Interesting movie. Loved the scenery. Sam Elliott is wonderful.

Strange Brew
Strange Brew is a strange movie, but I liked it.
8
The Greatest Show on Earth (1952,  Unrated)
The Greatest Show on Earth
The Greatest Show on Earth was released in 1952 and the Oscar winner for best picture of that year. It was directed by the great Cecil B. DeMille. It tells the story of the lives of trapeze artists, a clown, and an elephant trainer while against a background of circus spectacle. I particularly liked the James Stewart's character's story line. The train wreck near the ending is unforgettable.
9
The Benchwarmers (2006,  PG-13)
The Benchwarmers
Funny.
10
Ed Wood (1994,  R)
Ed Wood
I really liked this movie. I thought Martin Landau totally deserved the Oscar for his performance as Bela Lugosi.
11
Legally Blonde (2001,  PG-13)
Legally Blonde
It was ok, not really my type of movie.
12
Far North (1988,  PG-13)

It had an interesting story line, great cast, some funny moments but felt the ending was a let down.
13
The Brady Bunch Movie (1995,  PG-13)
The Brady Bunch Movie
Hilarious!
14
Scary Movie 4 (2006,  PG-13)
Scary Movie 4
Sometimes we need to sit down and watch a movie that's so stupid - it's funny. Just a brainless movie with some good laughs.
15
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness (1958,  Unrated)
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness
This An epic and extraordinary true story--stars Ingrid Bergman who is absolutely mesmerizing. A bit of trivia from this movie, is that this was Robert Donat's last film.
16
Jennifer 8 (Jennifer Eight) (1992,  R)
Jennifer 8 (Jennifer Eight)
Full of suspence, interesting story line, however the ending ruined it for me.
17
Dominick and Eugene (1988,  PG-13)
Dominick and Eugene
Dominick and Eugene features wonderful performances by Ray Liotta and Tom Hulce. Hulce and Liotta star as brothers - one is mentally challenged and one is a medical intern. I felt that Jamie Lee Curtis (who played another intern and Loitta's love interest) seemed a little out of place in this movie. However, it was a very good movie and I highly recommend it.
18
Girl, Interrupted (1999,  R)
Girl, Interrupted
Girl, Interrupted stars Winona Ryder as Susanna, a young woman who is placed in a mental hospital in the 1960's after a suicide attempt. This film is about the people she meets while there including a well meaning nurse played by Whoopi Goldberg, a wild patient played by Angelina Jolie (who won an Oscar for this performance) and Brittany Murphy who will only eat chicken and stores the left overs under her bed. Jolie definitely deserved the Oscar but Ryder should have gotten one too. This in my opinion was Winona Ryder's best performance ever!
19
In the Company of Men (1997,  R)
In the Company of Men
A very disturbing movie about two bored businessmen who plan to play an awful trick on a deaf woman. Slow moving but had great performances from the three main actors.
20
Sid & Nancy (1986,  R)
Sid & Nancy
Gary Oldman is so convincing as Sid Vicious. I think Courtney Love should have played Nancy. I have read Johnny Rotten's autobiography, and according to his book this movie is more fiction than the truth. This movie features the stupidest ending I've ever seen in a movie.
21
My Best Girl (1927,  Unrated)
My Best Girl
My Best Girl is from 1927 and was Mary Pickford's last silent movie. Mary starred opposite her third husband Buddy Rogers. It was cute, and had some very funny scenes. I loved it.
22

A classic Hitchcock romantic mystery from 1941 starring Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine. Fontaine won an Oscar for her performance in this movie.
23

Possessed
Possessed features a good story and wonderful acting, especially by Joan Crawford. Val Heflin and Raymond Massey also star.
24
Jamaica Inn (1939,  Unrated)
Jamaica Inn
Jamaica Inn is yet another Hitchcock materpiece. It stars then 19 year old Maureen O'Hara and Charles Laughton. Good story, entertaining
25
Banshee (2006,  Unrated)
Banshee
I absolutely loved this movie. I had never heard of this Canadian movie before, and I almost quit watching it at the beginning. But it did hold my attention, and thought it had a great story line. Taryn Manning's character was one not to be messed with. I highly recommend this movie.
26
True Grit (1969,  G)
True Grit
The Duke's only Oscar winning performance. His co-stars are Kim Darby and Glen Campbell and they are excellent, the scenery is breath taking, and it has a fantastic story line. True Grit is excellent.
27
Cape Fear (1962,  Unrated)
Cape Fear
The original Cape fear which stars Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. Great thriller.
28
Highway to Hell (1992,  R)
Highway to Hell
Strange movie starring Chad Lowe who goes through purgatory and hell to rescue his kidnapped fiancee played by Kristy Swanson. It's always a pleasure to see Richard Farnsworth who has a small but important role in this movie.
29
Don't Come Knocking (2006,  R)
Don't Come Knocking
Don't Come Knocking stars Sam Shepard about a cowboy movie star who has seen better days. One day, he leaves a movie set to go back to his home town to meet a son he recently discovered he has. Slow moving, but interesting.
30
The Scalphunters (1968,  Unrated)
The Scalphunters
The Scalphunters is a good western with some great comedic moments. Burt Lancaster and Ossie Davis are fantastic and I thought Shelley Winters' character is hilarious. I recomend this movie.

