Based on a true story. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters who shape his life
Two years he walks the earth. No phone, no pool, no pets, no cigarettes. Ultimate freedom. An extremist. An aesthetic voyager whose home is the road. So now, after two rambling years comes the final and greatest adventure. The climactic battle to kill the false being within and victoriously conclude the spiritual revolution. No longer to be poisoned by civilization, he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild. -Alexander Supertramp, May 1992.
Cover of paperback, depicting the bus in which McCandless stayed before his death.

PERFECT.
Definitely one of my favourite movie of all times . I admire him so much for his courage that he had to do this , to accomplish his dream . A lot of people these days choose to stick to the society , to have the perfect career , perfect family , perfect life even though life isnt about that . Nowadays the money has invaded our mind and we started to forget the beauty of the life . Anyways , its a touching movie based on a true story of a man who made his dream become reality . Its a must see , maybe it will change your thinking.
When Viola asks Tanya Murphy what her favorite movies are, among the movies she names is Legally Blonde (2001). Robert Luketic, who directed this film, also directed Legally Blonde (2001).
A dramatic-comedy, inspired by the lives of two people with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism, whose emotional dysfunctions threaten to sabotage their budding romance. Donald is a good-natured but hapless taxi driver with a love of birds and a superhuman knack for numbers. Like many people with AS, he likes patterns and routines. But when the beautiful but complicated Isabel joins the autism support group he leads, his life - and his heart - are turned upside down.
Donald Morton: Excuse me. Do you know when the next bus, uh 217, runs?
Man at bus stop: Sorry.
Donald Morton: I'm chasing someone.
Man at bus stop: By bus?
Donald Morton: Well, it's important.
Man at bus stop: Important enough to take the bus?
Donald Morton: Yeah. My girlfriend left me because I wanted to get married and she wanted to stay just friends.
Man at bus stop: Ah. The slower this chase, the better.
Donald Morton: Yeah.
My Review Well , i have to thank my mom for buying me this dvd otherwise i would never see it . I absolutely loved this <3. This movie is definitely my 2nd favorite movie [ after Just like heaven] in the category of RomCom movies . Josh Hartnett gave an amazing perfomance , even my mom was impressed and she's not easily moved by these things . Radha Mitchell played her part pretty good as well . If you like this kind of movies i strongly recommend to see it . It's beautiful .

In the 1970s, a group of apathetic teen surfers from a rough neighbourhood known as "Dogtown" in Venice, California, created a cultural revolution by transforming skateboarding from a recreational activity into an extreme sport.
When a shipment of urethane wheels arrives at Venice's Zephyr Surf/Skate Shop (traded by Mitch Hedberg's character to the owner of the shop for marijuana) the owner, Skip Engblom, played by Heath Ledger, puts together a team of local layabout skaters to compete.
Known as the Zephyr Skateboard Team, the boys transferred their surf skills to drain pipes and empty swimming pools with stunning results. Their acrobatic maneuvers inspired generations of teens to join the skateboarding frenzy and catapulted them to fame and fortune.
The movie is based on the real rise of skateboarding started by Stacy Peralta, Tony Alva and Jay Adams. It follows their friendship, the rise and fall of the Zephyr skateboarding team and the tragic loss of one of their friends, Sid, to brain cancer. It follows their rise to fame and the struggle to stay on top as they begin to turn on each other.
The movie has a soundtrack (Lords of Dogtown: Music From the Motion Picture) featuring songs by Black sabbath, David Bowie, T-Rex, Jimi Hendrix, and Iggy Pop, among others, as well as The Clash's "Death or Glory" being covered by Social Distortion.
Stacy: Skip called me bro!
Kathy: Skip called you bro?
Stacy: Yeah, he said bro!
Kathy: No, he didn't.
Stacy: Yes, he did. He said you look hungry, bro. Kathy: He said you look hungry, bro?
Stacy: Yes, totally!
Kathy: Skip Engbloom doesn't call anybody bro. [laughs]

Well , its definitely one of my fav movies ever . I loved it . It is based on the true story of the legendary Z-boys . All the actros gave an amazing performance especially Emile Hirsch . He's always doing a great job . I think it is the best skateboarding movie EVER. You should REALLY see this and wait till the end of the credits so you can see the real guys this story is based on and also pay attention at the cameo performances cos some of the guys are the z-boys. At least watch the movie for the brilliant performance that Heathcliff Ledger gave .

