Slap Shot (1977,  R)
Slap Shot
A must see for any hockey fan. One of the greatest hockey movies ever made. Paul Newman is excellent in this. Also got to love the Hanson brothers in this. Shows the crude and dirty side of hockey. Don Cherry hockey as I like to call it. A classic sports film.
2
Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms (2006,  Unrated)
Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms
This is a good animated movie. I'm glad Ron Perlman did Hellboy's voice in this. In fact even Doug Jones, John Hurt and Selma Blair did the voices of each of their characters from the live action movies,. Good story and great animation. The live action and animated films have made me now read the books and comics of Hellboy. If you liked the live action films of Hellboy then you should check this out.
3
Lethal Weapon 3 (1992,  R)
Lethal Weapon 3
A nice thrid addition to the Lethal Weapon series. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are back in their roles. They still have the great chemistry in this film. Nice to have Joe Pesci back and Rene Russo is great as the love interest for Mel Gibson's character. With a good story and great action this is a great third film.
4
Batman (1989,  PG-13)
Batman
The best of the Tim Burton Batman movies. Also the film that brought new life into the Batman series and comics. I remember after this film came out that Batman mania grew to a all new high. I was already a fan but this just helped pave the way for more movies and a great animated show later. Jack Nicholson was a great Joker. Very funny yet had a very twisted evil to him. Keaton played a good Batman and Bruce Wayne. He was also the best Batman out of the Batman series in the 89-90's. The film has a great look to it. That also helped make Batman such a great film. I even liked the Prince soundtrack to this. Tim Burton helped make a great superhero movie. A classic now.
5
Batman Returns (1992,  PG-13)
Batman Returns
This was a okay sequel to the first Batman movie. The original by Tim Burton was much better. This started the campy stuff for the movie series before Batman Begins saved the movie franchise. And I didn't like the look of the Penguin. They made him more of a mutated freak than a evil business man/mobster as in the comics. Michael Keaton though is great as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Plus Michelle Pfeiffer was a perfect choice for Catwoman. Loved the look of the leather costume they made for her in this film. The story overall was decent and the films is full of Batman gadgets, car chases and fights. Worth a watch if you enjoyed the first Batman movie by Tim Burton.
6
Batman & Robin (1997,  PG-13)
Batman & Robin
The most campy of the Batman movies. I enjoyed the Adam West movie more. They had to many villains in this film. Bane was not needed in this film. Plus the Batman nipples on the costume? But since I'm a Batman fan I will still own this film.
7
Batman Gotham Knight (2008,  Unrated)
Batman Gotham Knight
A film based on six short Batman stories. The artwork was basically all Anime. The art work went from bad to good as each story was told. My favorite stories were the Killer Croc/Scarecrow story and the Deadshot story at the end. The Deadshot story was my favorite of all six and had the best artwork. This is a must see for Batman fans but I enjoyed the animated series artwork and stories much better than this film.

