Marilyn
These are Marilyn Monroe's films in the order that I think are her BEST ROLES to her worst. The ratings in the stars are how I like the film itself. I wasn't sure what the big frou frou about her was until I saw how her films compared with eachother, so here it is!

The Misfits (1961, Unrated)
Ok this cover is super cheesy and makes this movie look like a horrible hick flick, but it's NOT! It is actually one of the most flattering roles for Marilyn Monroe's career! She is drop dead GORGEOUS as a blond bombshell on this silver screen. The scenes and clothes created for her are flattering for her curvacious figure and her lines are intuitive and thoughtful as she plays a troubled woman facing a divorce. She happens to be in RENO where 2 cowboys who want her company decide to help her feel comfortable by showing her the countryside. |

How To Marry A Millionaire (1953, Unrated)
Lauren Bacall stood out to me in this comedic tale of 3 ladies who set out to find 3 very rich men to marry. Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe were beautiful and played the part well, but I still am struggling to see Marilyn in a role where she doesn't come across as so flighty. I prefer Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in that regard! |

There's No Business Like Show Business (1954, Unrated)
A lot of singing and dancing... A lot womens legs and sparkly clothing. Marilyn did do a great some performing in this one... but not a big fan of her acting myself... I think Brittany Spears' art director was inspired for the sparkly naked look in one of her music videos by one of Marilyn Monroes show outfits from this movie. The part in the movie where the parents were shocked that thier son wanted to be a priest instead of a singer and dancer is pretty funny! |

Johnny Legend Presents: Blonde Mania! (2006, Unrated)
haha, there is really not much here about this film AND it seems not many people are interested in it. I am curious though, what this is all about. Is this simply a film photographing women Betty Paige style? Is this hilarious? What does this say about women? Is it womanizing (probably)? How have things changed since then? Was this the most extreme that such films went in this time period? Do they pose with men? Is there actually a plot? What is the story? Purpose? So... i am curious! |
