Jake Gyllenhaal plays Donnie Darko brilliantly (by far the best performance I have seen by him) in this humorous, smart and highly original movie, which leaves you feeling exceptionally confused and sad.
After watching this, I could do nothing but constantly think and question the entire movie scene for scene continually I think ill be doing it for a while...hopefully not for the rest of my life.!

Jaguar Paw: I am Jaguar Paw, son of Flint Sky. My Father hunted this forest before me. My name is Jaguar Paw. I am a hunter. This is my forest. And my sons will hunt it with their sons after I am gone.
Another historic epic from Mel Gibson that is extremely realistic, visually stunning and beautifully done, with a great soundtrack. The acting is magnificent particularly from Rudy Youngblood, as he has to carry most of the film, with his world turned upside down the range of emotions conveyed are done well and most importantly believable. The supporting cast does well also.
With all that said, I still cannot help feeling a little let down by this - almost as if the movie needed something more, perhaps I was expecting a little to much from it.
Jaguar Paw: I am Jaguar Paw. This is my forest. And I am not afraid.

Mr. Smith: You know what I hate?
Daft, over the top, funny with plenty of carrot munching and great action sequences.
I found Paul Gimatti a little on the annoying side but Clive Owen is great and hilarious throughout.
This is not a movie to be taken seriously it is meant to be daft and over the top and like a cartoon.
I don't hate this movie but don't love it either, probably something I would watch again a few more times.!
Mr. Smith: I hate it when parents hit their children.
Woman in Museum: Let go of my arm!
Mr. Smith: Not until you stop hitting your kid.
Woman in Museum: I will discipline my child as I see fit.
Mr. Smith: How would you like it if I spank you?
[Smith spanks the mother]
Mr. Smith: See? It doesn't feel so good, does it?