Letters from Iwo Jima (2006,  R)
Letters from Iwo Jima
This was a great movie. Nice to see a story on the Japanese side of the war. Great acting by the entire cast. I saw Flags of our Fathers first and you could see scenes taken from each movie during the battle. Clint Eastwood did a great job in directing these films. The movie is subtitled through out which makes it that much better. I prefer sometimes films keeping the original language of the country. It adds to the movie. Ken Watanabe was the only Japanese actor I reconized in the film. But again I thought the all the actors did a good job in their roles. A must see for war film fans.
9
Flags of Our Fathers (2006,  R)
Flags of Our Fathers
A great war film. Shows a new side of the American fight in WWII. Great cast and a interesting story behind the famous picture of American soldiers raising the flag. Clint Eastwood directs this film very well. You can see footage from this film and match to the movie Letters from Iwo Jima during the battle scenes. I would suggest watching either film back to back to catch this. Adam Beach stood out as the best actor from the film. He was very good in his role. I thought everyone in the film did a great job. Overall a great film.
10
Black Book (Zwartboek) (2007,  R)
Black Book (Zwartboek)
Great WWII drama. Great acting by the entire cast. Story was great and kept you wondering through the whole film who could be trusted. The movie is subtiled since the actors speak Dutch and German through the film. You only get some English at the end of the movie when the war is over and the Canadian and British troops moved in. Highly recommend this movie for WWII movie fans. Great to see a WWII film based on events from the resistance side. Overall a good film.
11
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975,  PG)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
This film is a classic. Has to be one of the funniest comedies ever made. This film has so many great and quotable scenes. It's hard to say which part is my favorite. Now some of the humor may not appeal to all but everyone should try and give it a chance. I always get a good laugh watching this film.
12
Superman II (1981,  PG)
Superman II
A great sequel to the original Superman film. Christopher Reeve is back as Superman/Clark Kent. He is excellent again in this role. He helps makes this film great. Gene Hackman back as Lex Luthor. Great as usual. Plus a great follow up story with General Zod and his allies escaping the Phantom Zone and coming to take over earth and kill Superman. Sure some of the F/X doesn't always look as good as film nowadays. But it was good for it's time. Plus you have to love the line "Kneel before Zod!". Always sticks in my head after watching it. Overall a great sequel and superhero film.
13
Superman III (1983,  PG)
Superman III
This is my least favorite of the Christopher Reeve Superman series. Richard Pryor was not needed as a character in this film. Plus the villains were not that great in the movie. Sure you don't need Lex Luthor in every film but they needed a classic Superman villain like Brainiac. Sure we had a super computer that went evil but it still was not the same. Christopher Reeve is still great as Superman/Clark Kent. Plus we still get Jackie Cooper, Margot Kidder and Marc McClure from all the other films to return. Plus Annette O'Toole was a great choice to play Lana Lang. She appears later in the Smallville television series as Martha Kent. As a Superman and Christopher Reeve fan I still watch this movie today. But I just wish it could have been just a little bit better.
14
Superman IV - The Quest for Peace (1987,  PG)
Superman IV - The Quest for Peace
I like this Superman film. Sure its not as good as Superman and Superman II. But this was much better than Superman III. And I'm glad Lex Luthor was back as the villian and they gave Superman a challenge with his clone. Christopher Reeve is again awesome as Superman and carries the entire film. This movie gets listed as the worst of the entire Christopher Reeve Superman films. But as a Superman fan I enjoyed this movie and still do today. Worth a watch for those hardcore Superman and Christopher Reeve fans.
15
Mission Impossible (1996,  PG-13)
Mission Impossible
A great action movie based on a old television series. First off the theme music to the show and the film have always been classic. It gets stuck in your head. Director Brian DePalma gives us a fast pace, high octane spy thriller. Tom Cruise is very good in this. Gives a top notch performance as the main hero in the film. Plus with a great supporting cast helps as well. A good story with some awesome action sequences makes this a fun film to watch. The Mission Impossible series holds it's own against the Bond and Bourne series. A worthy watch.
16
Mission Impossible 2 (2000,  PG-13)
Mission Impossible 2
A good sequel. Good choice to have John Woo direct this film. Nice to see a director take a different approach sometimes on a series of films. Also better was that Dougray Scott was stuck filming this movie so Hugh Jackman was given the role for Wolverine in X-Men. Thanks to John Woo there are more over the top action scenes then the first film. But this is just as good as the original. Tom Cruise is excellent in this. Overall a great action film and series.
17
Mission: Impossible III (2006,  PG-13)
Mission: Impossible III
This turned out to be a good third film in the Mission Impossible series. Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames are back for this film. Tom Cruise is great as usual in his role as agent Ethan Hunt. This film definitely has that J.J.Abrams feel to the film. Sort of reminded me of a Alias episode that Abrams would have filmed. Philip Seymour Hoffman was great as the main villain. The film is full of action and fight sequences. Plus a great story helped the film as well. In the same league as the Bond or Bourne films. Well worth a watch.
18
Superman (1978,  PG)
Superman
One of the best super hero movies ever made. A great movie for the time it was made. Some of the F/X is not as good as some movies as today. But it still holds up as a classic film. Richard Donner stayed true to the Superman from the comics. Christopher Reeve was the perfect casting choice as Superman. His Superman/Clark Kent was perfect. His performance will always be hard to live up to for future actors wanting this role. Gene Hackman was great as Lex Luthor. Heck even the casting of Lois, Perry White and Jimmy Olsen was great. Plus with a great story and direction from Richard Donner makes this a classic film. The best in the Christopher Reeve series of Superman films. A must see for Superman and comic fans.
19
L.A. Confidential (1997,  R)
L.A. Confidential
An excellent supense/ mystery/ thirller. Great cast. Great story. A great cop film. I loved the look of the film and the character's. Russell Crowe, James Cromwell, Kevin Spacey, Danny Devito, Guy Pearce and Kim Basinger are all excellent in this film. One of the best films released in the 90's. A must see.
20
The Shawshank Redemption (1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
This is such a great film. The story to the great characters make this a great film. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman shine as the two main characters in the film. Plus with a outstanding supporting cast helsp make this a good film. You would never think this was written by Stephen King. Shows us how cruel and how good humans can be to each other. It was great to finally see Tim Robbins escape in the end. I great ending to the film. A must see.
21
Toy Story (1995,  G)
Toy Story
This is a great animated film. Is a classic film. Great humor and story for kids and adults. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen lead this movie with a all star supporting cast for the voices. Everybody wished their toys would come alive and talk when they were kids. A great concept. A recommended must see film.
22
Bulletproof (1996,  R)
Bulletproof
A very funny movie. One of Adam Sandler's and Damon Wayans hidden hits. This your typical buddy cop type of comedy. Some of the humour is crude but it is still a funny movie. Plus some decent action in the film. Overall just a fun movie to watch and enjoy.
23
The Da Vinci Code (2006,  PG-13)
The Da Vinci Code
I've never read the book but the movie was really good. It does make you think back on history and how maybe certain people have controlled or hidden parts of history. A good story with some decent action in it. Tom Hanks and Ian McKellen give the best performances in this film. Worth a watch.
24
Mr. Brooks (2007,  R)
Mr. Brooks
This film surprised me how good it was. One of Kevin Costner's best film roles since Dances with Wolves. Kevin plays a serial killer who slips up and then has to make sure he is not caught. The film has a great cast with Demi Moore, William Hurt, Dane Cook and Marg Helgenberger. I must say that Kevin Costner and William Hurt both do excellent jobs in their roles. The film has a great story with great twists and unexpected turns. Well worth a watch.
25
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948,  Unrated)
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein
This is a classic comedy. Abbott and Costello bring us another one of their great comedies. This time they meet Frankenstein, Count Dracula and the Wolfman. They actually got the great Bela Lugosi to play Count Dracula for the film. The film is full of the duo's antics and funny lines. A great comedy to watch even to this day.
26
Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951,  Unrated)
Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man
This is a classic. Abbott and Costello bring the laughs through out the film. I always enjoy watching this film. This time the duo meet the invisible man. The film is a mix of mystery and comedy. This is one of my favorites from Abbott and Costello.
27
Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1953,  Unrated)
Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
A classic comedy. The duo of Abbot and Costello bring us the laughs again in this film. This time they get their antics mixed up with Dr.Jekyll/Mr.Hyde. The film is a joy to watch and is full of laughs. This comedy is still funny to watch to this day.
28
Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955,  Unrated)
Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy
A classic comedy. Abbott and Costello bring us another funny film. I always get a good laugh from watching this film. Your basic comedy routine from the duo that has them running from a Mummy. Full of gagas and laughs. Worth a watch.
29
Wild Hogs (2007,  PG-13)
Wild Hogs
I was quite impressed as to how funny this film is. Starring actors John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy. They all had good chemistry through out the film. This group of middle age men go on a road trip with their motorcycles and get into a adventure of mishap and chance. They were all very funny in this. Plus Ray Liotta as the main bad guy in the film is also funny. Overall this is a fun film with tons of laughs.
30
In the Line of Fire (1993,  R)
In the Line of Fire
This is a great suspense thriller starring Clint Eastwood. Clint is excellent as usual in his role. John Malkovich is great as the main villain in the film. With a good story and supporting cast and some decent action makes for a good thriller. A very entertaining movie.
31
Grumpy Old Men (1993,  PG-13)
Grumpy Old Men
This was a very funny movie. Worth a watch. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau have great chemistry in this film. They bring such great characters and laughs to this film. Burgess Meredith is also very funny as the grandfather. A fun light hearted comedy.
32
Dazed and Confused (1993,  R)
Dazed and Confused
This is one of those films that reminds me of my high school days. Except for the paddle spanking. I never had that during my days of school. With a great talented young cast you see many in this film before they became big name stars. A great simple story of high school and hanging with friends. The films has a awesome soundtrack to a great look of the 70's clothes and style. One of those films that you could easily relate to the characters. Just a great film.
33
Airplane! (1980,  PG)
Airplane!
Very Funny. I think this movie helped pave the way for other movies with the same humor. Has a great cast. Lloyd Bridges and Leslie Nielsen stood out the most in this film for me. They were both very funny. This film is still funny today. A classic comedy.
34
Old School (2003,  R)
Old School
This is a very funny film. Crude humour but very funny. It is basically a film about a group of guys wanting to relive their college days. Also sort of takes your typical college film of the students against the evil Dean of the college. Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn are all funny in this. Plus a good supporting cast in this makes for a good film. Overall a fun funny film.
35
Lucky Number Slevin (2006,  R)
Lucky Number Slevin
When I first saw the previews for this film I thought it was going to be a comedy. But it turned out to be a action thriller with a twist. Now there are funny moments in this. More of a dark comedy. The film has a great cast. Bruce Willis, Ben Kingsley, Morgan Freeman and Lucy Liu are quite good in this. It's Josh Hartnett that wowed me in this. He was excellent in this. A nice mix of humour and darkness to his character. The film has a good story and a great twist in the end. Well worth a watch.
36
GoodFellas (1990,  R)
GoodFellas
This has to be one of my all time favorite gangster film. Martin Scorsese directs another classic in his film list. All star performances from DeNiro, Pesci and Liotta. Plus great supporting roles from the rest of the cast. Shows the dark sides of the life of a gangster. One of those films that is so good it is a must see.
37
Forbidden Planet (1956,  G)
Forbidden Planet
This is one of the first Sci-fi films I saw as a child. This movie was well done for the time it was made. It had a great story and well acted. Plus I was a fan of Robbie the Robot. This is a classic film. I still enjoy watching this film to this day.
38
Carlito's Way (1993,  R)
Carlito's Way
This is a Al Pacino classic. Al Pacino gives a great performance in this. Is a great story of a ex-con wanting to stay away from his old ways of crime. The film has a great look and colourful characters. Has a great supporting cast. I loved Sean Penn as the sleazy lawyer in this. This was a great crime/mob movie.
39
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993,  PG-13)
Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
If your a fan of the great legend Bruce Lee then this is a must see. Based on the life of Bruce Lee it shows his life from childhood up to his death. Jason Scott Lee and Lauren Holly both give great performances. This film shows the struggle of one man trying to make something of his life for his family and his career. Plus with some great action scenes shows why Bruce Lee will always be one of the best martial artists in film and the world. A great watch.
40
The Lost Boys (1987,  R)
The Lost Boys
A great vampire movie from the 80's. With a great cast of young actors in this film plus a great story and look to the film makes this a classic. One of those rare vampire movies that looks dated but is still a great watch today. Is a horror film but also takes elements of comedy and adventure in the story. Just a fun film to watch for some mindless entertainment.
41
The Godfather (1972,  R)
The Godfather
This is the classic and must see of gangster films. Francis Ford Copppla directs this beautiful shot film about a dark world of American gangsters.Marlon Brando gives his best performance ever in this film. Along with Al Pacino and cast they also give top notch performances. The film is long but is needed to tell this tale. This is one of those must see films.
42
The Godfather, Part II (1974,  R)
The Godfather, Part II
This is a great sequel. I found I enjoyed this as much as the original. Takes off from the original story and continues the reign of the Corleone family. Al Pacino, DeNiro and Duvall give top notch performances. A classic and a must see in films. If you enjoyed the original or just gangster films then this is a must see.
43
The Godfather, Part III (1990,  R)
The Godfather, Part III
The third film in the Godfather series is good but not as good as the first two. The film still has that great cast and the story continues from the second film. The story does not flow like the other films but it still does a good enough job for entertaining. Al Pacino and Andy Garcia are quite good in their roles. If you enjoyed the other Godfather films then I would suggest checking this out.
44
Highlander II: The Quickening (Highlander 2) (1991,  R)
Highlander II: The Quickening (Highlander 2)
This sequel is not that great. Is worth a watch if you saw the first installment. You have to watch it a few times to understand the weird depart from the original. They say the immortals are aliens? I'm a fan of the Highlander movies and T.V. show but I think they could have done better on this film.
45
Highlander - Endgame (2000,  R)
Highlander - Endgame
I liked this film. This is sort of a off shoot from the movies and the television show. You have Adrian Paul as Duncan MacLeod and Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod who are the two main immortals from the films and television series. Plus nice to see Peter Wingfield and Jim Byrnes from the television show in this as well. The film brings a nice mix of the movies and television series history together in this. The story is quite good and the film has tons of action and fight scenes. Plus the F/X was done well in this film. But if you have never seen the Highlander movies and television show you might get lost as to who the characters are and why they do what they do. I am a fan of the movies and television show so I enjoyed this. Worth checking out for Highlander fans.
46
Highlander III: The Sorcerer (Highlander: The Final Dimension) (1993,  R)
Highlander III: The Sorcerer (Highlander: The Final Dimension)
This was a good third film in the series. Christopher Lambert is good again as Connor MacLeod. This was much better than the second film. Has good action and a good story.
47
Airplane 2 - The Sequel (1982,  PG)
Airplane 2 - The Sequel
This is a classic sequel. Just as good as the original film. The Airplane movie series helped start this type of ridiculous humor. Only Airplane and the Naked gun movies could really capture the great humor of these type of films. Now we get movies today that are not even close to these classics. Some of the original cast are back in this with great extras added such as William Shatner. A great comedy worth watching.