Sabotage
Excellent movie. One of Hitchcock's best.
32

Cluadette Colbert plays an American woman in a Japanese concentration camp in the East Indies during the second world war. Fine performance by Colbert.

United 93 is well done. The last 15 minutes are pretty intense.

Casualties of War
Very good movie. Very hard-hitting. Excellent performance especially by Michael J. Fox.
40
Rio Lobo (1971,  G)
Rio Lobo
Great western. Jack Elam is a wonderful side kick and adds great comic relief. Can't go wrong with a movie with the Duke in it.
41
The Goonies (1985,  PG)
The Goonies
I love this movie. I have seen it so many times, I have lost count. The DVD has a wonderful commentary by all who played the The Goonies and director Richard Donner - highly recommended.
42
Trekkies (1997,  PG)
Trekkies
Fantastic documentary about fans of Star Trek. Also wonderful interviews with cast members. Very funny at times. Recommended.
43
The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006,  R)
The Butterfly Effect 2
Not near as good as the original Butterfly Effect. Very flawed and I thought the acting wasn't that good.
44
The Cowboys (1972,  PG)
The Cowboys
The Cowboys stars the Duke who plays a rancher who hires 11 boys to work on a cattle drive. I loved Roscoe Lee Browne's character - who plays the cook and him and John Wayne have wonderful scenes together. Bruce Dern plays the head of a group of rustlers that want to steal the herd. Excellent movie.
45
Cliffhanger (1993,  R)
Cliffhanger
I wish I could have seen this on the big screen when Cliffhanger first came out. The scenery is breathtaking.
46
Juggernaut (1974,  PG)
Juggernaut
I did find Juggrtnaut slow paced, and not to have a lot of character development. However, its always a pleasure to see Richard Harris who plays a bomb expert who is brought on board to save an ocean liner.
47
Harvey (1951,  Unrated)
Harvey
James Stewart was excellent in this film. I just recently saw Harvey again - it had been years since I last saw it. Great supporting cast.
48
St. Elmo's Fire (1985,  PG-13)
St. Elmo's Fire
One of my least favorite movies from the 1980s. Unrealistic.
49
Big Jake (1971,  PG-13)
Big Jake
Big Jake stars the Duke and Richard Boone. The Duke's grandson is kidnapped and with the help of his two sons, his Indian friend and his trusted dog, they set out to get the child back.
50
Shopgirl (2005,  R)
Shopgirl
I loved this movie. I thought Steve Martin really pulled it off as a romantic leading man. Bravo!
51
Flashdance (1983,  R)
Flashdance
Haven't seen this movie in a long time. I remembered really liking it. Now that I have seen it again recently, I have to ask myself, what was I thinking? Yes, it's got great music, and the dancing is remarkable, but the dialogue is stupid, and the story line - what story line, there is no story line. Yuk!
52
Rest Stop (2006,  R)
Rest Stop
Terrible movie. It's about a young woman stranded at a deserted rest stop and is threatened by a psychopath. The main character is stupid, the story line is confusing and the acting is terrible. Avoid this movie at all costs. One footnote: apparently there's a sequel coming out......good grief!
53
November (2004,  R)
November
This is a movie that I think tries too hard. It's about a woman whose boyfriend is killed in a convenient store robbery. Or was he? This movie did keep my interest, and I did like Courteney Cox-Arquette's acting.
54
The Night Listener (2006,  R)
The Night Listener
I liked this movie. I thought that the cast was excellent and the story line interesting. Did the boy really exist? This movie keeps you guessing...
55
Happy, Texas (1999,  PG-13)
Happy, Texas
Predictable comedy about escaped prisoners that work undercover at a junior beauty pageant in a small Texas town. Steve Zahn, as usual is a scene stealer - he is so funny. Cute movie.
56
She Creature (2001,  R)
She Creature
She Creatue wasn't too bad of a movie. It takes place in the early 1900's about a couple of people who work at a circus and find a real mermaid. They steal the mermaid and sail off to America to make a fortune.
57
How to Eat Fried Worms (2006,  PG)
How to Eat Fried Worms
I liked "How to Eat Fried Worms". It's a light heart comedy, but not for the weak stomached. Ha ha.
58
Blow (2001,  R)
Blow
I didn't think I would like 'Blow' and I was wrong, I really enjoyed it. It's not my kind of movie, but I did find the acting was great and the story line kept me interested. Good movie.
59
Desperately Seeking Susan (1985,  PG-13)
Desperately Seeking Susan
A cute movie, obviously successful because it was Madonna's first movie. I remember when it first came out, and it got a lot of publicity because of Madonna. I am also a fan of Rosanna Arquette and Aidan Quinn, which is a major plus for me.
60
Where the Lilies Bloom (1974,  G)
Where the Lilies Bloom
