The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989, R)
Visually stunning and deeply disturbing. It's a powerful, sometimes (blackly) funny, drama about love, hate and restaurants. For fans of David Lynch and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. And one of the best scores of all time by Michael Nyman. Do NOT bother seeing it unless its the widescreen unrated cut. Anything else is crap! |

Catch Me If You Can (2002, PG-13)
After 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Spielberg became hit or miss with me (accent on the miss) so I go into each one now expecting to be either bored (The Terminal) or depressed (A.I.). |
