I loved Donnie Darko but this film made not much sense as a sequel, and is not worthy of it either. It tries too hard to be a cool indie but instead everything about it feels like a lousy B movie; the acting and the script, it is all too shallow- although I did enjoy watching Westwick pose sexy like James Dean and the adorkable but creepy character of Rathbone. Occasionally you get back that Donnie Darko feeling which saves this film from being terrible, but overall, it remains a rather insignificant movie. |
