Great entertainment! Funny and wonderful and I had guessed it would be right up my alley and I wasn't disappointed! Meryl Streep was incredible as usual, even in a different genre for her. The island atmosphere was beautiful, colorful and bright and just made you feel good....as well as the music from Abba! I laughed and danced through the whole thing, FUN FUN FUN!!!! DVD. |

We went to see this for Valentine's Day '07, and really enjoyed it! It was great to see a movie where we didn't have to worry about bad language or sexual inuendos every second! This kind of movie is few and far between. Hugh Grant was awesome-5 stars!! After that performance I'm going to have to add him to my Favorite Actors list! DVD. |

Moulin Rouge! (2001, PG-13)
After watching this bizarre movie a few times, I finally figured out what is was about it that kept drawing me in. It's Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman! They are what makes this movie good. Great chemistry and singing, plus the love between the 2 characters is what makes me like this movie. There are some other scenes that are worth watching, but really this movie is way too busy and bizarre, but the two heroes come to life and save it!! I will re-watch this just to see the two of them! They are phenomenal! VHS. |

P.S. I Love You (2007, PG-13)
I liked this a lot.....but some of it bothered me......I guess I really don't know how I would act if my Husband died~ I do know I would be devastated and wouldn't know how I was going to go on without him....but I know there wouldn't be a party in a bar where we sang vulgar songs and laughed......don't think that would be my mood......so shoot me, but that's just me! Harry Connick Jr. was so bizarre and some of his remarks were not so good.....but I did like most of the story, and boy did I cry! Although it was very sad, I really loved how thought provoking it was.....the idea of a Husband that would be so self-less to think of his wife and do what he did while he was dying.....wow that was awesome! Butler and Swank were wonderful together and most of the other actors were enjoyable as well. (I did want to tell her Mom to leave her alone and let her grieve in her own way!! I don't care how long it takes!!) |

Spider-Man 3 (2007, PG-13)
WOW!! Fabulous! I finally got to see this 5/19/07, and it was worth the wait! I think this is my favorite of the three. Before I went to see this I heard all kinds of comments, both negative and positive, so I was really looking forward to making my own judgement. To those who say it's too cheesy, I say "Hello", It's supposed to be! It's a Marvel comic strip, it's always been that way! I thought the so called cheesy parts were so FUNNY! And to those who say there are too many villians, I say "The more the merrier!" I thought this movie had more personality than the others. It also had a very good message-"Revenge is like a POISON", AMEN!! It had Sacrifice & Forgiveness, gee that sounds familiar.....oh ya, that's what Jesus did for us! This is a must see, I loved it!! |

Star Trek (2009, PG-13)
This was GREAT!! I have SOOO enjoyed the action movies this year! They did a great job casting the characters to play all our fave people in the Star Trek series! I thoroughly enjoyed looking for the characters and then watching them act just like they did when they were older...there were some great lines to help with this. Awesome action, awesome movie :) On "My 5 Star Action/Adventures" list. DVD. |

Staying Alive (1983, PG)
This sequel to John Travolta's 70's Disco hit, Saturday Night Fever, was directed by Sylvester Stallone and about 8 songs were written by his brother Frank who also performs some in the movie with Cynthia Rhodes--Great job! Her and Finola Hughes were awesome in their parts. Some very cheesy lines and bad acting at times, but John is cute and the music and dancing are fun! It's just one of those movies I can watch again and again and can't help but like it even in it's cheesiness. One of my favorite lines, Tony: "It was sweet, it was like syrup....I had a cavity just listenin' to it!" Ya gotta luv it! VHS. |

Swing Kids (1993, PG-13)
Wow I really liked this great Drama! I began watching this thinking it was a "Dance" movie, but I was wrong. It's a very dramatic portrayal of German boys struggling in Nazi Germany, it does have some swing dancing but is mostly about their struggle to understand what is going on with the whole Nazi movement and where they fit in it all. Great acting by Robert Sean Leonard and others--Christian Bale plays a butthead and Noah Wyle a total jerk. A tragic, moving flick, that brought tears to my eyes more than once. On "My 5 Star Dramas" list. DVD. |

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! I Loved it as a kid and I never get tired of it. Danny Kaye is hilarious and great in it! It's kind of a fantasy about twin brothers that are total opposites. The nightclub singer brother gets killed and then begins to contact his bookworm brother--it makes for alot of fun! "I want a Pint of Pelican". On "My Favorite Movies" & "My 5 Star Funnies" lists.
