Death Note (Desu nōto) (2006,  Unrated)
Death Note (Desu nōto) 4.0 Stars
Absolutely cult classic based on the magna & anime and more smartest on the ultimate serial killer known as Kira who possesses the Death Note - a supernatural notebook with the power to kill. He made the perfect tricks onto the police & FBI who are on the case to find the mysterious ultimate serial killer.
The actor choices were pretty good - Tatsuya Fujiwara was, and still, well-known for his on-stage productions, and Kenichi Matsuyama's L / Ryuuzaki was awesome! His every 'weird and strange' movements were exactly how I imagined the actual L would be.

I never know that live-action Japanese movie is based on the popular anime, but it's really good action and funny of the superhero character. It reminded me to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Gripping story of a businessman is mysteriously kidnapped and imprisioned for 15 years that makes him anger and rage grow for revenge after he was set free. Kinetic and energetic, bit funny and more than insane.

This live-action adaptation of the postapocalyptic Japanese animated series is dull with terrible martial arts sequences what actor Gary Daniels made in his title role.

Excellent non-stop action of the Japanese comic book superhero character than the first one. It entertains amazing battle choreography, visual effects, and great monster makeup.

Jackie Chan was perfectly cast as Ryu Saeda, the lecherous and lethal of this Manga / Anime film. And lots of beautiful HK babes.

Yiu sau dou si (The Wicked City) 2.5 Stars
This Hong Kong sci-fi movie faithfully re-creates some scenes from the similarly titled Japanese animated film and also draws inspiration from Alien Nation and Blade Runner. The special effects and make-ups look average.

The Guyver (1991,  PG-13)
The Guyver 3.5 Stars
Outrageous special effects and tongue-in-cheek humour make this action-adventure film worthy of continuation based on a Japanese comic book superhero. The suit style looks fantastic as the following comic book.

I see this Japanese samurai movie that inspired Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. This is the best and most savage samurai of a femme fatale I ever saw.