"Where the Lilies Bloom" was made in 1974. It's about four Appalachian children who keep their father's death a secret so that they are not sent away to institutions. A bit of trivia - the part of the children's father is played by Rance Howard who is the real life father of Clint and Ron Howard. Harry Dean Stanton also gives an excellent performance as the owner of the land the children are living on who also has intentions of marrying the eldest daughter. Excellent movie.
61
Miami Blues (1990,  R)
Miami Blues
Miami Blues stars Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Jason Leigh and released in 1990. Baldwin plays a sociopath just out from prison who moves to Miami and meets up with a college student who is working as a prostitute to make money for school. As Jason Leigh falls for Baldwin she soon discovers he is a harden criminal with a cop (played by Fred Ward) on his trail. Not a bad movie, not the greatest, but it is entertaining and not a bad storyline. Watch for a memorable cameo by the late Paul Gleason.
62
A Home of Our Own (1993,  PG)
A Home of Our Own
A Home of Our Own stars Kathy Bates and Edward Furlong who give excellent performances. Bates is a single mother with six children who leave everything behind in Los Angeles, pack of the car, and head to an unknown destination. When she spots a run down farm house, she decides this will be their home. With the help of her kids and a neighbour, they slowly fix the house up and call it home. I highly recommend this movie.
63
The Simpsons Movie (2007,  PG-13)
The Simpsons Movie
The Simpsons Movie has been a long time a-coming, and I have to say, it was worth the wait. I couldn't get over the clarity of the animation. It didn't re-hash old story lines or jokes, it was original - in my opinion. This is purely for all fans of the Simpsons.
64
The People Vs. Larry Flynt (1997,  R)
The People Vs. Larry Flynt
Edward Norton was the only good thing about this movie. I didn't like it.
65
Running With Scissors (2006,  R)
Running With Scissors
I liked this movie. I haven't read the book, so I cannot compare the book to the movie. I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was so funny, I wish she was in it more.
66
School for Scoundrels (2006,  PG-13)
School for Scoundrels
I liked this movie, and found it very funny. I always enjoy Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder and thought they were a great combo.
67
Snakes on a Plane (2006,  R)
Snakes on a Plane
Snakes on a Plane has had mixed reviews. By looking at some other reviews, it seems either people loved it or they hated it. I have been looking forward to seeing Snakes on a Plane for awhile, and finally got to sit down and watch it. It was exactly what I expected - it was far fetched, predictable and I really enjoyed it! Samuel L. Jackson, as always is good, and its always a pleasure to see Bobby Carnavale (although I wished he had a bigger part). I liked Snakes on a Plane, it was a fun movie.
68
Weird Science (1985,  PG-13)
Weird Science
I consider Weird Science my least favorite of John Hughs movies. I agree with many reviews I have read, the best thing about this movie is Bill Paxton who stole each scene he was in.
69
The Quiet (2006,  R)
The Quiet
Elisha Cuthbert stars as a popular cheerleader who attends high school with Dot, a deaf-mute who is the same age and has come to live with Cuthbert's family. When Dot discovers a dark secret involving Curthbert and her father, it sets a series of events into motion. I liked this movie, but its not for everyone. Watch for the very talented Shawn Ashmore who plays the high school jock.
70
The Playboys (1992,  PG-13)
The Playboys
The Playboys stars Albert Finney, Robin Wright Penn, and Aidan Quinn. Set in a small Irish town, in the 1950's, the story involves a young un-married mother, finds love when a band of travelling actors come to town. Albert Finney plays a bad cop who is in love with Wright Penn's character and stirs up trouble when she falls in love with one of the actors (played by Quinn). Not a bad movie, held my attention, but felt unsatisfied with the ending.
71
Some Girls (Sisters) (1988,  R)
Some Girls (Sisters)
Some Girls was released in 1988 starring Patrick Dempsey and Jennifer Connelly. Dempsey plays a love sick American college student who goes to Montreal to visit his Canadian girlfriend and her family. Though this movie kept my interest, I didn't think it was a great movie, but an ok one. What I did like, was the touching scenes with Dempsey and "Granny".
72
John Tucker Must Die (2006,  PG-13)
John Tucker Must Die
I liked John Tucker Must Die. It stars Jesse Metcalfe and Brittany Snow who I thought were very funny in their roles. It's about three girls who hook up with Snow's character to seek revenge on their former boyfriend who cheated on them. What I didn't like about the movie was its lame ending. Wish they could have made the ending better and more believable, but other than that, I thought it was a funny movie which I really enjoyed.
