Lorenzo's Oil (1992,  PG-13)
Lorenzo's Oil 3.0 Stars
A good movie, and heartbreaking at times, but I was offended by one little part of the film; specifically, the part where Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon are talking about inviting an African friend to come and stay with them in America, and Nolte says, "But he's black, and a Muslim. We can't make him come to this racist country and be treated like a second-class citizen."

Um...Nick? Hello? In case you haven't noticed, we do have black people living in this country. This movie takes place in the mid-1980s, for goodness sake. Your friend is hardly likely to be lynched for sitting at the front of a bus. Sheesh.

This film goes down in history as the only movie (so far) to make me cry outright.