The psychological thriller THE I INSIDE features the uncertainty and anxiety of time-traveling and amnesia films such as THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT and MEMENTO. Ryan Phillippe stars as Simon, who awakens in a hospital with no memory of the last two years. When he discovers that his brother Peter (Robert Sean Leonard) is dead and that he is married to Anna (Piper Perabo), a woman he has no recollection of, he sets out to discover what has happened to him and why he cannot remember it. Both helping and frustrating his investigation is the fact that he seems to be shifting back and forth between the present and the time before his memory loss. Is he really traveling through time, or is his amnesia just the sign of a greater madness? THE I INSIDE is a time hopping film that maintains its ambiguity until the very end.

According to Michael Mann, Vincent is one that is able to get in and out of anywhere without anyone recognizing him or remembering him. To prepare for the movie, Tom Cruise had to make FedEx deliveries in a crowded LA market without anyone recognizing him as Tom Cruise.
The actors playing the Green Street Hooligans had to work out with the production's trainer for four or five hours every day. The trainer, Pat E. Johnson, had most of the actors throwing up, he was working them so hard. A typical day would involve basic strength and fitness training for about two hours, followed by choreographing of the fight sequences. Rehearsals would take place in the afternoon, and then in the evening they would all go out drinking (which is probably why most of them were throwing up the next day). Elijah Wood was absented from most of this rigorous schedule to emphasize his outsider status.
The Champions League Final Game, played against Arsenal, is actually the first knockout round, when Arsenal won 0-1, Thierry Henry scores the goal we saw in the movie.
Just before the car is attacked, Miriam peels an orange in the back seat. Just before the refugee camp falls into chaos, Kee and Marichka share orange slices over the baby. In films, oranges often represent impending danger or tragedy. This motif is also prominently featured in The Godfather.

Lakeview Terrace is the name of the area that Rodney King was beaten by L.A. police in 1991. His name and famous line, "Can't we all just get along?" is also referenced in the movie.

Very little of the movie was actually shot on green screen. Instead, director John Moore opted to shoot in Toronto during the night, in order to add extra reality to his actors' reactions.
When Oz (Matthew Perry) wakes up in bed with Jimmy (Bruce Willis), Willis was naked under the blanket. Perry had no idea why he was naked... and reportedly was too afraid to ask.
The scene where Lulu tells Shane that she thinks he's cute and Shane's embarrassed response was based on a real life incident on set. Morgan York (the actress who plays Lulu), upon meeting Vin Diesel, actually said that to him and he awkwardly responded with a "thank you". The director thought it was so funny that he put it in the film.
References to the original cartoon series include: - Secret identity as "humble and lovable Shoeshine Boy" - love interest "Sweet Polly Purebread" - speaking in rhyme - causing significant property damage during rescues - pill as source of super powers - changing into costume in exploding phone booth - explaining to crowd that he is "not plane, nor bird, nor even frog, just little old me: Underdog".
Storyboarded but not animated was a scene in Las Vegas, where Bolt (who was just passing through the city with Mittens and Rhino, and foraging for food) is confronted in a dark alley by two Doberman Pinschers, who proceed to brutally bum-rush him, and rip off his collar (complete with ironic quick cuts of clips from the "Bolt" TV show playing on a big TV display, which Rhino was watching, in the city nearby). Left for dead by the two dogs, Bolt, disillusioned, realizes that his "super powers" are not real (which was further emphasized when Bolt then sees the program for himself). The producers decided to nix this scene, as they not only felt that it was way too dark, but it didn't fit into the story structurally.
In the first scene in CONTROL's board room, Max plays the intercepted audio of a conversation about decaf coffee and muffins, and simultaneously translates it to English. The original conversation is in Persian.