73
Ray (2004,  PG-13)
Ray
Jamie Foxx was amazing as Ray Charles. He was most deserving of his Oscar win.
74
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006,  PG-13)
X-Men: The Last Stand
I still like the first X-Men movie the best but this third one is still entertaining.
75
Stranger Than Fiction (2006,  PG-13)
Stranger Than Fiction
Stranger Than Fiction (2006) has a great cast - Will Ferrell, Emma Thompson, Queen Latifah, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Dustin Hoffman. Ferrell plays an IRS auditor whose life is dull and quite routine. Then one Wednesday morning, he starts hearing Emma Thompson's voice that no one else can hear, who is narrating his life, his personal thoughts and his feelings. This changes his life as it makes him realize his life is without much meaning -especially when Thompson predicts his untimely death. Very good movie.
76
The Lake House (2006,  PG)
The Lake House
I loved The Lake House. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock team up again (their first movie together was Speed), in movie about a couple who are separated by time. Bullock plays a lonely doctor who once lived in the same lakeside home that Reeves once occupied. They begin to write letters to one another, but soon realized that they are actually living two years apart. This movie reminded me a bit of Somewhere in Time which starred Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve. Both are excellent movies. I highly recommend The Lake House especially to fans of Bullock and Reeves and who loved Somewhere in Time.
77
Children of Men (2006,  R)
Children of Men
Children of Men stars Clive Owen, Julianne Moore and Michael Caine. Its a futuristic film about a group of people who are protecting a pregnant woman who will give birth to the first child born in 27 years. I found it was fast-paced, had lots of action and had a very good story line. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
78
Dawn of the Dead (2004,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
Dawn of the Dead (2004) stars Jake Weber (from the tv show 'Medium'), Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames. I haven't seen the original 1978 version so I can't compare them although I have heard they are very different. This version of Dawn of the Dead was better than I expected. If you like movies about zombies, then you will like this one.
79
Hollywoodland (2006,  R)
Hollywoodland
Hollywoodland stars Adrien Brody as a detective investigating the death of actor George Reeves (who played Superman in the 1950's). Reeves' character is played by Ben Affleck. Diane Lane plays Reeve's married girlfriend. This movie is way too long and jumps around too much. I was looking forward to seeing this movie was very disappointed.
80
Snow Cake (2006,  Unrated)
Snow Cake
Snow Cake stars Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver and Carrie-Anne Moss. Rickman plays Alex, a sad and lonely man who is driving through Northern Ontario and picks up a young hitch-hiker who is on her way to Wawa. Tragedy strikes as there is an accident which leaves the young woman dead. Rickman's character feels guilt, although the accident wasn't his fault, and goes to see her autistic mother played by Weaver. Alex decides to stay with her and help with the funeral and begins a friendship with Weaver and a relationship with her neighbour played by Moss. This is an excellent movie and highly recommend it.
81
Because of Winn-Dixie (2005,  PG)
Because of Winn-Dixie
Because of Winn-Dixie is a cute movie. It's about a lonely girl in a new town who adopts a dog (Winn-Dixie) who has a knack for making friends easily. Because of Winn-Dixie, she meets several equally lonely people and they become her friends. This movie has a great cast including Annasophia Robb, Jeff Daniels (who plays the young girl's preacher father), Cicely Tyson, Dave Matthews and Eva Marie Saint.
82
Straightheads (Closure) (2007,  R)
Straightheads (Closure)
Straightheads stars Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyers. This movie is not for the weak hearted. This violent thriller stars Anderson, as a successful business woman who meets up with a younger man she has hired to set up a security system in her home. She asks him to go with her to a party in the country and its when they drive home that disaster happens. They hit a deer, and when they stop to remove it off the road, three hunters come along, beat Dryer's character and gang rape Anderson's character. The rest of the movie is about revenge. In North America, this movie is known as ''Closure". Gillian Anderson proves that she is a great actress and look forward to seeing her in more movies.