48
The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad! (1988,  PG-13)
The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad!
The best of the Naked gun series. Leslie Neilsen is very funny in this. Heck even O.J. Simpson was funny in this. That's how funny this film is. This movie is right up there with Airplane. Most films try to be as funny with this brand of humour but fail. But the Naked Gun film is well written and the comedic performances from the cast are great. A must see comedy.
49
The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991,  PG-13)
The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear
This is a great sequel. If your a fan of the first film then check this out. I still enjoy the original the best but this is funny as well. The cast are back in this from the original. Leslie Nielsen gives another great comedic performance as Lieutenant Drebin. Lieutenant Drebin is such a great fun character. I always get a good laugh from watching this film. And even O.J.Simpson is funny again in this. One of my favorite comedies to watch.
50
The Naked Gun 33 1/3: the Final Insult (1994,  PG-13)
The Naked Gun 33 1/3: the Final Insult
The third installment in the Naked Gun movies. This is a very funny movie. Not as funny as the first two but still funny none the less. A great ending to a great series. Leslie Nielsen is funny as always in this film and the entire cast are great as well. One of my favorite comedies. Always a good laugh watching this film.
51
Mad Max (1979,  R)
Mad Max
A classic. The first in the series. I liked it even though the film seemed low budget. Has a good story of a apocalyptic future. Mel Gibson stars in this as Mad Max who goes out for revenge for the death of his family. The film is dark and a fun watch. Full of car chases and road battle scenes. The film is well worth a watch.
52
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) (1981,  R)
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior)
This is my favorite film from the Mad Max series. Seems to be years later from the original. A great look for a post apocalyptic world. The villains are great in this and the movie has a decent story about a tribe trying to hold off a grew of bandits who want their supply of oil. Mel Gibson is awesome as Mad Max again. If you want a long car chase scene then this film is for you. A classic film.
53
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3) (1985,  PG-13)
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3)
My least favorite from the Mad Max series. But it still delivers the post apocalyptic look of the film and odd characters. I still enjoy the first two Mad Max films more. Mel Gibson is still great as Mad Max. And the film still has those great car chase and action sequences that come from this series. Even Tina Turner was decent in her role. If you enjoyed the other Mad Max films then check this one out.
54
Conspiracy Theory (1997,  R)
Conspiracy Theory
This is a decent action thriller. The film stars Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts and Patrick Stewart. Mel Gibson plays the paranoid man who thinks evryone is out to get him to a tee. The film is about a paranoid man who has conspiracy therory on about everything. Eventually one of his theories are true and this organization try to kill him. This is a fun great thriller. Great acting by the entire cast and some great scenes through out the film. Well worth checking out.
55
Gallipoli (1981,  PG)
Gallipoli
A classic war drama movie. I watched this back in my grade 11 history class. Mel Gibson was great in this. The story basically starts off about friendship and life. The other half is basically the Aussies going to war and trying to survive. Overall the film works to bring a bit of the human element into a war story. You root for the two main characters to survive till the end of the war. A must see for war movie fans.
56
Air America (1990,  R)
Air America
This was a good film with a mix of action and humor. Also shows a side of the Vietnam war. Mel Gibson and Robert Downey are both good in this.
57
Ransom (1996,  R)
Ransom
This is a excellent suspense action thriller. Mel Gibson and Gary Sinise are both great in this. The film has a good story with some good action scenes. The film is well paced and a fun watch. Ron Howard directs a perfect action thriller. Well worth the watch.
58
Toy Story 2 (1999,  G)
Toy Story 2
This was a good sequel. I still like the original Toy Story better but this was good. Great to have the original cast back to voice the film. Has a good story and enough humor for kids and adults. Good CGI for the film. A great family film.
59
Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan (1982,  PG)
Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan
This is a great Star Trek film. So much better then the first in the series. This film delivers more action and a much better story. Bringing back a classic villain such as Khan from the television show looking for revenge was brilliant. It was that exact actor who played him in the show Ricardo Montalban. He was such a great villain. I think that is what helped this film. Plus great performances all around for William Shatner(Kirk), Leonard Nimoy(Spock) and Deforest Kelley(Bones). This film helped show how close these character were as friends. Also kudos to the rest of the cast as well. This is the film that saved Star Trek in the 80's and helped pave the way for more movies and television shows later on. Overall a great Sci-fi film.
60
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier (1989,  PG)
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier
This is a good fifth film in the original Star Trek series. With a great story and action in the film I found it entertained. We get more of a back story on Spock's past and we continue to see the strong friendship between Kirk, Spock and Bones. The story itself delves into faith and does a good job with it. Some people found this to be a weak film. But overall I though it was a very good film.
61
Star Trek - Insurrection (1998,  PG)
Star Trek - Insurrection
This is a good Star Trek film if you were a fan of the television series the Next Generation. The film has a great story and tons of action and great characters. But the film seem more for Trekkie fans then someone else walking into this film not knowing anything about Star Trek. I liked the film since I was a fan of the television series and the other films. I would suggest maybe watching Generations and First Contact before watching this film in the Star Trek Next Generations list of films. But overall great acting, action and a strong Sci-fi story. Worth watching.
62
National Lampoon's Animal House (1978,  R)
National Lampoon's Animal House
The movie that started all of the college comedy movies later on. This film set the standard of these type of films. Crude yet funny comedy. The film had a great young cast. John Belushi stood out the most in this film. He was great in this. This is one of those fun films not to be taken to serious. It knows it is a goof ball adventure of some college frat guys and girls. A classic.
63
Equilibrium (2002,  R)
Equilibrium
When I first started watching this film I didn't know what to make of it. But once the story progressed I did enjoy it. The basic story is about a future society that does not allow emotion from their citizens. They take these pills to surpress this in them. But there are rebels who fight this and the goverments stance on this. The film stars Christian Bale, Sean Bean, Taye Diggs and Angus Macfadyen. Christian Bale is excellent in this. The film has a very neat story and is full of action. The action deals with many gun battle scenes which are very well done and great to watch. Overall a decent story with some great action and great cast. Well worth a watch.
64
Timecop (1994,  R)
Timecop
This is one of Jean Claude Van Damme best movies he made. The film has a interesting story and some great action and fight sequences. Plus a decent job on the F/X for the film. Ron Silver was great as the main villain for the film. Overall a decent watch.
65
Lionheart (Wrong Bet) (A.W.O.L.: Absent Without Leave) (1991,  R)
Lionheart (Wrong Bet) (A.W.O.L.: Absent Without Leave)
I don't know why but this is one of my favorite films by Jean Claude Van Damme. I watched this as a kid and just seem to enjoy it. Not a great film but had a decent plot and good action scenes.
66
Scrooged (1988,  PG-13)
Scrooged
This is a great take on the classic Charles Dickens novel "A Christmas Carol". Bill Murray stars in this as a television executive who is a scrooge during the holidays. The film is a comedy take on the classic story. Full of great characters and funny scenes. Bill Murray is very funny in this film. A Christmas classic. I watch it every year during the holidays.
67
The Great Outdoors (1988,  PG)
The Great Outdoors
This is a classic comedy from the 80's. Stars John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. They are both very funny in this. The film has a solid story of a man on vacation in the woods with his family when his in-laws invade their vacation. This of course leads to many funny moments. A solid comedy that I enjoyed. Worth checking out if your a John Candy fan.