In the last scene between Miranda and Andy, Andy asks Miranda if the lifestyle that Miranda led wasn't what she wanted. Miranda responds, "Everyone wants this. Everyone wants to be us." The original line was "Everyone wants to be me." However, Meryl Streep did not like this line, finding it too self involved and dramatic. At the table reading of the script, Meryl organically changed the line to "Everyone wants to be us." The line change stuck and was used in the film.
When the urn breaks, Mr. Jinks the cat runs and urinates on Jack's mother's ashes. In The Untouchables (1987), Al Capone, played by Robert De Niro, says he wanted Eliot Ness dead so he could go to his house in the middle of the night and 'piss on his ashes'.
Much of the movie's soundtrack includes music from the band Switchfoot, who at the time were really only recognized in their native San Diego, and in Contemporary Christian music circles. Mandy Moore was a huge fan of the band, and had a great deal of influence in their participation on the film. When they were approached to do the film however, the guys really had no idea who Moore was, and weren't familiar with her music (despite her status as a pop star with several hits on the charts).
Afraid that kids would try releasing their pet fish by flushing them down a drain, a company that manufactures equipment used by water filtration and sewage treatment plants released a warning the Thursday after the film came out saying that, even though drains do eventually reach the ocean, before it got there the water would go through equipment which breaks down solids, and went on to say that in real life the movie would more appropriately be called "Grinding Nemo".
Both Eldon Henson's and Seth Green's character names (Mick & Pnub) are based on the SNL skit where Eddie Murphy played an illiterate character named Buckwheat, who sang popular (at the time) songs in a way that he wasn't understood half the time. In one skit, he sings the song "Lookin' for Love" and sings "Wookin' pa nub in a da wong paces..." It can be heard on the commentary that both Mick's and Pnub's names are based on this skit. (If you say "Mick & Pnub" quickly it almost sounds exactly alike.)

When Anton, stunned after killing his two friends, walks into a support beam in his house, the thudding noise his body makes was not digitally added in after production - this is Devon Sawa actually walking into the solid-wood support beam. Often, when the cast would do a photo shoot or had to re-shoot a scene after this one, Devon would start off by walking into the support beam over and over again to the point that editors working below the stage started to wonder what the noise was.
During some scenes and rehearsals, the director had Mark Ruffalo wear an earpiece to receive his lines from Reese Witherspoon who was not on the set, replicating the situation depicted in the film, where David has to relay Elizabeth's messages to the others who cannot see or hear her.
The original script was much darker to the one in the final film. In the original, Mandella (Kat's best friend) referred openly and frequently to several suicide attempts, which were for her to join with William Shakespeare.
The "after 7 years Allie and Noah" scenes were shot first and then the crew/cast went on a Christmas break. Ryan Gosling had to lose the beard and 20lbs he'd had as the older Noah and come back to play the young Noah. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling were rather shy and unsure around each other in the "after 7 years" scenes but were more comfortable together in the young Allie and Noah scenes
Each of the cast members was given a gift on their last day of shooting, usually a prop that was significant to their roles. Miranda Otto received one of Eowyn's dresses and her sword, Liv Tyler received Arwen's "dying dress", Orlando Bloom got one of Legolas' bows.

Orlando Bloom's big heroic scene atop the Mumakil was shot in just one day. Bloom was filmed on top of a pile of sandbags.
Eight of the nine members of the Fellowship got a small tattoo of the word "nine" spelled out in Tengwar, which is the Elvish script created by Tolkien. They got it at a tattoo parlor in Wellington, New Zealand, to commemorate the experience of the movie. The ninth member, John Rhys-Davies, declined and sent his stunt double in his place. Elijah Wood's tattoo is on his lower stomach. Sean Astin and Billy Boyd have the tattoo on their ankles (to commemorate all those hours in the hobbit feet). Orlando Bloom, who plays the archer elf Legolas, has his on his forearm. His tattoo is visible during a fight scene in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). Ian McKellen's is on his shoulder. Dominic Monaghan's is on his shoulder. And the eighth member, Sean Bean, has his tattoo on his right shoulder. Viggo Mortensen has his tattoo on his left shoulder. It is visible on some pictures from the movie Eastern Promises (2007)
~
Elijah Wood dressed up in breeches and a flowing shirt and went out into the hills to shoot his audition tape. His friend George Huang, directed the video.
In the wide shots of Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli running after the Orcs, all three performers are running injured. Orlando Bloom had a couple of broken ribs (from a fall off a horse); Viggo Mortensen had a broken toe (from kicking the helmet in the Orcs funeral pyre scene); and Brett Beattie (Gimli's stunt double) had a knee injury. Peter Jackson said that all three were very dedicated and continued to film the scene, often yelling "ouch" or "ow" after "cut" was called.
