Transformers (2007, PG-13)
Transformers is easily Bay's best achievement, yet this is still lacking and begs the question whether it does the original series justice. The first point o make is the CGI, effects and visuals which were very impressive and formualted and new movie experience, I found this quite a pioneering film in that area. The script was rather funny, I laughed in several areas of the film, and the chemistry with Shia LaBeouf and other charcters was good. On the downside, this film was still a bit of a farce as something as alien and awesome as a transforer was not taken seriously by the officals and characters. John Turturro's Agent was very annoying and should have been replaced by something more formal, after all this is a fun fiilm. it would have been good to see more Transformer time, betweeen the different parties, especially Decpticon, as Starscream and Megatron did not at all convey the same rivarly that was was seen in the series. Overall entertaining movie, which in places I was enjoying whilst others cringing. |