Top Gun (1986,  PG)
Top Gun
This is a classic Tom Cruise film from the 80's. With names like Maverick, Goose and Iceman you have to just love these characters. They were so cool and confident. This film has to be one of Tom Cruise top movies he made. He was perfect as the young cocky but good pilot. Anthony Edwards as the comic relief to Tom and Val Kilmer as the cocky yet pain in the ass pilot to Tom. This is one of those films that made wanting to join the air force look cool. Also the main theme song the Danger Zone was a perfect fit into the movie. One of those songs that gets stuck into your head. Overall a fun and entertaining movie.

License to Drive (1988,  PG-13)
License to Drive
A classic 80's movie. I still like this one today. The two Corey's second best film made together. The film is about a teen and his friends that take his Grandfather's car out on the town and get into a series of adventures and trouble. A great teen film. The film is very dated but still fun to watch. Some funny moments through out. Every teen should watch this so they know what not to do with the car when they get their license. Worth checking out.

This was a good movie. The only thing I didn't like was the ending when the villian threw the baby at Christoher Lamberts character. Look very fake and cheesy.
71
Schindler's List (1993,  R)
Schindler's List
A classic film. Depicts a very tragic part of our history. Not your typical WWII film. Gives us the dark look into how humans can be evil and cruel due to someone being a different race or religion. Steven Spielberg filmed this in black and white. A perfect way to film this story. Everyone who made or performed as actors give all star performances in this film. A must see film for everyone to see.

Young Guns II (1990,  PG-13)
Young Guns II
This is a great sequel. Billy the Kid is back and still just as wild and bad as the first. The story kicks off right from the first. The characters that survived the first film are back. Now the Billy the Kid is based off true events. Now I am not sure how accurate this story is but it delivers as a first rate great western. With a great cast, story and action makes for a fun film. Check out the original and this sequel for a good watch.

I have never seen any of the Evil Dead films but I thought this film was great. A fun campy fantasy/horror film. Bruce Campbell is very funny in this. The film never takes its self to serious. Director Sam Raimi does a great job making this a fun fantasy/horror to watch. You don't need to see the Evil Dead films to still enjoy this. The F/X are quite good in this and the film has tons of action and battle scenes. A fun watch.

Wyatt Earp (1994,  PG-13)
Wyatt Earp
This is a western about the life of famous gun slinger/lawman Wyatt Earp. I am not sure how accurate it is in his depiction but I found this to be a interesting western. Stars Kevin Costner as Wyatt Earp. He does a solid job in that role. Plus the film has a great supporting cast to fill the rest of the roles. The story of his life and family and friends is quite interesting. A worthy western to watch. If you end up liking this film then check out Tombstone as well. It came out around the same time. Without a Clue
This is a funny film. Starring Michael Caine as Sherlock Holmes and Ben Kingsley as Watson. The basic plot is that Watson is the actual sleuth for all the cases and just uses a actor to potray Holmes. The film is funny and with a great mystery story. But it is the comedy and chemistry that Caine and Kingsley bring to their characters and the film. A fun film worth watching.
84
The Private Eyes (1981,  PG)
The Private Eyes

A great Sci-fi film. If you never watched the show there may be parts of the film that may make you scratch your head.
95

Gremlins 2 was not as good as the original but was a decent sequel. The film still has that supernatural feel to it but they made it more of a comedy. It does have some very funny scenes with the Gremlins. My favorite Gremlin in this was the one who became super intelligent. Some of the original cast are back. Overall the film could have been better but I still enjoyed watching it. If your a fan of the original then I would suggest checking this film out.

Maurice Richard (The Rocket)
A great hockey film. I'm not a Montreal Canadian fan but this is a must for hockey fans. A great film showing the struggles of a man and his family in Quebec trying to survive. Hockey was a second job to Maurice to feed his family. Shows the tough times of the NHL before helmets and very little pay in it. Also shows how the rich and poor are divided in this and how things change over time. Much more than a hockey film. A film about a great man and a Canadian hero.

Not a bad comeback film for Stallone. It was neat to see Rocky older and how his life has changed since Rocky V. Milo Ventimiglia was a perfect choice to play Rocky's son. I just wish Rocky knocked out the champ at the end of the film. Overall this is more of a movie for die hard Rocky fans.

