Saam gaang (3 Extremes II) (Three Extremes 2) (2003, R)
Not as strong as the first Three Extremes (although technically this is the first film) with the stories tending to move at a slower, less effective pace. Kim Jee-Woon does what is familiar in Memories using powerful imagery and very few words combined with a slow build up that doesn't seem to be as effective as some of his previous films, but is still very engaging. The Wheel was not really my thing at all and seemed to be a terrible mess combined with some poor acting despite the interesting story. The last entry by Peter Chan is the most effective and stylish of the three and combines a powerful love story with a devastating finale. |

I think Black Circle Boys is difficult to get hold of outside of the US too. Though if you have a free-region player you could import one. That is, if I'm right.
