Really funny in some parts. Don't know if it was intended to be funny whenever I laughed but the Kevin Smith-like, pretentious dialogue doesn't go too well with anything in this film except for maybe the mother-and-son disputes. All-around terrible acting, the actors seemingly reading off of the script with false voice projections and gestures. A controversial topic in between really crappy ones - said to be disturbing because a fat male clown gets raped but it was frivolous.

The Flixster consensus is that this is a very bad film with terrible acting, a bad storyline, and "hack" directing (Because Jennifer Lynch is so not David Lynch). Actually this film is quite interesting. The child perspective intro had me expecting a really bad film (Because that part was badly directed) but I had the patience to sit through the whole thing and with the way the majority of the film was handled I'd say the director has some cool films ahead of her. Boxing Helena takes some time to get going and once you know it's principally an "obsessive stalker"-type film it should never cease to entertain after that. The plot is one I hadn't come across before and it was twisted. The acting isn't composed of professional, PROFESSIONAL actors, but it all suits the film; it's good, in fact. So with this, I think Jennifer might even film more interestingly than her father. I've only liked three Lynch films out of his ten (Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead, The Straight Story) and one of those (Mulholland Drive) wouldn't even be as great without the creation of this film.

Saw about half of this - need to finish it probably.

This was fucking terrifying. Scared me to the point of trembling hands. But the only thing that feels amiss about it is that the ending is tacked on. Also, a large amount of the suspense is mounted altogether in its middle (This is what gave me instantaneous accumulated fear) while the opening acts and even the ominous leading up to are dedicated to getting the audience feel for the trio. It's basically some very unpredictable and unbearably suspenseful survival horror when the gritty disturbance hits, but immediately after that it stops. I would've liked it to push the limits a little more, but this is still pretty good as it is. A dangerous watch but only because it's about dangerous events and directly filming this kind of realism should be praised rather than panned.

The biting fetish (Ever had the urge to bite your lover?) seen as a disease that to the viewer is cannibalism. Like a French Cronenberg movie but with a really slow pace and a seemingly low budget. For most of the duration the story's plot appeared confusing, but once the stories converged it was understandable. The concept wasn't given its due but the rare moments of sexual gore are explicit, kinky and grosstastic.

Well I just finished researching this and I found out it's a six-minute short as well as a Youtube video I'd seen before. It is bizarre. The opening I mean. The facial movements look alien and I remember being traumatized by it. Now it doesn't have the same effect but it is directed in such a way where solitude and the supernatural emerge from the screen. The techno music gives it a music video look despite having a chilling vibe but a Chris Cunningham feature film would be interesting.