Brad Pitt gives a awesome performance as a mental patient. The story is decent and the characters interesting to make for a good movie. Loved the ending twist to this film. Well worth checking out.

With a great story and interesting characters makes this a fun film. My second favorite prison based film behind Shawshank Redemption.

The Rock (1996,  R)
The Rock
This is a top notch action thrill ride of a film. One of director Michael Bay's best action films. First the film has a great cast of Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris. Sean Connery was excellent in this. Such a great character. The film has a decent story and is full of action. I think that is what makes this such a fun film to watch. The story and the action are blended well together. One of the best action films from the 90's. Check it out.

Buck Privates (1941,  Unrated)
Buck Privates
A classic film. Abbott & Costello are still funny today. Always get a laugh from their films. This may be a older film but I still enjoy watching this film. 155
You Only Live Twice (1967,  PG)
156
Galaxy Quest (1999,  PG)
Galaxy Quest
This is a very funny movie. The film takes a bunch of actors from a old sci-fi show called Galaxy Quest at a convention who get taken by actual aliens to help save them against their enemy. Unfortunately, the aliens have been receiving the television transmission from space believing these people can save them based on what the show has broadcasted. The film pokes fun at a lot of old Star Trek episodes and characters but is done very well. The film has a great cast with Tim Allen, Sam Rockwell, Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver and Tony Shalhoub. The story is funny and great with some decent F/X. A fun film full of laughs and great characters. Worth a watch.

158
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie (2006,  R)
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie
A very funny movie. If you like the television show then you will like the movie. Just seems like a long episode. Look for cameo's by Hugh Dillon(ex Headstones singer, now has his own band and actor in TV/movies) and Gord Downie(from the Tragically Hip). The film is basically a heist film With Ricky, Julian and Bubbles trying to make a big score. The characters are crazy and fun. You might have to be a fan of the show though to enjoy the film. I liked it.
159

It's Steven Seagal's best film. This is the film that set up his career. The story is simple and the action is well done. With a great villain like Tommy Lee Jones added to it makes for a fun film. It's just one of those fun mindless action films that work. I don't think Seagal has ever matched this action film to the others he has made.
179
Jurassic Park (1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
This is a good Sci-fi action adventure movie. Damn raptors to smart for their own good! Apparently people debunked some of the science behind the movie but is still a entertaning watch. The Bounty (1984,  PG)
The Bounty
This is a good update on the original Munity on the Bounty film. The film has a all star cast with Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson, Daniel Day Lewis and Edward Fox. Tommy Boy (1995,  PG-13)
Tommy Boy
If you saw Black Sheep then you will like Tommy Boy. Very funny . A Chris Farley classic. Chris Farley and David Spade are both very funny in this. Great comedy chemistry together in their films. The story is simply about Tommy who comes home from college to work in his father's business. the film is full of quirky, crude, physical comedy which is expected from Farley. But it works and makes me laugh. Fans of Farley and Spade from their days with SNL will enjoy this film.

Blankman (1994,  PG-13)
Blankman
This is one of those silly and odd films that I actually enjoyed. Stars Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier as two heroes trying to make a difference in the city. Blankman's best weapon is his bulletproof underwear. Now I know that sounds odd but it made the film very funny. They make lots of spoofs on comics and super hero films. Damon Wayans takes lots of his humour from his Living Colour television days and incorporates it into this film. The film made me laugh and is worth at least a one time watch.

This movie isn't a masterpiece but it is funny. I thought I wouldn't like it but I enjoyed watching it. If you enjoy films like Black Sheep, Billy Madison or Dirty Work then you should like this.

A must see for fans of war films.

Big Trouble in Little China
This is a great over the top fantasy action adventure film. First off this is my favorite Kurt Russell film of all time. His character Jack Burton is your typical tough guy who can whip out the sarcastic lines like nobodys business. His character is so funny through out the film. The film has a decent story and some great action scenes. Even the F/X in this film is quite good. The film can be cheesy at times but that is what gives its charm. Another great action film by the master Jackie Chan. This time we have Jackie Chan as a commando sent to kidnap a scientist. But he develops amnesia along the way and must discover his true identity. Worth a watch for Jackie Chan fans.

This is a great goofy, silly, funny ride of a film. The film is a great mix of comedy and mystery. Bob Hoskins is excellent in this as the lead actor. If your a fan of the old Looney Tunes, Woody Woodpecker Show or the older Disney cartoons then you should enjoy. The film does a great job having the cartoon characters inrteract with the actual actors. The animation in this is simple yet well done. Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit are two great cartoon characters for the film. You could tell that Jessica Rabbit was drawn a certain way to entice men to see this film. Overall this is a well done film with a great mystery story and comedy for adults and kids.

Layer Cake (2005,  R)
Layer Cake
A very good crime film. Sort of reminds me of Snatch or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. But much darker. The film has a great cast. Daniel Craig shines as the lead character. The story and characters are great. The ending actually surprised me. Worth a watch.

The French Connection (1971,  R)
The French Connection
This is a great cop movie. Gene Hackman gives a great performance as Popeye Doyle the tough narcotics cop. Roy Scheider gives a great supporting role. The movie has that 70's look that most films did during that time. Great story with great direction. Worth a watch for any fan of cop movies.

Watchmen (2009,  R)
Watchmen
What a great movie. Now I always knew of the comic Watchmen and I aways wanted to read it. But after watching this film I must go and read the comic now. A superhero movie not for kids. A great story set in the 80's with flashbacks and connecting stories. A very deep story dealing with human nature and fear. Plus more. A very deep story with superhero's in it. The character's are great and the entire cast did a great job. Since I never read the comic I never knew what was going to happen next and had no expectations to compare with the comic. Rorschach was my favorite character. It was like watching Batman if he ever just snapped and decided one day the criminals should be killed. In fact I enjoyed all the characters. Each one was complex and written very well. A must see for any comic book fan. Even if you don't read comics this is a must see.

