Dazed and Confused (1993, R)
This is for the people that like to party. A true comedy on how a teen's life was back in the 70's. A nostalgic era filled with classic rock from Alice cooper to War with Lowrider, and much more. School is out for the summer and these guys are getting ready to party. ;) Great movie and fun to watch. |

Boyz n the Hood (1991, R)
One of John Singleton's best, with strong casting of talented actors like Lawrence Fishbourne, Angela Bassett and Cuba Gooding, Jr. that bring out the characters in this gang related movie, and how one tries to survive the peer pressure of hatred when a tragic event occurs. The choice of choosing what is right or wrong, is something that young Tre played magnificently by Cuba Gooding, Jr. has to face. Great movie! |

Poetic Justice (1993, R)
Not one of Singleton's best, but the story was ok. The actors/singers placed to play the lead characters were a bit annoying, but Regina King was the best whom always get's into her role, and stole the show from the two main characters. Mayo Angelou's poems are great, which is quoted by Janet Jackson in this ok movie. I liked it and it was amusing, but they just did not bring out the roles as they should have. |

Higher Learning (1994, R)
Another great epic film by John Singleton, and again he casts Lawrence Fishbourne who's an amazing Professor in this college film based on three new freshmans' entering the college life on a universtity campus. They endear racism, prejudism, rape, sexual confusion, and peer pressure on trying to survive the college life. A good strong movie with an excellent cast. |

Overboard (1987, PG)
I thought I'd never stop laughing at this movie!!! Goldie Hawn is so hilarious as the stuck up Johanna Staton, and Kurt Russell is great as Dean Prophet, the one that puts her in her place. Hilarious with funny scenes and my favorite is watching her do the cleaning scenes! I loved it and glad to say I own this crazy movie. ;) |

Titanic (1997, PG-13)
I thought this was a great movie. Loved the story that went with the tragic tale of the most grandest ship sinking. James Cameron did an outstanding job on getting all the details of the history of the Titanic, down to the interior. The CGI effects was great and made the film even better. Great movie! |

Hairspray (1988, PG)
For those of you that know all John Waters movies, this is one of his unique classics. Hairspray takes you back in the 60's where there were hair hoppers, Segregation and dancing. The movie potrays a portly Tracy Turnblad played wonderfully by Ricki Lake, and I loved that Divine played her mom!! Debbie Harry and Sonny Bono make great parents of spoiled rich girl "Amber" that add to the crazy characters, as well as John Waters himself playing a crazy psychiatrist. Great music from the 60's and some weird dance moves that I never saw, potrayed in this movie like the "Mashed Potato" and "Gravy" which just seems hilarious as ever. But all in all, it's a crazy comedy with great music, and you will enjoy this classic movie. |
