense, knowing the twist made me want to see it even more, to see how they got there. And it was well worth the wait.

Holy crap! Great movie. I hate that I waited so long to see it now. I'm not that into war flicks, but watched it on the advice of a trusted friend. Oliver Stone did a fantastic job on giving you the feel of what it's like to be a soldier in a war. Beautiful camera work, characters you care about, a great sense of tension and excellent performances all around. I just wanted to punch Tom Berrenger and Kevin Dillon in the face, they were such convincing A-holes. An Oscar-winning first-class piece of filmmaking.

How cool is this movie!?!?! A comic book come to life. A combination of modern-day CGI technology, and 40's film noir. Mickey Rourke should have gotten an Oscar nom for his role as Marv.

Good movie, but too intense for casual viewing. You need to be in the right mindset for it.

Move over Sopranos. You can't hold a candle to this saga of one mob family.

So much action you'll need a nap by the end. Not much plot, but who cares!?!?

One of Kurosawa's (or anybody else's for that matter) best films. But loses a half star due to its length.

Don't let the revisionist critics fool you. This movie was HUGE when it first came out. Played for months. Anyone who said they didn't like it is lying. A fast, fun and funny movie.

I still give this one high scores even though it seems to be two totally different movies halfway through. A lot of people don't like Bill Murray, but I saw just about everything he was in during the 80's, and this is definitely in the top few. And he's just the half of it. Warren Oats is a hoot and a 1/2 as Murray's nemisis Drill Sargeant Hulka. "Don't call me sir. I WORK for a livin'!"

So vulgar, yet so VERY funny. I should be ashamed of myself for liking this film so much when I complain about how I won't see American Pie because it seems crude and tasteless.

Irreverant, obscene and absolutely hilarious. Leaves movies like American Pie in the dust.