The Fourth Angel (The 4th Angel) (2003,  R)
The Fourth Angel (The 4th Angel)
This is a top notch revenge thriller. Jeremy Irons gives us a great performance as a grieving father and as a determine husband to get revenge and understand why his family was killed. The minor roles of Forest Whitaker and Jason Priestley are okay. I have never read the book this was based off but I would recommend this as a watch.

Star Trek (2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
A great update on a classic series. The casting of each Star Trek member is spot on. Chris Pine was awesome as Kirk. Right down to the mannerisms and the fighting style. Zachary Qunito was also great as Spock. A great performance by Karl Urban as Bones McCoy. They all got these main characters spot on. Plus fresh updates on the rest of the main crew. I liked the original Star Trek shows and the movies that followed. But J.J. Abrams gives us a new fresh start of this series. Abrams gives up a high octane fast pace space adventure. From the great storyline to some awesome F/X this films delivered. Now some Trekkie fans may hate the timeline change of the story and the history being altered from the Star Trek we grew up with. But I think this allows for future stories without being hindered by past stories. Overall this films has something for Trekkie fans of old and those just wanting to see a great action adventure sci-fi film. Well worth a watch.

The Lone Ranger (1956,  Unrated)
The Lone Ranger
The Lone Ranger has to be one of western's classic characters. This may have been filmed back in the 50's but is still enjoyable to watch today. The Lone Ranger, Tonto, Hi Ho Silver away are stuck in pop culture. Plus the Lone Ranger theme music is a classic tune. The Lone Ranger is a classic western super hero.

The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold
The Lone Ranger is a classic western super hero. I loved this film as a kid and still enjoy it today. Sure it was made in the 50's but it stills holds up today as a great western movie. The Lone Ranger, Tonto, Hi Ho Silver Away, and the silver bullets are all great and stuck in pop culture to this day. Plus the Lone Ranger theme music was awesome. The theme music will also live on as a classic tune.

The Hound of the Baskervilles (2000,  Unrated)
The Hound of the Baskervilles
A good television movie adaptation on a classic Sherlock Holmes story. Matt Frewer does a good job as Sherlock Holmes and Kenneth Welsh as well in his role as Watson. I still think Jeremy Brett gives the best performance as Holmes but Matt Frewer is a skilled actor and still pulls it off. I enjoyed this film. But the original book is much better. But worth a watch for Sherlock Holmes fans.

3:10 to Yuma (2007,  R)
3:10 to Yuma
This is a outstanding western. The best western in a long time. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe both give top notch performances. A great dark story. A would like to see a sequel with Crowe's character back in another western story. Ben Foster gives a good supporting role performance. Plus the gun fighting and action scenes are worth a watch. A classic western film.

X-Men Origins - Wolverine (2009,  PG-13)
X-Men Origins - Wolverine
As a huge Wolverine fan I found this to be a decent movie. The film is basically a prequel to the other X-Men movies. They took some elements from the Wolverine comics and made up a different take on the origin. My favorite parts of the film first was Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Again he is outstanding as Wolverine. He looks and acts this part perfect. Liev Schreiber was awesome as Sabretooth. His take on the character was almost spot on from the comics. Plus I found the story was fast paced with tons of action. I was not bored from watching this film. My dislikes of the film was the Deadpool character in the end. Maybe I am so use to this character in the comics that it seemed odd to give him powers he never had in them. Plus I thought they could have given Gambit I little bit more screen time and action. Plus maybe they could have made the movie just a little longer to develop more character backgrounds. Plus I thought they could have made the Blob a much better character/foe. But overall with the few faults I found this to be a fun and action packed movie. I enjoyed it very much.

Casino (1995,  R)
Casino
Another great film brought to us by director Martin Scorsese. With great performances from DeNiro, Pesci and Sharon Stone makes this a must see. The story centered around gangsters and their control of gambling in Vegas. A great story with some great characters. No less from a Martin Scorsese film. A must see.

Futurama: Bender's Game (2008,  Unrated)
Futurama: Bender's Game
A great animated movie of Futurama. If your a fan of the show then you should enjoy this. Seems more like a extra long episode of Futurama. You get to see all of the regular cast and their crazy anticts. This time it envoles them fighing Mom and her sons to stop crazy fuel prices plus getting transported to a fantasy world made by Bender's mind from playing to much Dungeons and Dragons. Overall very funny. I am a fan of the show and enjoyed this very much.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007,  R)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
This is a great western film based on the real events and life of Outlaw Jesse James and Robert"the Coward" Ford. First off the film was beautifully shot. From the images to the darkness of the film and the period of the film was great. The film also as a great cast. Brad Pitt was excellent as Jesse James. Casey Affleck gives one of his best ever performances as Robert Ford. Plus a good supporting role from Sam Rockwell. The film may seem slow in parts but I found the characters are so well potrayed and the content was interesting to keep me watching. After watching the film I read up on the history of Jesse James and Robert Ford. The film is pretty near accurate to the history and how the characters were preceived. Overall a must see film for fans who enjoy westerns or just those who like real event based films.

Saints and Soldiers (2004,  PG-13)
Saints and Soldiers
This is a great WWII film based on true events. The story is about a group of allied soldiers stuck behind Nazi lines who must get vital information to the allies to help stop a Nazi surprise attack. As this group travels along they get a great comradery and respect for each other. This is a great true life based story that is interesting, tragic and full of great characters. The cast do a great job in each of their roles. The film reminded me of Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan. If you enjoy WWII films then I would suggest checking this out. Well worth the watch.

Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters) (The Counterfeiter) (2007,  R)
Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters) (The Counterfeiter)
This is a really well made film. The story is about a group of Jewish men in a Nazi concentration camp that are set up to make counterfiet money to aid the war. This film shows the struggles and guilt these men had to endure just so they could survive. If they do not help the Nazi's make the money they will be shot. The film is well acted by the entire cast. The film focus more on the character played by acted Karl Markovics. He is a counterfeiter before the war and his skills are used to make sure the money looks legit. A well made film with a interesting story and characters. Not sure if this was based off real events. But is a film worth checking out for those who enjoyed Schindler's List.

