Movies I Want To See

The Invisible packs high potential but falls a bit short from the suspenseful film it should have been. Maybe Mr. Goyer was too busy writing The Dark Knight and his focus fell off a bit in the direction of The Invisible. If so, he can be forgiven. The plot is intriguing, the acting is well done, but the film falls into teenage love story land and therefore loses the punch it so deserves.

Definitely not a classic comedy, but it has some hilarious moments. Another wonderfully funny, yet that 'you can't help but like him' film for Nic Cage. This satire on racial bigotry is quite outdated and may be offensive to some.

Next looks promising.... I hope Nic gets a hit with this one!

A quirky, non-Hollywood film which is engaging because Morgan Freeman is such a charmer. This film is very different and probably will not be liked by the majority. In most respects, it is a pointless film, yet the interaction between Freeman and Paz Vega is priceless.

Hounddog captures a certain spirit and essence of the south and is a well acted film. The acting alone couldn't save the film from itself. The story being told is horrific, but it just doesn't come together in a cohesive way.

I'm not sure how I missed this film. I'm a huge fan of Lolita Davidovich. Will have to see this one!

With such a great cast I expected so much more... The script was horribly written and the special effects were chintzy. The cast was the only good thing about this film and I'm still scratching my head trying to figure how why Reynolds, Statham, Sobieski, Liotta and Perlman signed onto this farce.

An excellent film- if you're smart enough to interpret the subtle message. If you desire to know what type of parent not to become, watch Joshua.

Fur is a visually stunning film which is more an imagined fiction of Diane Arbus than actual bio. This is a strange and bizarre film which managed to hold my attention from beginning to end. Robert Downey Jr once again stills the show in a film. He is the master. After the credits rolled, I couldn't say this was an enjoyable tale, but it was definitely weird.

If I were 10 again, maybe this film would have worked.... It was just bad. From the script to the special effects, this film was a farce.

Awake has a great premise but it fails to deliver the goods. Alba lacks in the acting department, no matter how 'hot' she looks on screen. Howard, normally a decent actor, phoned in his performance. Christensen seemed to deliver the best he could with a poorly written script. Olin delivered. The film starts out well, takes a deep nose dive, picks up steam a bit, then gives everything away towards the middle. The ending is so-so and for a film which had so much promise, a so-so ending doesn't cut it.

A very nice action film from Marvel. Well acted and the story flows well. The CGI was not realistic, but that may have been exactly what the director intended. Robert Downey Jr appearing at the very end wets the appetite for much more....

An excellent blend of fiction and truth.... The Huntng Party starts out a bit slow and draggy, but once it picks up speed and the events begin unfolding, the film becomes an almost masterpiece of storytelling. Well acted and well scripted, this film should help open eyes to the truth of what is conspiring to allow war criminals free roam.

Babylon A.D. does have Vin Diesel in it's corner. Even the actions scenes aren't memorable in this futuristic and horribly written mess.

Trick r Treat interweaves four short tales into a workable feature flick. Not your typical horror film as the story plays on the folklore which surrounds All Hallows Eve. Entertaining in an odd way....

A very entertaining romantic comedy/drama which grasps the very soul of love in many different situations. With 'normal' to 'quirky' characters, this film is full of laughs, as well as some very touching moments. The mix of great writing and a stellar cast make Love Actually work nicely on all levels.
