Some of the Movies I would like to see in Wide Release on DVD
While I do understand TCM.com is releasing some of these exclusively on their website, and on Amazon.com for a higher price, the vault collection, etc., titles should be available at Amazon.com and elsewhere. I read that the warner archive titles are probably of substandard or poor quality. If they can't release something in as good a condition as possible, or at least at a reasonable price why should classic movie fans like myself bother to buy them? They aren't worth the price you pay otherwise. Perhaps the lost RKO vault collection is better, however. Other titles in this list are simply unavailable from their respective companies for some unknown reason. This list is only a partial one. Note: Paramount licensed Martin and Lewis DVD's manufactured after 2004 all tend to have technical problems. This includes the Legends Films/Paramount release of "Money From Home". I had to send several of the aforesaid DVD's back to Amazon.com due to this problem. I could not even finish one movie because it wouldn't let me play the last scene. I still don't know how the story ended. Maybe it's just my dumb luck? Some on this list were abruptly dropped from sale. This list is not complete by any means. All of the titles on this list are those I have seen at least once. Some have never been on DVD in any format. A few never even made it to VHS. If any of them manage to become available in the U.S.A. in a suitable format, please leave a comment. A mixture of companies have rights to these titles.