Street Kings (2008,  R)
Street Kings
This is a fast paced hard nosed dirty cop film. I enjoyed it. The film is about a cop who some how gets the blame for the death of his ex partner. Now he must find out the truth and catch the real killers. The film stars Keanu Reeves as a vice cop who is dirty but still at times beleives in justice and the law. Keanu is quite good in his role has the tough cop who is hurtng from his past. The story is gritty and hard edged. Makes for a great film. The film is full of action and great characters. Also good performances from Chris Evans, Forest Whitaker, Jay Mohr and Hugh Laurie. If you enjoyed the television show the Shield then give this film a chance. A well done cop film.

The Mask of Zorro (1998,  PG-13)
The Mask of Zorro
This is a great update on a classic character Zorro. I liked the old television show and movies when I was a kid. Antonio Banderas was a perfect choice to play Zorro. And Catherine Zeta Jones was also a good choice as the love interest. The film has a great mix of action and humor. Plus with a good story this film is a fun watch. Well worth a watch.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009,  PG-13)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Transformers 2:Revenge of the Fallen is a great sequel. The film takes place a few years after the original. This time we learn that the Transformers have been on earth for thousands of years looking for new enertron energy. Megatron comes back looking for this and with the decepticons they need the boy Sam who has this knowledge. This is just a plain fun film. The film has great action sequences and awesome F/X. The film does seem to have a few holes in it and some of the human characters are not needed in it. But once you get past that it is just pure popcorn fun. I prefer the original but this is a great sequel. Great to have Soundwave, Ravage and Jetfire appear as autobots and decepticons in the film. Childhood favorites of mine. Overall a fun action Sci-fi film. Well worth checking out.

Rasputin (1996,  R)
Rasputin
This was a very good historical film. We had to watch this in my history class back in high school. Basically about the history of the last Russian Tsar and how the monk Rasputin was in their lives. The film has a great cast. Alan Rickman is great as Rasputin. Ian MacKellen was also great as Tsar Nicholas II . A great story and telling of Russian history.

Green Lantern: First Flight (2009,  PG-13)
Green Lantern: First Flight
As a long time fan of the Green Lantern comics it was finally great to see a animated film made of one of my favorite Green Lanterns Hal Jordan. The film starts off very quick with the origin and jumps right into the space adventure. So one should not be bored. Great to have characters like Sinestro, Killowag and the Guardians come alive from the comics to this film. The animation is well done and the story quick paced but very good. Full of action. Great film for comic fans or those who are fans of Green Lantern. Well worth a watch.

Rescue Dawn (2007,  PG-13)
Rescue Dawn
A great true life based film on a American pilot who gets shot down over Laos and is captured. The film shows the time when he is captured to the time he is rescued. A very interesting and great look into the Vietnam war. Top notch performances from Christian Bale, Steve Zahn and Jeremy Davies. The films shows the beauty and the harshness of the Vietnam land. Also we see how some of the prisoners are treated by the Vietnam soldiers and people. Christian Bale's performance shows us what his character Dieter Dengler would do just to survive. Part war film and part drama about the human spirit. Well worth checking.

North by Northwest (1959,  Unrated)
North by Northwest
This is a great film by director Alfred Hitchcock. The story is about a New York advertising executive who gets mistaken for a man named Kaplan. They film has a great story that kept me interested the entire way through. Cary Grant is excellent as Thornhill. His charm and acting are top notch in this role. Plus great performances from Eva Marie Saint, James Mason and Martin Landau. The film has such a smooth flow to it and great characters. Plus the look of the film is awesome. Also the score to the film is great. This is one of those films I always wanted to see and it did not disappoint me. Alfred Hitchcock even makes a very quick cameo in his film. In the begining credits while trying to get on a bus. I laughed at the quick scene. A must see film for movie fans.

Rear Window (1954,  PG)
Rear Window
A classic. Another great film by Alfred Hitchcock. I can see why this was nominated for four Academy Awards. The film stars James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Wendell Cory and Raymond Burr. Excellent performances by all. It was amazing to believe the entire set was constructed on a soundstage. The way Hitchcock had this filmed and focus on each person in the windows of the apartment was well done. The story was well done and and has interesting characters. A story that drags you in and entertains through the characters and direction. A must see.

Houseguest (1995,  PG)
Houseguest
This is a funny film. The film stars comedian Sinbad as a con artist on the run from the mob who he owes money to. He pretends to be a famous dentist and hides out with someone who thinks he was his old college roomate. The film also stars Phil Hartman as the person who mistakes him as the old friend. I will admit this is a funny film. Sinbad is very funny in this. Phil Hartman also brings some laughs. I always seem to enjoy watching this film. Well worth a watch.

Empire Records (1995,  PG-13)
Empire Records
This was a classic teen movie from the 90's. The film has such a great young cast. I thought actor Rory Cochrane, Liv Tyler and Ethan Embry were great in their roles. The film is about a independent record store trying to stay open. Also you get the stories inbetween with the teenagers who work there. A fun film that makes for some mindless entertainment. Plus the film has a great soundtrack. Well worth a watch.

Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow (2008,  Unrated)
Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow
This was a very good animated film by Marvel. This is one of those what if type stories set in the future. The Avengers have children but Ultron comes back and kills most of the Avengers. Iron Man then takes the children into hiding. Years later the children are much older. They only know so much about their parents past. Ultron soon discovers their location and the adventure begins. I found there is something in this film for kids, new fans and hardcore Marvel fans. The animation was quite good and has a excellent story. Well worth a watch.

The Black Hole
I really enjoyed this movie when I was a kid. Then I thought it was awesome. I had a bunch of the toys from the movie. After watching it again as a adult I still enjoyed it but it does not hold up as it use to. Still the film has a solid story and some great F/X for its time . I always liked the look of all the robots in this movie. Hard to believe this was a Disney movie. This movie may not be for all Sci-fi fans. Some may find it boring and slow and maybe even cheesy. But I always liked this movie as a kid and still today as a adult.
