Popeye (1980,  PG)
Popeye
This adaptation of the famous comic strip by director Robert Altman is the cinematic equivalent of the old "good news" routine. The good news is that Robin Williams makes a terrific Popeye, and Shelley Duvall was born to play Olive Oyl. This is so wonderfully weird to look at and so much fun at times.
23
Flash Gordon (1980,  PG)
Flash Gordon
Bad special effects and a hacked-about script should have made this mixture of parody and homage a disaster, but in fact its tremendous fun to watch.
24
The Legend of the Lone Ranger (1981,  PG)
25
Annie (1982,  G)
Annie
Not a bad adventure of the long-running comic strip heroine in this musical film.
26
Ginger Meggs (1982,  Unrated)

Footrot Flats: The Dog's Tale (1987,  Unrated)
Footrot Flats: The Dog's Tale
This New Zealand animated movie based on the comic strip is my all-the-time favourite ones when I was a kid from reading in the newspaper's comic strips. This is much funny and exciting adventures of The Dog (border collie) and his friends.
28
Brenda Starr (1992,  PG)
29
Dick Tracy (1990,  PG)
Dick Tracy
The only one of the recent comic strip adaptations that actually looks like a comic, with all their garish colours and bold designs. Impressive.
30
Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1992,  G)
31
Dennis the Menace (1993,  PG)
32
The Phantom (1996,  PG)
The Phantom
Billy Zane did a decent job of looking like a believable square-jawed hero, but there was just no way to dress someone in purple spandex without them looking like a ribena mascot.
33
Dennis the Menace Strikes Again (1997,  G)
34
Prince Valiant (Prinz Eisenherz) (1997,  PG-13)
35
Annie (1999,  Unrated)
36
My Name Is Modesty (2004,  R)
37
The Lone Ranger (2003,  Unrated)
38
Garfield - The Movie (2004,  PG)
Garfield - The Movie
The computer-generated of fatty lasagne-loving cat looks fine and just funny. This movie is a fine entertaining, and using Bill Murray's voice was truly inspired.
39
The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green (2006,  R)
40
Over the Hedge (2006,  PG)
Over the Hedge
Marvellous 3D animated of hungry critters go over the hedge to take a bit out of town. I like two critters characters are RJ and Hammy because they are more funniest and furriest on their adventures.
41
Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006,  PG)
Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties
This sequel of comic strip's favourite femmine fat cat is more laughs than the original movie.
42
A Dennis the Menace Christmas (2007,  G)
43
Marmaduke (2010,  Unrated)
