Crash (2004, R)
I watched this and just wanted to get up and turn off the tv. It sucked bad. It jumps around alot and the majority of it is really boring. Its easy to get confused because it honestly has no plot. And the not-so-subtle theme of racism only made this movie even more crappy and pathetic than it was. The writer has a serious obsession. |

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007, PG-13)
Definitely a let down. I walked in expecting an amazing follow-up to the previous films. Everyone was saying how the fifth was the best of the series and once I heard there was a new director, I was ecstatic. I hated how the previous directors made everything gloomy and depressing. Unfortunatly, the previous director was much better. This movie was terrible. It was really slow and the climax was rather short. It seemed like the entire movie was focused on that bitchy new teacher, Professor Umbridge taking over the school. The lack of plot put into the movie made it seem long but at the same time, rushed. I felt the the person who wrote the script just got lazy and only put in the key scenes. I was really disappointed. |

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006, R)
This another one of those Napoleon-Dynamite-type movies. There are no real jokes, just stupidity. There was so much hype that I was expecting it to be so much better than it was. It was a really dumb, disgusting, awkward movie. It did have funny moments though but they were pretty rare. The Jewish cockroaches scene was hilarious. |

Hatchet (2006, R)
One huge mess of a cliche. It was basically a gory comedy. Everything was pulled from classic horror films. The Victory Crowley legend was an awkward combination of Jason and Freddy. As for Victor himself - he looked like the Muppet from hell. The ending just seemed as if Adam Green decided to stop a scene short and add end credits. I did have a couple of good laughs but Hatchet is definitely not the "re-inventive masterpiece" it was acclaimed to be... |
