Cabaret (1972,  PG)
Cabaret 3.5 Stars
I loved the song and dance numbers in this movie, but the story was a bit disappointing. Liza Minnelli's character is insane, and she drags Michael York's character into all the madness of her life, and then right when they could live happily ever after, she pushes him away. Their friends' love story is more interesting.

Great Expectations 3.0 Stars
The story is classic and this movie captures the era, but it can be slow and boring at times. The actors are great, but could have done better to make the movie more lively.

A lot of good acting in this movie, but it is a remake of a good old movie which did not need to be remade.
