American Beauty (1999,  R)
American Beauty
What isn't perfect about this movie? The script? The cast? The criticisim? The humour? The music? The cinematography? Mena Suvari's tits? Everything is just amazing. I specially love Spacey's character, but also all the rest (except for Annette Benning's...); they're all so vulnerable. Chris Cooper is breathtaking in the ending. One of the very few movies I consider perfect. The plastic bag thing is not that great though, that's true.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
Maybe too similar to The Nightmare, and definitely has worse songs, but it's till wonderful. The best: the contrast between the dark, gloomy world of the living and the colourful land of the dead.

El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
One of the few recent movies that don't make me feel ashamed of being Spanish... even if the writer and director is Mexican.

No Country for Old Men
A great but very complex film. It's easy to be disappointed at the end but that part is the real essence of it. Really hard to understand completely, which can make it less perfect depending on how much you like thinking.

Stardust
Probably the first great adventure-fantasy film since the eighties. I love Neil Gaiman, Matthew Vaughn, Robert de Niro and The Princess Bride... what else can I say?
56
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007,  R)
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Probably Burton's best work -as The Nightmare doesn't count as his but Henry Selick's. Perfect colour, perfect cast, perfect effects, not perfect but very good music. Hypnotic. Wonderful if you are a fan of Burton's dark films, as this sums up Sleepy Hollow and The Corpse Bride for instance, and adds grandguignolesque elements that make it darker and that I love.
57
Tape (2001,  R)
58
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2006,  R)
59
Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley (Torrente, the Stupid Arm of the Law) (1998,  Unrated)

Trainspotting (1996,  R)
61
Unforgiven (1992,  R)
62
V for Vendetta (2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
It's a movie, it's not a graphic novel, so I accept it can't be as rich as Moore's masterpiece. I think it's a great movie. The only thing I dislike is the simplification of Adam Sutler: here's there's no Anarchy Vs. Fascism. And well, the fights, but they had to sell the movie to the fans of the Wachowskis somehow.
